LittleBigPlanet 3: Known Issues - Update and Workarounds

Hello Everyone!

Hope you're all enjoying your first steps into the world of LittleBigPlanet 3!

We're really enjoying reading all of your positive experiences with the game so far and look forward to hearing more about your new adventures.

It's come to our attention though that a number of you are running into a few issues that's hampering your enjoyment.

We are currently working around the clock to get these issues fixed in an upcoming update for you and after some investigation, we can recommend the following workarounds to help you get around some of the issues.


Prologue to Manglewood Story Block
Issue: If you skip or exit out of the Prologue's final cutscene. The Manglewood Book does not unlock and the story does not progress.

Workaround: Whilst in your Pod. Go into the Pause Menu, scroll down to profile and click on "Merge LittleBigPlanet Profiles".
Replay the final cinematic of the Prologue, watch it to the end and allow the Adventure to proceed to Manglewood.

Severe Popit Lag
Issue: The Popit takes a very long time to open and the game struggles to scroll through its contents at a reasonable pace.

This is affecting users with large numbers of screenshots stored in their PlayStation 4 Capture Gallery. This relates to screenshots across ALL titles and not just LittleBigPlanet 3.

Workaround: Move or Delete Screenshots from your Capture Gallery.
An upcoming fix will prevent these screenshots from causing this Popit lag.

Missing LBP2 and DLC Content
Issue: Some users are experiencing missing content from their profiles.
We are currently looking into these issues and are working to get them resolved asap.

LittleBigPlanet 2 Content
An error is preventing this content from being imported. We are working on a fix for this that will allow you to import all of the content that you have earned from LittleBigPlanet 2.

LittleBigPlanet DLC
Some content that you have previously purchased is not available for free download. If you already own this content, it should be available for download and we are working with the US PlayStation Store team to ensure that all content is made available to users that own it.

Missing Sound Objects
Issue: There are very few Sound Objects available in Create Mode.

Update: This is an issue with the catalogue and there should be a much wider range of new Sound Objects available. This will be fixed in our upcoming 1.3 update. (Date TBC)

Loving the game so far!

Issues I have encountered:

Yeah, most of this.

Oddsock likes to appear in random costumes in cut scenes. I know it did in the cut scene where you first meet toggle.

Though a doggie head on a dragon body was kinda adorable.

In the level, "It came from the black swamp" Oddsock fell through the water, out of the level.
This happened at the first large wooden pole sticking out of the water when I jumped off of it.

I've experienced a bug multiple times in which little Toggle will be invisible and show up as Sackboy once he respawns after death. It's made the final level impossible for me to ace.

Also, the LBP in-game store has been loading for about 5 minutes now, so I'm probably going to have to quit the game.

Can we also submit some things that might not necessarily be bugs but oversights in design? Like keyboard functionality on PS4 requiring you to open the message menu to type; a regression from LittleBigPlanet 1 (if I remember correctly)& 2's type any time, anywhere ability. Also, certain costume pieces causing conflicts (can't be worn with some categories) for no apparent reason (for instance, the Stripy Jacket and Inquisitor Armor [Dragon Age] torso pieces both conflict with waist items, despite neither being any more bulky than many other costume pieces that do support waist items).

I also noticed a couple of minor bugs, like the Gryphon costume (Mythological Creatures) for Oddsock equipping the Wyvern (Dragon Age) skin material when selected as a whole. I've got more, but I need to get back to the game to review them.

Game needs preformance fixes like no tomorrow, especially on ps3... where almost any user made level practically chokes the game. Also the glitch where you can't sticker yourself but can use decorations unless in storymode is annoying... Create mode can't handle much pressure at all. Online play is almost impossible due to freezing, crashing, diverging, failure to load resources or levels, etc. These issues I'm reporting from the ps3 version, but I've heard much the same from ps4 users. Lots of lag in story with multiple people. A lot of error signs in most user built levels and frequent freezing in create are my biggest woes off the top of my head.2014-11-19 22:50:00

Was messing around all over the place in the game, and I did notice a few things. PS3 version.




- I can't decorate My Earth, just My Moon. I may be overlooking something though.

- Using stickers on My Moon are veeery blurry. Even when using the sticker panel as a material on the moon.

- I can't use stickers on any characters, even myself. I can use decorations though. Sooooo... I was curious, then took out some sticker panel in create, then tried using stickers on that. Turns out, you can't can't use stickers at all, on anything; except for a few things, like the story levels.

- On some of my LBP2/LBP1 items and stickers, I have exclamation points in red shapes; although I can still use them.

- Custom categories for My Objects were deleted. I still have all the items, just that the different tabs were deleted and now I need to re-categorize everything. Not a huge issue though; for me anyways.

- I can't find this 1 review that the game keeps saying I have on a level on my Earth! It's driving me crazy! 8D

Great thread. Hopefully all of these issues can be fixed quickly. They are tainting an otherwise perfect masterpiece of a game. Once all of the kinks are sorted out, I'm going to be attached to LBP3 for many years to come.

Also, see here for another thread on the official PS forums, detailing many bugs on each page. Steven has already taken a look, but since then many more specifics (especially on missing DLC packs) have been posted by others. Could really help a lot in making sure all DLC is made available!

I don't know if this is supposed to be this way, or if it is an issue.

I am on PS4. Neither my moon or any of my levels will import from the cloud/Sony servers. My moon...she...is blank....

There isn't a "load profile" option is there? I found the two links for "load goodies" for each previous game, but no separate link for profiles. I don't think there is supposed to be one, but just making sure.

Trying pressing in one of the thumb sticks when in Decorate mode, theres a prompt at the bottom of the screen, which will tell you which one

I found one minor bug no one has mentioned yet. In a bear side quest level, after avoiding a single score bubble and nearing the scoreboard, the toggle NPC said the same dialogue as the one where you collect one or more score bubbles despite that he rewarded me the prizes.2014-11-20 01:46:00

On the level "On The Link Of Disaster", shardinated material bits have a tendency to get stuck beneath the panels that big toggle is supposed to weigh down, which prevents your procession. It'd probably be a good idea to remove collision between those.

To get your in-progress levels back, you have to publish them in a copyable state (locked, most likely) on LBP2 and then copy them to your moon in LBP3 PS4.

Another thing... it shows lbp3 level slots- but on ps3 I can't publish lbp3 levels since I have max levels in lbp2.. but it tells me I have 0/20 lbp3 level slots... that's another one.

I can't seem to publish levels either. I've also got the max 20/20 levels published on LBP2.

I tried various types of levels - empty, regular, copied from LBP2, all info filled out, no info filled out, copies of the same levels with all of those variables tweaked... Nothing works.

When I go to publish, the level badge is reddened like I'm at my limit of publishable levels. It seems like it would let me publish over an old one, but I'm not looking to test that...

Getting a consistent crash in Manglewood here. After unlocking Oddsock, my friend and I swap to him and then cross the bridge to the right of the level start (next to the three marbles). After unlocking this area, Newton flies in and a cutscene starts...that's when the game crashes for me. We've tried it again together and separately, but it's a no go each time. Aside from a fair amount of audio issues (music not playing, dialogue audio overlapping or cutting out, sounds playing late) I also seem to be missing completion prizes (so acing prizes and 100% collection prizes).

Also blink balls don't seem to work properly in the Manglewood hub.

All in all though I'm glad you guys are staying in touch with the community. I remember back when levels were corrupting in the first littlebigplanet and Media Molecule had us send our saves in to them to get fixed. That personal touch when it came to customer service made me a life long fan of the company and this franchise. Keep up the communication <3

find most lbp2 levels bug out in some un-explainable, bizarre and unplayable way... This is not going well.

Another bug is that rapid animation appears to cause lockup + lag. Also when viewing a friend's view of an earth it's all messed up and you can't see which levels they are selecting.

Another thing to add on to that, subtitles don't work in lbp2 levels on 3. They either don't show up at all or only as speech bubbles.

All my costumes are all getting the red ! Warning and can't be loaded, that's just swell. I think that's all I can take to have the game hit me with tonight, I hope some more bugs are documented and fleshed out. I hope they manage to fix these and the lbp2 levels.

I'm on the PS3 version, and I've imported profile data from LBP1 and LBP2.

Issue 1:
I'm unable to receive the level complete rewards for [Shake, Rattle & Roll] in Manglewood. I've tried many workarounds and none have worked. I initially beat it with one other local co-op player.

This may go for other levels as well. I seem to be missing items that I know I've gotten from level completion rewards (Such as stickers tags to unlock secret bubbles).

Edit: Some people are saying this is due to having 'receive community bubbles' off, which I had off during my first play through. I deleted and restarted my profile with it turned on, and I've been receiving them so far. So the issue may be that some story bubbles are being considered community bubbles.

Issue 2:
The following Popit icons appear as a red <!> icon:

Issue 3:
Oddsock randomly changes costumes during cutscenes (Pug head with robo-dog body, race car and player set costume). This doesn't seem to occur if he is left with his default costume.

Issue 4:
Icons for levels stored on moon sometimes fail to load properly and become blank. Entering the level details window seems to prompt the texture to load for that particular level, but otherwise it stays blank.

I've also seen this happen to main story adventure icons.

Repro:
Spending a while browsing through menus and entering/exiting adventure maps seems to increase the chance of this happening. As well as creating/exiting levels on the moon.

Issue 5:
The level status medals (collected all, completed, aced) do not update properly after getting a new one. If you leave the adventure map then return, they will be properly updated. I mainly experienced this with the Popit Puzzles, but it may be in other adventure maps as well.

Repro:
1) Enter a Popit Puzzle level that has not been completed.
2) Complete level.
3) Leave adventure map.
4) Return to same level and complete a different goal (ace, collect all).
5) Observe status medals on chosen level.

Expected Results:
Level updates with a new medal to reflect the goal completed when player returns to the adventure map after completing the goal.

Actual Results:
Level is not updated with the appropriate medal. After player leaves the adventure map and returns, the medal is shown properly.

Issue 6:
On the "More Stories" list menu, the Goodies and Prizes percentages are inaccurate. (They all display 0% currently)

Issue 7:
In create mode, the left border wall of the Needlepoint (Summer) and Needlepoint (Winter) backgrounds show a neon pink texture. (Likely a missing texture)

Issue 8:
Deleting a captured Sackpocket item from the global menu while in create mode causes the menu items to remain blurry until the menu is closed.

Issue 9:
Attempting to unlock LittleBigPlanet content via [Settings > My Unlocks > Unlock LittleBigPlanet Content] causes the system to freeze and requires a restart.

Issue 10:
An empty dialog bubble appears and hovers over the Popit Puzzles planet after accessing the Play menu from the pod computer.

Issue 11:
On the level [Furry Soles, Hot Coals] the Yeti will often spin to face north when the player stops moving.

Repro:
Do a series of short movements alternating north and south with sudden stops and observe the Yeti character's facing.

Issue 12:
While browsing most adventure maps, all of the player's shadows can be seen on the map walls (Inconsistent as the pod shadow is not shown, just floating player shadows).

Repro:
1) Load the Prologue adventure map.
2) Wiggle-waggle your little sack arms off.
3) Observe shadows on back wall.

Issue 13:
All prior comments and reviews on published lbp/lbp2 levels that have been carried over into lbp3 are considered new comments and reviews, and are displayed in the notifications on the Me menu as new.

Issue 14 (Level issue):
In the Manglewood hub level, if the player jumps into the exact center of the water pool next to the High Stakes Heist door, they will be pushed to the front layer. This gives them access to an area that would normally require the blink ball powerup to get to.

Issue 15:
After changing my pod global controls, saving the changes and returning to my pod, it will revert to my old settings as they were before the changes.

Issue 16:
The portion of the decorate menu that used to contain pod backgrounds is blank. Pod backgrounds cannot be changed.

Issue 17:
Once, while loading into the Manglewood hub level from my pod, my Sackboy spawned near the Oddsock statue and then fell through the level to his death. He then respawned as Oddsock, before I had unlocked access to Oddsock.

Issue 18:
While using the Popit Power-up in play mode, placing logic inside microchips causes the placed logic to go invisible, despite being set to visible during play mode (Logic placed outside microchips remain visible).

Issue 19:
While using the Popit Power-up in play mode, closing and opening a microchip sometimes causes the microchip board to become mostly transparent and stay that way.

Issue 20:
While in my pod, switching to big toggle, cycling through emotion states, switching to tiny toggle, cycling through emotion states then switching back to big toggle made it so that I could not open my poppet or any other menu besides the pod computer. I then tried to enter create mode and my PS3 locked up, requiring a reset.

Issue 21:
When a sackbot is rotated to use for top-down levels and is moved, their head will often twitch violently when stopping or changing direction. It seems that the base animation blending is still considering directions as if it were a side scrolling level. This is also the case when a sackbot being used for top-down levels looks at a tag. It would be nice if there could be a "Top-Down" option added to sackbots that would either lock their head, or change the orientation of their head rotations. (This one is driving me insane, I had done a ton of pre-planning for a top-down adventure.)

I can't sticker anything unless I'm in play mode in a level. Create mode and pod I can't sticker anything. This is game breaking for me because I want to make my own costumes and objects, but I can't.2014-11-20 13:39:00

I'm messing around with logic, and the Permanency Tweaker is missing. Level thermometer is set to "Dynamic", in case that matters. There's a tutorial for the object, but the object doesn't exist.

If the Tweaker was a last-minute cut, please let me know, and I'll just resort to the hologram/follower technique.

Yea, I would wait a few weeks until we get a big update or 2. Lots of issues at the moment. The core game itself is amazing though, just needs to iron all of the kinks out.

Especially this time of year. Any game that can be marketed to parents has to get out by this week so it's available for Black Friday. It's just too much of a revenue loss if you don't.

That being said, this game could have used a more extensive beta and about another month to work out the bugs. They used a different method to upload old data in the Beta than they did in the actual release. I don't know why, it worked great in the beta.

Since this is the right thread, here's an edited list of a few issues I've encountered so far:
-Voiced character dialogue cutting off
-Nearly impossible to join other players ("Failed to preload level resources"/ "Failed to load profile")
-Randomly being unable to sticker your character/ anything at all
-Random crashing when trying to save certain costumes in create mode
-Costume pieces disappearing when trying to save a costume from a sackbot (unless you equip the individual parts manually before saving it)

The game would be good too if it were working, but these are not 'kinks' they're mostly class A bugs/glitches, as in game-breaking ones.

For people not able to progress in the story try joing someone who is that last cutscene. If they are able to progress back out of that game once u get to the next level and go to the bottom left of your pod computer where it says last played and click play. I've had things like the levels deleting parts of it's self at random, dying on spawn, spawn in random locations outside the map in one level I found, one where sackboy floats but doesn't run, one where the starting area's doors won't open when they're supposed to sense the player and open, Raf_Arch's lbp2 ff7 bombing mission has all the npcs in the level randomly spawned towards the end in some large glitchy sackbot mass and the exit is gone for some reason making it un-beatable, my SW3 level causes lockup when you boost, etc. Has anyone found the odd and random glitches through (specifically lbp2) levels? It also seems to occur on both systems from what my friend with both has confirmed. But has anyone else had this? Not these specific glitches, nor the 3d layers allowing level breaking but that lbp2 levels almost generate random bugs and each level has it's own special one, has anyone seen that yet?2014-11-20 17:34:00

So here's a couple of game crashing bugs that I ran across:

(parentheses are the days I encountered these bugs)

1. (11/19/14) Game crashed when I shatterized a section of basic climbable material when the player grabs it. The initial material to be destroyed had a material tweaker to remove the bevel, and was set to dephysilized shards. (not sure if this is a bug, or is just a stupid decision on my part to try to shatterize something that wasn't designed for it)

2. (11/19/14) Game UI broke after a 'Failed to Load Level' sign appeared trying to play an LBP3 Beta level (Project "Hill" by acdramon). I couldn't select anything, or move the UI around, and the earth slowly rotated on its own. Pressing the options brought up the Menu still, but I just had to reset the game.

3. (11/23/14) If being forced into a velociporter when you are grabbing a climbable material, your character will not come out of the other velociporter but instead is killed and the 'delete' sound from create mode is heard when you enter it.

4. (11/25/14) Ran into the Manglewood Story block multiple times, though I was also able to fix it every time. Each time I tried to play the boss level of Manglewood by entering that area with Oddsock, the game wouldn't load the next level, but instead the entire game would crash. I would recommend this as a top priority as it makes the game essentially broken to the common player who won't know to perform the workaround to it.

5. (11/28/14) I don't know how it happens, but mysteriously objects and sometimes entire sections from my level that I'm working on will disappear- which is quite annoying after spending some time getting an object working just right (good thing that I only built concepts and not fully rendered objects). My level is set to Dynamic thermo if that has anything to do with it. Sorry I don't have more info.
Also, another note on this matter, randomly at one point in building my level, I discovered one section mysteriously disappeared. AN ENTIRE SECTION. MISSING. A small portion of my level just vanished. I don't know if I'm going crazy, or if this game is sneaking little bites at my creations.

6. (11/27/14) Ghost Broadcasting Microchips. I think I'm being haunted by Broadcast Microchips. At one point, I killed it... No but seriously, I placed a broadcast microchip in my level and set it to 'Objects' and broadcast to 'All in Range'- I was attempting to make a section of my level decrease in opacity in order to see a background layer where the player can go. I decided against using it, and deleted the original chip. But... it came back... Not a major bug, but quite annoying when you feel like the game isn't operating as expected and is somehow not removing objects effectively.

7. (11/27/14) Also, I notice that the game itself is having difficulty saving what's going during my creating sessions. Sometimes I find myself repeating steps that I had done already done in order to get a desired effect. With the material tweaker, I would try to make some cardboard indestructible, and if I am not going crazy and wasn't somehow undoing to a point where I didn't perform that action anymore, the game would revert my changes to where the tweaker would be set to 'No' in the indestructible tweak, and set to 0% friction as I copied it from another material tweaker used for a different purpose. Eventually it stopped doing such and everything was fine. Again I apologize for the lack of details, as I really am just recalling what I've come across the last week.

I'll edit this post with any new bugs I happen to find.

There's one I came across with a random, new friend online. One of you stand in either corner of the pod while the other rocks the pod back and forth. Once the pod is all the way to one side, if timed properly, the player standing in the corner changes to any other hero (Toggle, Swoop) and again, if timed properly, they will spawn outside of the pod because their changing of the hero doesn't move along-side the pod.

Another one is with the paint tool, ordinarily used with the Move controller. You can try to change the opacity of any sticker but it will always appear at 100% opacity even with a normal/Move controller.

I'm messing around with logic, and the Permanency Tweaker is missing. Level thermometer is set to "Dynamic", in case that matters. There's a tutorial for the object, but the object doesn't exist.

If the Tweaker was a last-minute cut, please let me know, and I'll just resort to the hologram/follower technique.

I see it in my tool bag. Did you turn Advanced Create mode on? (Settings > Profile > Advanced Create Mode)

GAME BREAKER:

POSSIBLE SPOILERS


I'm on the level near the end, where you are toggle, running away from the screen and jumping over, under, through barriers.

When I switch from big toggle to little toggle, little toggle is invisible. Eventually it turns into big toggle/sack boy, which is also fairly ineffective. In al cases, the costumes don't show. (my sack folk are naked) It's impossible for me to get past with this glitch.

Question: quite a few of these issues (profile import/dlc content/player connection/freezing etc.) were reported during beta testing, didn't anyone have the integrity to stand up and say the product isn't fit and ready for launch?
Other major titles have delayed releases to fix major bugs rather than release an inferior flawed version that would result in player frustration and critical reviews among the videogaming media.
Maybe the commercial pressure of hitting the seasonal sales window was too great....but delaying by a month would still have the game out in time for christmas and as a bonus the release could have been worldwide rather than available in just one region.
The long term interest of the franchise and the LBP community would have been better served.

Agreed. In total honesty, if I shell out 60$ for a game, especially with a series I actually have a lot of faith in I expect to at least be able to PLAY the game I just bought, especially with that price. Now if lbp3 were functioning properly, yeah by all means it would be a wonderful game. But instead I feel like I just paid 60$ to alpha test a game that's not even near beta stages yet. The ps4 version seems to have a few less issues, but both games are far from finished. I quite literally can do next to nothing in the game without freezing, crashing, disconnecting or the level completely glitching out on me to prevent me from going further. And I feel bad for all the people who go in knowing none of this and might be turned away by this. Gotten quite a few bugs myself, some already posted. Here's a list, all on 80 GB PS3:


1-2 Minute Loading screens between levels
Intense lag in Marvel Level Kit
DC Level Kit utterly broken, when you collect a score bubble, you immediately come off the wall, making it near impossible.
PS3 freezes up completely if you make a Sackbot Changeling with 2 Seperate Costumes
Oddsock Statue and Character Change Point in Manglewood Hub disappears completely sometimes, reloading level sometimes works.
"Recent changes to your profile could not be saved due to an unknown error" after completing Shake, Rattle & Roll"
Stickers cannot be used anywhere but levels in Play Mode, decorations work perfectly fine.
Impact Sensor does not correctly activate Kill Tweaker unless said Tweaker is set to "Kill Everyone"

Another thing is that controls when in the 16 layers is very buggy, it is hard to layer swap sometimes, jumping while holding a down on the analog stick will prompt sackboy to try and layer-change out of the max # layer and he cannot jump. Cannot easily swap between objects the same height on different layers even within range (1-2 layers away from you).2014-11-21 02:02:00

I have indeed played a few LBP2 levels that have different bugs such as magic mouths failing to play voice clips, spawn points failing to activate, and level-enders failing. Additionally, impact-explosive bombs only kill the player if they're in the same layer as the bomb, so Sackboy can now just walk behind the bomb explosions without harm.

Online multiplayer is practically unplayable.
LBP2 levels have many issues such as magic mouths not working, bouncepads not working, etc.
Logic settings are sometimes not saved.
Logic behaves in unintended ways.
The story has many game breaking glitches.
I encountered a major camera bug when I tried to place a decoration on my character. It zoomed in a lot and then the camera stayed that way and I kept dying because I was out of the screen (the countdown timer appeared and killed me) The only fix was restarting the game.
I already had several costumes unlocked at the start of the game, which my friend didn't have.
This is only a very small percentage of the glitches I am encountering.

I totally agree with both of you guys, I want gamers to think of quality when they see LBP. Unfortunately the core LBP3 game written on thousands (millions?) of discs will forever be in the current broken state it's in. Kind of sucks because not everyone connects their PS3 and PS4 to the PSN for patches.

But... What done is done I suppose. At least Sumo/Sony are quick to right their wrongs (even if some were preventable). Let's cross our fingers for a patch release during the EU launch!

I've found 2 fairly major issues on the PS3 version so far:

1. When I try to use the popit power-up to pause or rewind it will not work under my main profile. I have to bring in another player under another account in order to utilize this feature. This glitch persists into later levels. I tried reinstalling the game and re-importing each profile, and now I can no longer pause and rewind with either profile, and I must bring in a player under guest to pause and rewind.

2. The game asks me to go to My Unlocks to unlock content from the previous 2 games. It works fine for LBP2, but when I try to import content from the 1st game, it crashes and I have to hold the power button because the system becomes unresponsive to the controller.

I too am falling out of numerous levels (4 or 5 so far), and am also finding my costumes changing throughout levels and cutscenes. The vehicle building levels especially. Every time I come back from a race or distance attempt, my costume re-sets.

I've mainly avoided create for now, since on checking my first saved level from LBP2 I found that there is indeed a thermometer and it's busted through the roof which it wasn't in LBP2 (I thought they said no monitors in this version?). However, I did just now go and check, and yes.... I have no new backgrounds either.

I'm receiving all other stickers from LBP3... just not the ones to activate sticker switches. :/

This game looks amazing! Won't it be great when it actually works?

EDIT: Speaking of create mode, wtf is up with all the missing icons and pictures? Half my popit is full of big red exclamation points!!!!!

I'm on my ps4 and came across a few bugs.

Issue 1: the "Rotating Disc" tool would always stretch out the decorations I've placed on it whenever I have it spinning. Thus, distorting it's shape.

Issue 2: the "Paint" tool, when you press the circle button to "Choose Colour" if you were to press the R2 button to use the "Advanced Color Picker" more than once, the perimeter of the color analog will not allow you go the full range of the palette.

Oh and I would love to see all the tools implemented in LBP3 from the Vita. It's a huge game changer for me. Especially the Advance Notepad, it's A-MUST-HAVE.

The amount of bugs in this game is ridiculous. It has more bugs than Karting. It's nearly impossible to play through a level without encountering at least 1 or 2 bugs. This would be an amazing game, the best game ever, if it didn't have so many freezes/crashes/disconnections/errors.

*I'm so tired of joining someone, having an error and being forced to reset my game because my character never spawns in my pod.
*People's Earths don't render properly (some have big holes in them).
*The order of the costumes in my bag is random. It used to be in the order in which they were saved. Now it changes each time.
*things randomly disappear from my poppit.
*Why can't I use the new backgrounds to decorate my pod?
*Why exactly did they remove the dive-in button? I don't use it but I know a lot of people used it....and used LBP as a tool for meeting friends.
*Score givers don't work properly. Even if "1000" appears on screen, only 100 or less may appear in the score circle. Also happens with score bubbles.
*If you are playing online with friends and go near wind material, you will almost always be disconnected.
*Buying costumes at Zom Zom's sometimes doesn't work. Also, sometimes a costume you've bought appears as not yet bought.
*I watched the credits to the end, but the level still shows a silver sackboy, like I didn't finish it.

Sooooo.... I was in the Manglewood hub and Zom Zom's model disappeared after playing a level or 2 and he is gone forever in the hub except for his voiceless text!

And restarting my system doesn't fix it.... Why does this game save errors?

And besides the terrible bug that doesn't add any of the end of level prizes to my popit meaning I am unable to get a lot of content in the game currently. Also levels I ported over from LBP2 are seriously bugged. a example 1 of my WIP auto scrolling levels is suppose to allow you to push buttons while jumping in mid air to do different fancy air tricks... But it for no reason now super lags the game whenever a air trick is preformed.

Also I noticed they didn't glue a lot of the collect-a-bells things to the floor... I tossed a teleport-ball at a pile of them and they fell into a mud-pit... ( > _ >)

Another annoying thing is when wearing costumes such as Eve from LBP2 the whole costume is removed if you use the popit create hat power-up... That really should be fixed so it doesn't remove your costume parts... That is how the other hat type power-ups work afterall....

I haven't even completed the world with Toggle yet and all has happened... I repeat what somebody else said and will say this game feels like it's still in BETA. *mew

Is it even possible to cancel a PSN digital pre-order or return a hard disc copy for a refund? If it were a car it would be pulled of the road due to a safety recall. It would help if Sumo was giving us more answers beyond "we are aware of the issues."

How about "be sure to send us an email with all the DLC you are missing or can't use and we will make sure you get all of it." and "Here is a complete list of glitches/errors we are aware of and guarantee to fix. If you have others, let us know and we will add them to the list. All "fixes" will be actual "fixes" not "work arounds."

That should be followed with "we are sorry you spent $60 for a game that was still 1-2 months away from being ready for market. Here is a free DLC pack and/or DLC credit as a thank you/we're sorry."

You have more faith than me. I've never been more disappointed in a game. I've played games before that were called buggy, but I've never really had problems and just assumed the reports were overblown.

This is the first time I've actually played a game so buggy it's almost unplayable and is currently impossible to complete. I can't finish story mode, I can't edit anything I was doing on LBP 2 because they require PiratesOTC DLC, you have a hard time finding community levels that are not broken and you can pretty much throw out the idea of playing with anyone else.

And the amazing thing is, there are actually people experiencing more bugs than I am.

I'm sure it will be all sorted out in the end, but this sucks and makes me wish MM had kept the game in house. I trust MM, I don't know Sumo.

Hi Mr. Isbell,

I've encountered a problem with emitters in create mode. My emitters aren't behaving the way they should. For some reason, they emit the objects on the wrong layers, some behind where I told them to emit, others in the layer in front of where they should show up. When I try to correct the issue by repositioning the emitted objects, the emitters reposition the objects to the wrong layer.

I'm all for listing out the glitches I find so they'll be patched (hopefully soon), but considering how quiet most of the net is about the issues in this game it should be talked about. It's not like it's hate-mail. A game that can literally render it's self un-playable in every aspect that's something people have been excited for and just fails left and right but IF functioning WOULD be an amazing follow up to the pretty swell game that was lbp2, that's something to gripe about. Hi

I've been in Create Mode a lot and i've experienced a TON of bugs.. to the point of not being able to make a long level. Because my PS4 crashes about every 10 minutes.
I've sent you (StevenI) a few screenshots via Twitter, but i'll post them here too.

So here is a summary of the crashes, as far as I remember. Many of these happened to me multiple times, as I tried to achieve certain things:

Trying to change the layer thickness of a Slide that had been corner edited resulted in a PS4 FREEZE (had to force shut down my PS4)
Sometimes, randomly, when the camera shifts to an above-view to accomodate me changing the layer thickness of a material, I get a PS4 error screen, or get a PS4 FREEZE that forces me to shut it down (This has caused the majority of my crashes)
Copying and putting a layer launcher in front of another one, which was neatly set into a material, resulted in a PS4 error screen
Attaching a string to a balloon went horribly wrong (attached to the wrong layer), and after a while resulted in a PS4 error screen



Next to that, i've had a weird issue where I used several broadcast chips to make certain objects do things (such as levitate, sway in the wind, and-so-on) - and after a while, the objects I put the tags on that the broadcast chips were targetted towards, all the objects with the tags on them became linked together and I couldn't edit them seperately, move them seperately, or even delete one without deleting all the others. It might be important that I was in Dynamic Thermometer mode while I was building that part of the level. Eventually I switched it off because I thought it caused a lot of bugs.

Also, for some reason the Kill Tweaker does not work when set to "kill Owner". Only when set to kill All, does it work.

Overall i'm scared to work in Create Mode because nearly everything I do seems to cause crashes or even freezes at random.

I went back and played one of my Glow World levels. What I hated most is that the cameras were broken, and sometimes, the movers and followers don't work. I may have mentioned that the Cross Controller sounds are missing, but my previously owned items that use the sounds still have them. It's just I can't make new items with the CC sounds. I also didn't like the fact it made my level look even darker.

I'm so glad that the majority of my CC items aren't unusable or removed over time.

In a Swoop minigame where you dodge the target and have the target icon destroy the antenna or robots, I scored higher than 5,000 points and the wheel revealed a bunch of score bubbles. But something is missing. I noticed that I have 64% of collected prizes on that level, and usually the NPCs reward me costumes. I don't seam to collect the costumes from the NPC. I have to disagree with you on this one. Barring some weird unknown virus that affected the game files on the day of it going into production, it's simply irresponsible to put out a game with this many bugs. Money is tight for many people these days, and $70 is a lot of money for some.... I think customers have a right to do a little complaining when a game dev gets it this wrong.

Let me see if I can articulate my concerns in a polite respectful manner...

LBP is a much loved creative gaming experience centered around a loyal community of ardent fans.
Over the years people have devoted millions of hours of imagination... imparting and investing a little bit of themselves in the process. The promotional blurb advertises there are over 9 million user created levels to play but this new version has rendered many of those unplayable...working on the assumption the average level takes 10 hrs^ to create (*some take 10 mins some takes months)...thats 90 million hours of lost endeavour.
The new game itself has many major issues which are really frustrating the community, at worst the crashes and freezing can be system threatening to older ps3s. The quality assurance was terrible, many of the issues being flagged by beta testers remain unresolved in the release version.
Commercial pressures obviously outweighed any duty of care to the community and a much loved franchise.
When the start of the thread states a "few issues" are spoiling the experience it suggests damage limitation, or a complete failure to comprehend how hurt the community and games reputation is by this terrible decision to release such a flawed version.
Believe me when I say people aren't posting for fun...they are posting in the hope that their very real concerns are read and escalated to community management, developers and beyond.
Maybe an apology, some recompense or a public commitment from official sources stating they will never treat such a wonderful loyal community in such a shoddy manner again?

I would remain optimistic bro. It seems most of this stems from the simple fact they wanted to maximize profits, which may not have even been Sumo's choice to do. I'm hoping most things will be patched up by the time it comes out in EU (where I think the market for LBP is bigger anyway). It may be a uneven comparison, but I feel like this is the same as releasing a new console. The people who got it day one are gonna get the biggest issues and those who waited a few months will make a far less risky investment.

I would say buy it when you feel confident you will experience the game as it should. But don't give up on LBP just because it was rushed. Hopefully it will all work out.

The game is amazing, all bugs/glitches aside. It definitely needed another month or two of development, that is for sure. Personally, I'm not going to touch this game again until a huge patch comes out, because right now it is walking the fine line of the unplayable state. However, once everything is fixed (which needs to be soon), I'm going to play it non-stop.

I agree with this. So far my experience hasn't been all that bad. I've completed the game and got 100% on the first three maps. Just gotta finish up the last one. I haven't been being careful either and the worst thing that's happened to me is I've fallen out of the level a handful of times. I haven't had a crash yet. Sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones... If creates as bad as stated above, then I'm just gonna play with the tools a little and get my head wrapped around them while I wait for that patch......

I particualrly had a scene that was really complex in LBP2 and even gave a lot of exclamation points/frame rate drops. But in LBP3 it ran so smooth, I thought the cutscene was speed up lol

Does anyone else's magic mouths not display subtitles anymore? This is the issue I am seeing besides the DLC issue. It seems to happen with all the levels I previously published in LBP2, so the cutscenes end up being broken. Besides that, all the same issues as everyone else. I do see a few more costumes were added.

I'm sure I'm missing some dlc, but I was able to download quite a bit from the store. The level packs steveni mentioned are missing but I got the others.
I'm really not too worried about all this, as I'm a patient person and can find plenty to keep busy till they get it running smoothly.
I'm pretty sure they do care about getting it working though. Several of the designers are straight from the community. Does anybody think they're alright with all of this? I highly doubt it. It stinks we spent our cash on a broken game, but now all there is to do is wait...

Look, I'm not saying he's not entitled to his opinion any more than the rest of us, but there's some irony in the fact that he took the time to just add more unnecessary negativity to the thread without actually adding a bug complaint. He's complaining about complaints. Where is the contribution in that?

I just read the entire thread, and to be fair, in the first 80 posts there were only 7 complaints, none of which really seemed to have the 'end of the world' feeling he implied. In fact, there are only really one or two members who are more negatively vocal than most about the state of the game right now. It was a grossly exaggerated generalization on his part, and an incorrect one. Things really don't break down until page 5, and even then it's really just a reflection of the large amounts of bugs the game has. Bremnen is a good guy from what I recall from being more active here few years ago, and he's entitled to his opinion just as much as the rest of the community. With all due respect, I understood what he was saying, and really didn't need you to speak on his behalf to clear anything up for me.

That's the last I'll say about my response, and leave room from here on in for bug reports, since it's frowned upon to do anything but.

Also, I wasn't overcharged. I took the taxes into account and rounded off.

I've found yet another game breaking bug (in the PS4 version). No idea how it happened, or how to fix it, but for some reason I can't switch to Toggle anymore. When I go to characters and try to select him, I just pop up as the same character I already had. This applies to story mode as well, I can no longer use Toggle, even at the switch gates, this obviously makes parts of the game impossible to play.

The problem with magic mouths is that if you had them displaying subtitles in LBP2, you will need to go edit them again and change them to subtitles. Even then, it seems like the subtitles disappear extremely quickly, even if you make them unskippable or put them in a sequencer.

The last part of the speech is cut off almost every time, not as bad towards the end, but the tutorials & first few level have it real bad. Just some bugs I've found on the PS3 version that I haven't already noticed were posted:
-Failing to load newest category of store (infi loading glitch) -Being able to use certain hearted tools like the permanancy tweaker and camera in the story levels (for example you can use cameras to zoom out of the space you're in, but you cannot place them, so they really don't do anything besides letting you see out of the map) -New reviews/comments not being displayed on earths -no play counters on story levels -in several levels, you can use the boot powerup from the final world to get around the map alot easier/get out of the map -I got all the parts of certain costumes from the zom zom shop but it didn't get added to my costumes

Ok, so on the 'Hub' levels of the story, I have found quite a lot of bugs that are extremely annoying.

Manglewood Swamp: Can't change into OddSock, and can't find his statue. Side-characters don't interact with the player. All of this happens after beating the first titan.

Ziggurat Grand Hall: Instant death. Nothing works, I've even tried Boost Boots! Unfortunately, I don't really have any prizes in that level so... yeah. Happens after beating the second titan.

Bunkum Lagoon: Can't find Swoop statue, and so I can't turn into Swoop. Side-characters don't interact with the player. Happens after beating the final level of the game.

Next are the bugs I have when playing in my Pod/ on the community

I hear crickets in every background, even the Avalonia background, it's soothing, but it can get quite annoying.

Here are bugs when I'm creating

A LOT of things missing from past DLC and other games (sounds, music, etc.) Also, some older materials have an icon of an exclamation mark.

I might be updating this later because I'm "Only drinkin' beer from the top 'o' the barrel" ~me 2014

Having the problem of not being able to pause or rewind in create mode, as another person mentioned. The only way I can perform those functions is by bringing a Guest profile on. I am on the PS3 version.

Don't know if it's somehow related, but trying to create a level on my moon, the entirety of the popit's icons are grayed out, even on a guest profile. Oh hell, even the level that requires all 4 sack characters to pursue Newton, Swoop is constantly opening the popit when I try getting past the electric wheel in the airship. Having to replay the level many times, I've become uhh, well versed in the way of Swoop and I know it's not me pressing the square button by accident. Juggled both controllers, etc, to see if they were to blame - they weren't.

Hoping and expecting Sumo to squash a ton of bugs soon... it's a shame things have gotten off to a rocky start, because I feel this installment embodies what LBP is supposed to be and not the stressful shooting/dark levels/techno music MM barfed out with LBP2.

I have encountered several bugs in the car building/racing minigame. We managed to build some sort of crazy super car that spun out of control. Also, the wormhole finally disappeared and now we can't replay the race to get the prize bubbles we missed. This seems to be permanent. And when we tried to undo, we fell out of the map.

(PS3) I've noticed during speeches (cutscenes or conversations) sackboy looks downward with his head in a locked position. When speech is over your able to tilt your head normally. (PS4: Game Breaking) Found a glitch with the Fluff McCain costume using Toggle - if I put the outfit on in my pod it glitches out and the game crashes and sends me to the PS4 main menu. You can work around that a bit by going into your savefiles area on your PS3 outside the game and look for 'adventure map data save file' go ahead and delete that, if you do it'll reset your progress in the storymode... however you'll still have all the content you collected from the storymode in your popit regardless because the adventure map save data is separate from your profile data... a amusing side effect to this is if you were having trouble finding all the collect-a-bells... this trick allows you to bypass the need by giving you the option of spending yo bells on content you didn't collect from your last run of the adventure map. *mew2014-11-22 09:36:00

I made a topic in the bug reporting forum that we now have, saying that from what i've heard, the release version has even more bugs than the beta. People said that it didn't. Then i read through this topic.

I'm getting more and more skeptic about LBP3...

Ok, now that's scaring me. There must of been some kind of error that messed the whole game up before it released. Because I simply don't get how BETAs can run better than full games.

Hai all,

I have one very major bug. i play awhile lbp3, after end level during loading screen i get no system storage error ( tested also others games, no errors there.). I have about 250-260gb free space.Sometimes it happens, after i play 3-4 levels, sometime it dosent happen. Sorry for bad grammar.

I have several major problems with this game right now.

1) After I completed the levels to get the last of Toggles 3 marbles I kept spawning under the Zigurat play area and falling to my death.
When I would load the Zigurat level from my pod the same thing would happen.

After that, I played the top-down yeti level again and spawned back in the Zigurat hub level (without constantly falling to my death).

2) When I get to the area shown in the video (below), there are no marbles (even though I got them all), the Toggle statue is gone,
and there is no changing room doors to change into another character.

I am unable to progress any further in the game.

3) I also can't purchase/download the rare week-1 shirts from the store.
It says they are all free but I can't add them to my shopping cart.

4) I also can't find any of the LBP3 (digital version) pre-order T-shirts in my outfit inventory.
I know I'm supposed to have them because I saw the unlocker download when I bought the game from the PSN store,
and I still have the unused unlocker for the PS vita version visible on my XMB.

5) Almost all of my LBP2 levels/objects are unusable/broken when I use/load them in LBP3. They just fall apart.
I think it might have something to do things being glued/attached together using hologram material(with black stickers to become invisible).

My Transformers and Mighty Morphin Power Ranger vehicles fall apart when I use them.

... I simply don't get how BETAs can run better than full games.
Answer: The last LBP3 Beta version was created after the current Release Candidate version that we are playing right now.

The beta I played wasn't perfect, but the level/profile import features were definitely 1000x better than the full version's.
And my LBP2 Transformers (the few that I imported as a test) didn't mysteriously fall apart.

I am looking forward to those beta enhancement/fixes in an upcoming patch.

With all this beta testing we are doing for you guys I feel like we should earn some Bug Blasters lol. I kid but great game.

My thing I want to report is that when playing on PS3 after PS4 some of the trophies are not available I think because of the pins already being unlocked. The ones I had trouble with were-

- They can swim?
- I. AM. INVINCIBLE!
- Freshman Creator
- Back to School

This also means the Platinum is also not available. I fixed these by backing up and deleting my save data and then starting and not connecting to online to update my pins prior to achieving these trophies. This is a big problem for Back to School though as I didn't have the Newton costume on the new profile so to fix that I reloaded my old glitched one and copied Newton to a Sackbot on my moon and loaded a second user to my moon and they put on the costume by copying it from the Sackbot and then I again backed up and deleted my save data and started in offline mode with two controllers and copied the newton costume from that user to a Sackbot and copied it back to me before starting the level and getting the trophy. I also believe that Senior Creator and Graduation Day have this issue as well but I was unable to confirm as I deleted the save data prior to trying for them the first time.

Sorry for the run on sentence in the middle there I wanted to explain exactly what I did and I'm not the best with grammar.

Also I experienced a weird bug on the PS3 where in the last cut scene before the last boss Oddsock was missing and when I got to his part of the level at his part I just died repeatedly instead of spawning. Resetting fixed this issue but in the last cut scene after that reset Swoop was missing. This is on top of the regular bug on both consoles of Oddsock changing costumes in the middle of a cut scene but on PS3 Toggle was also getting in on the fun.

Thanks for listening and I really hope this gets fixed, I can't be the only trophy hunter out there. Also a Bug Blaster would be nice

Found a serious game breaking issue today.

This is a picture of me playing Portal Gun Demo Level. The power up you see is not part of the level. Its a gun from a previous level I played that day, LittleBigLabs. My entire Sack Pocket was filled with items from that one level I played. It seems that the game will save your sack pocket contents to your character and let you access them in any community level.

This has some serious game breaking potential.

This is on PS3, by the way.

There are also some other minor issues I have found. Occasionally the texture for water will vanish, leaving an invisible ocean that you can swim in.

Also, sometimes if you hit a hazard like spikes at an angle or at a certain speed, the animation will play at an angle, causing you to fall off the side of the screen instead of the bottom

Need to add that my Popit menu in Create Mode is completely ghosted out. Can't use goodies bag, cursor, stickers, etc. It seems nobody else is having this problem... I've deleted and reinstalled the game (physical copy PS3) to no avail. Create mode only allows me to hover/land and it's always paused like I mentioned in another post. So I have been playing this game and encountered a LOT of issues that are game breaking for me., I'm not sure if they have been reported because I don't feel like reading every post on this thread.
Also I'm using PS3 digital version.

It's extremely hard to join my friends and play levels with them. 90% of the time I get the "Failed to load player profile" message when joining them, or they get it when they join me. We were excited about playing lbp3 story together but that's impossible now.

I can't place stickers anywhere except when I'm in story mode. My friends can't either,

Only the game leader can see names of level links, otherwise it's just blank without an icon for the other players.

I can unlock my LBP2 items but when I try to unlock my LBP items it freezes.

I have the move pack, pets costumes, toy story costume and level pack which came with LBP2 special edition. In LBP3 it doesn't let me use that dlc.

Not sure if this is a glitch, but the loading screens last really long. Probably about 2 minutes long.

Swoop can fly to the top of the pod and glitch through the ceiling.

When playing the level "Tutu Tango" my friend suddenly couldn't open her poppit, or switch between toggle sizes.

If you play story with more than 1 friend it is constantly freezing and diverging.

I've only been playing this game for a few days and these are the glitches I found.
I really hope these can be fixed soon, It seems like beta should have went on longer. I'd rather wait for the game to be stable, instead of being disappointed. I mean, 60$ is a lot of money to be wasted. The first few minor glitches I encountered didn't really bother me. I understand that the game just came out, so I give you guys credit.., but this game is almost unplayable. Although this game is really buggy it has so much potential. I love the story so far, it's awesome. Hope a patch comes soon.

I just encountered another bug. I just now unlocked the Ziggurat and there is a glitch regarding my play progress.

In the hub for the Ziggurat, my progress is listed as 23% for the Ziggurat levels
On the planet, outside of the Ziggurat hub, my progress is listed as 35% for the Ziggurat levels


I haven't played any of the Ziggurat levels yet, so my progress in these areas should be 0%.

I solved a few of my problems...

Problem: LBP3 digital pre-order shirts don't appear in the "Torso" category with the other rare T-shirts.
Answer: They only appear on the full outfits page.

Problem: Endless spawn-death when entering the Ziggurat hub level after getting the last marble (and unable to progress further).
Workaround: While falling I kept trying to access my sackpocket and eventually (after a few minutes) the cut-scene for the next level loaded.
I was able to finish the rest of the game but I still get spawn-death if I try to enter the Ziggurat hub level directly.

After 1 full day of playing i discovered some bugs too:

LBP3 CREATE MODE:

- the black rubber material appeared twice. once under "black rubber" and one time as "random
object" it jumped if you let it drop after building it without losing momentum. was able to
watch it bounce without an end. the normal "black rubber" just dropped without any effect.

- the tar bubble animation item disappears in play mode

LBP3 STORY MODE:

- several checkpoints did not let me respawn again. every time on the same spot. had to ace it to continue the story mode.

- oddsock changes costumes randomly in cutszenes, toogle at a later point too.


LBP3 ONLINE LEVELS:

- The animated R3 Button icon appears out of random on wrong places. (the one if you choose "newest levels" and others which lets you open the filters section) last time it appeared in the middle on the top edge of the screen upsidedown. (this is rare to happen)

- If you use the filter system to show only LBP3 user generated levels all LBP3 levels fail to
load. Only in the LBP-Picks it works mostly. But on newest levels or most hearted it fails to
load them. (that happened 100% of the times i tried it)

- If you use the filter system to show only LBP3 user generated levels all LEVEL SETS act
weird if selected. A message appears right after selection "there is a new version, do you
want to use the old files or update it? updating will delete your game progress. (below of
that text are "update" and "continue" as buttons. i didn't want to press update, because i did
not know if its story mode progress or just that level set that that user created. but why
shold ask me that if i never seen that level set befor? it was in the "newest levels"
section...) IF YOU CHOOSE CONTINUE IT CRASHES THE GAME (tested 5 times, happened every time)

- If you press on MORE in the newest levels section it loads the same set of levels again. and
again. and again. you can scroll up and see the same levels repeat
and repeat. As in if you press 10 times on MORE the same levels appear 10 times in the list.
(happens often, but not allways - lets say 75%)

- If you select one of the categories like "team pics", "newest levels"... it happens 25% of
the times i press X to see the menu behind it, but the game does nothing. but the sound that i
pressed x to selecte it plays. trying it again opens the menu. no big deal but still a bug.

- If you stay to long in the section for "newest levels", "most hearted levels" it crashes
after a while of browsing.

- If you only filter for LBP3 levels sometimes after going out of the menu and in again the
LBP3 and LBP2move is activated only out of random without my doing. (happend 5 times to me
now)

- The earth and moon designs of other users stay in the pod if you go back out of all menus.

- Not a bug but annoying: If a level fails to load it throws you back out of the full menu.
I would like to try again, and not search it again, and often forget how i found the level which failed.

LBP2 ONLINE LEVELS:

- If i play my LBP2 levels i notice that a lot of logic don't works anymore.
Sensors don't react. Levels get rendered unplayable if those bugs happen during the story of a
level where it is needed to continue. (In my level i had transparent material blocking
sackboys path, which is destroyed after the dialog but it simply stays there. that happens if
its scripted with the dialog or if i based it on sackboys movements.) Some people already start with
comments that i should fix the bugs and the game is breaking at the last level of my level set, which is frustrating.
But of course i cant fix it atm. (not yet, which brings me to the next point

- There is no option to hide LBP2 levels from LBP3. This is important because you get a bad
reviews and comments how bad and buggy your level is. It's annoying and some people I know even
deleted them and said they will upload again when LBP3 is fixed.

- Lights in LBP2 Levels gotten bright and annoying. Old levels which used to have less light
now appear with to much light which is for some levels way to bright and sometimes you cant
see anything anymore because of it. (I guess some lights turn to 100% again in LBP3)

- Missing subtitles on some parts, but not allways.

- The DLC items (at least some materials) from LBP2 did not work in my own LBP2 levels if i tried to play it. some
appear as black, some as white and some ans transparent items. they lost all glow.

- All fire effects look weird. If sackboy burns and moves/jumps it looks even worse.
It's like LBP3 fire is on PS2 grafics. Also i had an level where sackboy shoots fire balls,
they don't glow anymore and appear allmost unseen.

- There is no sign to see if a level is LBP2 or LBP3. the LBP1 icon is still on the level
badge, but no LBP2 icon. This is a must have in my eyes.

- Many LBP2 levels show grafic bugs like tearing and missing textures.


LBP.ME

This is no bug, but why does we need to downgrade the good running old layout?
a) it don't shows "1 day ago". "1 month ago" messages anymore if you look at level activities.
i loved that feature it was important for me to see how often my levels get played in the
last day or week.
b) Older activities disappear very fast. It only shows like the 10-20 oldest activities. the
old layout let you scroll and load a lot more. It makes me sad, i liked as it was, i was used
to it.


NOTES:

I currently play at my friends console. And it's his game. It's a PS4 and a german (EU)
version of LBP3. I will get mine later, because i had to import it from the US. And that takes time.


EDIT: (forgot to say)
I would have prefered that all other layers than the 3 layers of LBP2 would have been blocked if you play LBP1&2 levels that include the layer glitch for design parts. you can walk on them and break the levels with doing so.

I got new bug, when i try to play newest level , the game just goes to ps4 main screen. Not always, but very often annoying as hell. I must say this game is as buggy as bf4 during launch.

i do think some bugs are related to that huge profile file.

Well there's a couple bugs that's been bugging me, since I haven't seen it on here(unlike all the others I've had have shown up). I'm using the ps4 version

-First, when I was trying to make a top down level, the controllinator seems broken. I plugged in a forwards and backwards to the top and bottom l-stick. And when i went to test it, up and down worked fine. But I could also move left and right for some reason. Though they were reversed (ie. i push left, the guy moves right). Funny thing is I HAD NOTHING PLUGGED INTO L/R OF THE CONTROL STICK.

-Another Glitch in create mode, when I got a broadcast chip for 3D or topdown movement, (Not sure if it just happens to be with those or all broadcast chips) whenever I edited it, or pushed rewind and what not, everything in the broadcast chip stopped working. Even though it showed up on my sackboy and i was in play mode.

TONS OF GAME BREAKING BUGS! MOST IN MULTIPLAYER.

What I found most baffling is that the most severe and prominent bugs affecting the game aren't listed at all, and here I was thinking this would be patched soon. Here are the issues affecting a ton of people . . .

Issue #1: The only thing I need for the platinum trophy is the 4 player Race to the Stars quest (and no I'm not just playing for the trophies, I'm a fan of LBP), but every time I try inviting friends (been trying for 4p 2 days now), after saying joining it will say they left, OR it will kick us from the game to the blue error CE-34878-0 screen. We're all on PS4 version. Not sure if it's in every version. This error has also happened to myself and others while solo.

Issue #2: Names of friends that are on LBP3 (and yes on the same console version) take ages to appear under Friends so you can re-invite or re-join, even though the PS4 dashboard shows them on the game.

Issue #3: Sometimes when I restart the game after getting kicked with the error in Issue #1, it won't let m connect to the LBP servers. I have to try to connect over and over for like 2 minutes straight before it lets me online, which kind of sounds similar to issue 2 where it takes minutes for it to read the other Friends on the game.

Issue #4: Profile becoming corrupted. This one has not happened to me, but it has to many many people, even multiple times per a person. Would I get a profile corrupt message if my profile was corrupt? Or is the game crashing issue a symptom of corrupt profile, so I might have a corrupt profile and not be aware of it?

These are the most urgent and serious bugs affecting the game because it almost makes it unplayable, mainly in multi.

ZIGGURAT GRAND HALL - BUG & WORKAROUND FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING THIS.

Last night, after finally re-doing all content due to not being able to collect sticker switch stickers and backgrounds (apparently Sumo considers these 'Community Objecst"), I was suddenly unable to load into Ziggurat. It was loading me under the spawn gate and immediately dropping me into gas, resulting in constant spawn deaths. I shut my system off for the night, hoping it would correct itself today. It didn't.

I just found a workaround this evening. As soon as you load in (or between deaths) you need to equip your boost boots. You have to be fast, but it can be done if it's loading you into the same spot it was for me. Once you have them, start boosting between deaths and respawns. I had to go right, try and connect my boots on something solid to re-set them, then up again and to the left. Eventually I found a spot on the left side where I could land and jump down from. It's a right pain in the keister. I hope that helps anyone experiencing this bug.

The only problem is, I'm now experiencing the NO STATUE AND MARBLES BUG!! I swear, you just can't win with this game.

EDIT: So apparently, on going back in, the problem has once again surfaced. Seems like the only workaround is on Sumo's end.

I think , the profile bug is something related to the server, becasue now the loading is much faster than before. So it must be server side.

Well since I'm now bugged with the Ziggurat spawn and no statue or marbles and can't even consider finishing story mode, I'm in create.

It looks like a whole bunch of your MATERIALS are messed up too. Some that I'm assuming should be opaque are transparent or have edges that are. I wasn't in the Beta so can't be sure what's supposed to look like what... too many to list, you dev's will have to throw in a copy and go look for yourselves at this point.

To be honest, and to add to my last post, this has to be the buggiest launch for any game in my history of gaming. I just don't understand how this could happen. These aren't like minor bugs where they may go unnoticed by developers until people play it.

Don't get me wrong, aside from the bugs, I believe Sumo Digital and all involved did an excellent job on LBP3. Love the new innovations and improvements over past games. But they released the game in a broken state almost as if it was not even tested.

Do developers even bother playing a game themselves before releasing? And I mean the same version everyone else will get, not the developer's version. There is no way it was played.

Well regardless I have full confidence that once the bugs are ironed out this gem can finally shine. I know this post will probably get deleted, but just wanted to say that. I am not bashing Sumo. Just more baffled how this many severe bugs got past. This is probably something I cannot understand since I am not a developer. Just seems to me that playing the game before releasing, including online multiplayer and on both systems, would reveal these things since they are common enough to affect 90% or more of the game's population.

Just discovered the Weather Material while importing my own snow machine. AWESOME idea, and this will save tons of thermo! Thing is, the snow animation is rain, just longer drops. Not sure if it's broken or the animator has never actually seen snowflakes. Either way, it's not snow and needs fixing at some point.

EDIT: Appologies. I hadn't noticed there were two separate materials because so many of my Popit items are showing as doubles. This is in reference to the Sticker Weather Material, not the Weather Material as stated above. This material is actually quite lovely and the dev's nailed it on this! Very nice job on this indeed! Though there is the issue of it blurring my camera when running past this material, it's not game breaking but really hard on the eyes when moving around, which makes it questionable to use for anything other than windows in the background.


Everything in my comments below concerning the opacity issues and not being able to size stickers still applies though.

I think someone mentioned the same issue. They deleted one level and then it worked where they had all twenty lbp3 level slots. My earth has 19 levels and it shows I have 0/20 lbp3 levels.

I actually just realized what they were going for. You need to add a sticker into the category on the material, then it makes that sticker your snow/rain. It's actually quite a brilliant idea, but falls down when trying to change the size of the image or intensity. Needs more tweakability to be an effective replacement for my snow machine. I want a thick cartoony flake snowfall gently coming down, and the only way to do that is to layer poop-tons of this material on all layers. Also, it's causing my camera to go horribly out of focus when I move around in the level.

EDIT: This is actually the Sticker Weather Material I'm talking about, as opposed to the Weather Material.

The more I play with it the more I realize it's a bit of a failed attempt at a fantastic idea. Along with the blurring of my camera from this, the material itself isn't fully transparent, so even one sheet darkens everything. Layering numerous sheets to get a decent effect darkens it a whole lot more. You can't bring down the transparency because you lose the image.

Looks like I'll be sticking with my own snow machine I guess, unless they address these issues.


EDIT #2: Once a sticker is placed in the material and you begin adding or editing other things in the level, it reverts back to showing the type of weather chosen as opposed to the actual sticker you've placed into the animation.

Hello, I made an account on here today just to let you all know of a bug I encountered, which I have yet to see anyone else post about (pardon me if there is one).
I was playing with a couple friends in one of their moons, and had switched to a character I was doing some animation work on. Afterward, I had switched to Toggle, which caused the game to diverge. I wound up in an endless loading screen, so I restarted to game to get back in. However, as soon as I reached my Pod, I found that I was glitched as the animation testing character, which happened to be constantly spinning in circles. When I went to change the character, I discovered it somehow overrode my default Sackboy character.

The animation test character has disappeared from my character list, and I've tried changing to other characters and back, yet the custom Sackboy is still glitched as the default one. He spins in the Moon, he spins in the Pod, and he spins in story/community levels.

I've already tried creating a backup and loading it up, but it's of course the same. I'd really like to keep everything I worked for, and not have to start over for something like this. I have yet to read about this same glitch, but of course I'd love to hear from someone who has had it happen to them as well. Also, sorry for the long story, but I felt like I should explain how it came to.

(TL;DR: It seems to me a diverge overwrote the default Sackboy with a custom one, which is constantly spinning.)

Even though this is the definitive LBP game, I can't blame reviewers from rating it lower when even basic functionality is not working properly. My hope is that they at least fix the more problematic issues soon, but I am disappointed. I don't think I'll be buying another LBP on launch again because of this.

So I created an Adventure on my moon, empty. Locked it and published it. The published adventure had no visible lock whatsoever, but when I returned to my moon after deleting the online adventure slot, I discovered that the moon adventure slot had a lock and I couldn't even select it to try and delete or edit it. Nor could I copy or move something over it.

Also, many sound objects are missing, for example, LBP1's final boss battle music (so epicccc), it show in the Popit yet there's no music in the thing. It even prompts me to delete it (yes, from the music section in the Goodies Bag) lol.

The most important of it all is where is Sleepy Head!?! (Main theme from LBP2)

Well, I am a developer (albeit, not a game developer), and I also have no wish to bash Sumo, but I can't understand it either. In my opinion, releasing something this buggy is almost unforgivable.


Just seems to me that playing the game before releasing, including online multiplayer and on both systems, would reveal these things since they are common enough to affect 90% or more of the game's population.
You would certainly think so, wouldn't you? But since we don't know the internal struggles at Sumo and Sony, it may be unfair to blame the developers or the QA folk. As was suggested earlier, there may have been unreasonable pressure from above to deliver before Black Friday.

At any rate, I have nothing new to add here, as the few bugs I've encountered thus far have all been mentioned above. What I've seen so far, bugs notwithstanding, has been great and has the potential to be the best LBP yet. So here's hoping the patches come early and often!

The one with proper snow is in the same material category. I think it's called Weather Material, while the one you were referring to is called Sticker Weather Material.

Part 2:
I allready posted a list of bugs earlier in this thread, now at day two of myself playing LBP3 (german EU disc version / PS4)
i have this little details to mention; This time no big new bugs and i assume most other bugs are more important to fix but... (except the one with the LBP3 user levels which is a big bummer for me atm.)
...but still worth to mention:

LBP3 USER LEVELS

- now i cant even load any lbp3 user level that is not a beta imported team-pick. (even when i dont use the filter system) it allways
fails loading. (mostly tested that with "newest levels" it seems that it is not even trying to load it, because the error appears just after a short loading time.
so no lbp3 user content for me i guess. that is a serious thing (its not because of a bad internet connection)
(lbp2 and 1 levels don't have that issue but fail to load sometimes too. but most of the time they load. but whats the point on playing them if they are broken anyway 80%? this and additonal not loading LBP3 levels renders the online part of the whole game broken for me.)

POPIT-ACADEMY

- as i came back to continue playing semester 2, i saw that both semester 1&2 had 100% written
on it. but semester 2 said "2 of 7 levels". 100% collected should be
impossible if i only played 2 levels of them yet. the problem disappeared after playing a few more levels,
but it seems as if i read previous post that the game oftens has issues with the true % number of collected items.
(also in story mode)

- many of the voices can be disturbed and stop when you don't expect them to stop.
for example in one level of world/semester 2 (not sure how it is called in the english
versions) if you go into the goal the voice text stops. why could she not finish her
sentences if you go into the goal? she is standing right next to me... but thats me being
picky i guess. but it sure annoyes me if i can move and it begins a new sentences right in the
middle of the last one. i would suggest the player being unable to move until they finish
saying what they say, or until the player pressed circle to skip it.

- in sememster/world 1 if you need to use the edge corner tool you sometimes cant reach parts
of where you should be able to edit it. if you try it again it works. but often not on first
try. (its not that i am standing to far away, reusing the tool fixes the issue, no big deal,
but if you are new and try to learn you think you are limited with how far you can reach with
the popit cursor which you are not.)

- you cant play the sackbot level if you set certain bots to be big toggle, he keeps getting stuck on buttons.
no big issue for me since you can rewind and/or let it be a normal sackbot as intended, but if you
consider that it was made to allow new people to learn how everything works and if they mess around they
might not notice that its not the logic which is not working its just toggle being stuck.

STORY MODE

- sometimes characters continue talking if you go into the pause menu (as in pressing options
on the ps4 controller during the level) no big deal, but if somebody opens your rooms door and
comes inside and you pause the game to talk to that person you miss the dialog. and would
need to replay the whole level to hear it again. (not sure if that happens everytime, but it
happened twice now out of random)

- also sometimes the chars continue talking for a while if you're allready in the loading screen (going
back to the world map). as if the level is not fully shut down and continues while it
loads, which should not happen right? it slows down the loading times? i am no developer but
isnt that the case?)

- and sometimes mini toggle becomes fully invisible and stayes that way (except when playing big toggle)
reloading the level is fixing this.

CREATION MODE

- a friend of mine reported to me that if he sets "ignore tag: ... " and "use tag: ..." in logic is reverses doing what it should.
(was not able to test it myself, but i trust my friend enough to post it.)

TUTORIAL VIDEOS

- i currently play a german version of the game and many tutorials videos are in english. i assume that is
because the game is not official out in germany and they did not link/updated the german content as videos until its official out.
if that is a bug it should get fixed; my lil sis wants to learn how to build too. if its no bug and just needs me to wait for them to update german videos to the servers than nvm.

PS4 PSN DLC

- not one DLC can be found in the german PS4 PSN store yet. assuming that the release of LBP3 in germany is just two or three days away they should hurry with updating it. (its possible that this is no issue and its all there at the day of release, but if is an issue, than i thought i should mention it. how was it done with the US PS4 DLCs?)

EDIT:
LBP2 USER LEVELS:

- sackbots in self made costumes often glitch. their body gets deformed and sometimes press themselfs to the ground. it mostly happend when having them talk with a speach bubble.

- sackbots in self made costumes often have issues with stickers on them. they relocate, resize and some dont even appear.

- sackbots which are burning can not collect score bubbles. (in one of my levels you have to)

EDIT:
EARTH

- stickers/decorations used for the earth show different. some disappeared.

- i dont remember what material it was (back in LBP2) but i had it as a black background on my earth to put stickers on it and now it's white and you can see all black stickers which i used to hide parts of other stickers. (I assume that is because some DLC content is missing, but why? are DLC textures not preinstalled on the disc to be able to see them in previous LBP2 levels?)

I don't know if this has been reported yet, but I have run into a ***** of a bug that is destroying my creations.
I don't know how it's triggered, or if there is any way to reverse it, but seemingly at random, my thermo exploded while creating, and I thought nothing of it because it immediately went back down. I am a frequent saver, and it wasnt until I pressed play that I realized my ENTIRE LEVEL had copied itself under itself. All of the geometry and items had duplicated directly over one another, and this made any non static items break immediately. I tried to rewind, but doing so exactly 3 times crashed LBP3 to the PS4 home screen.

This has happened to me 3 times today, luckily after my experience with LBPSP and some of the corruptions happening in 1 and 2, I had backed up the level earlier this afternoon, and was able to restore it.

Just thought I would point this out. Its not user error. It happened a few times, seemingly at random, and to someone less vigilant at backups, this could destroy days of progress in seconds.

On a side note, I was able to play the level, and the sound of 2 checkpoints being triggered at the exact same time is freaking awesome...

Here's some issues/problems I've encountered while playing Lbp3(PS3):
- character dialogue continuing even when I pause the game
- there are times when I enter a level from one of the story hubs, my sackboy reverts to his original appearance(Belly of the Beast)
- oddsock randomly switching between costumes during cutscenes
- during the first phase of the final boss with toggle, it may take additional hits before the second phase with swoop begins. This happened during my ace run of the level where it took five bombs instead of three.
-background is a foggy green color making it impossible to see anything while in the pod. I have to leave the pod controls and use it again to reset things back to normal.
- inability to connect with other players or vice versa. So far my mutiplayer experiences have been restricted to local.
- lantern power material visibility problem. Even on the highest brightness and opacity, it's barely visible.
- I cannot sticker anything in create mode whether it's my character or an object
- majority of my items from lbp2 are marked as a red and black exclamation point symbol despite being usable. My lights from the previous game are gone as well.

With that out of the way I have a question regarding DLC... I own a physical copy of LBP2 Special Edition which includes the move pack and other costume/level packs. Despite having all the items and access to them in the 2nd game I cannot use them in the third one. I'm told I do not own it and have to buy it out of the LBStore. However, this isn't the case with the metal gear solid pack that comes with my LBP GOTY Edition. Is there a way around this as I do not want to waste money buying DLC packs I already own.

I can not capture or emit an object that has an Opacity Tweaker on it.

Another possible bug, but not sure if you guys intended this or not. I just noticed none of my personalized categories in my Popit I made in LBP2 came over with my profile. Oddly enough, a bunch of Star Wars costumes that are both community made and my own creations got thrown into some category the game has called MY EARTHS, but only those that were in my Star Wars category. The MY EARTHS category only appears under Costumes.

I found another bug. Manglewood and Ziggurat are completely messed up now. When I enter Manglewood, doors next to NPCs (like the burger lady) do not appear. There's also no more spoken dialogue. The entirety of the floor where the starting portal has disappeared, including the portal and Marlon Random so it sends me to another portal in the level to spawn.

Ziggurat is the hugest problem as it spawns me through a portal I never even knew existed (like it's invisible or they forgot to remove it when making the level) above some fiery coal where the helmet zipline is. I infinitely die and respawn. Another note, the cutscene hub on the map leading to Ziggurat is gone, replaced by a blank island circle.

Personal thoughts: I feel like we're the guinea pigs for the UK release. I was in the beta for LBP1 and I barely had anything to report. I keep trying to play because this game is fantastic, but the longer I do (with mostly everything collected and beaten), more insane bugs keep coming.

It should be the same for both systems. Try this. Go into your pod, then select Start. Got to Settings and scroll down to Profile. From there you can Merge your LittleBigPlanet profiles.

(PS3) The story hubs breaking NEED to be the first issue fixed as its nearly unavoidable. I have wasted countless hours redoing the story in different ways, including leaving the characters as default to always end up with missing platforms in the hubs.. relevant even after reaching the final level of LBP3. This has halted collection of story prizes and locked levels where the new characters are required. Deleting your game data profile and importing a backup savegame actually makes hubs break further. Importing a backup in which the hubs worked previously DO NOT correct the problem as well. For a game this beautiful and full of creativity, I'd rather deal with its many bugs than be unable to collect all of the prizes for use in create mode. I responded there, but I'll add it here too. This actually has nothing to do with when you leave the screen. I had this same issue with not receiving my sticker switches and background prizes, and then someone tipped me off to the fix here. You need to go into your settings and Turn ON "Collect Community Prizes". Yup, apparently these guys consider Story Mode rewards community prizes. -_-

The really frustrating part is now you have to go and replay all the levels with those rewards in them. Good luck remembering which ones they are.... I couldn't, so had to replay almost the entire game.




I hope they get patched before the Europe release

An apology would probably be a good starting point.

I saw that too. If watching their test feed of them setting up their camera is any indication, it's not going to go well and explains a lot about why the game is in it's current state.

I'm also curious to see what 'spin' they put on the current state of the game, and see what they avoid answering. It's pretty upsetting to see them so quiet since launch. Not responding to the people who line your pockets is terrible customer service, and only gives the impression that you DGAF.

An apology would be great. It might be nice to spruce that up with free Bug Blaster costumes for everyone who's already bought the game and tested it for them, as well as a cheat code that UNLOCKS ALL CONTENT for those of us who have had to replay the game several times because of their bugs and don't want to do it again (never mind the impossibility of acing anything with 4x Players due to historical lag issues with this franchise). Heck, I found tons of bugs while Beta testing LBP2 and never got a Bug Blaster outfit then... you'd think I deserve one for doing this twice for them now.

Free bug blaster outfit and honestly, another free costume pack of some sort and either an unlock or being able to send them your totally busted save data and have them fix it. This game effing rules, sweet music selections like LBP1, imaginative levels, non-annoying NPCs, no annoying story mode shooter levels, a great tutorial that helps me understand create mode and doesn't treat me like I should know everything like a pro designer but these bugs are absurd and I am almost seeing IGN's point. LBP2 USER LEVELS

- DC Comics DLCs Dynamic Space Background Material is just black material in LBP3
And all DC Comics DLCs Hologram similar Materials with glow can not be seen in LBP3
(Why are those skins/materials not preinstalled on the disc? I don't want people to buy DLCs just to be
able to see them ingame)

- because there is no option to lock the levels for LBP2 usage only i tried to include "LBP2 only"
into the title. but:
- I can not rename my old LBP2 levels. (I assume that is because of missing DLCs,
but it don't shows why that is not working, it just shows an error that it failed)

- some/most scripted close up from sackbots shows very very blurry. This was not present in LBP2.
The new blur features should not be present in the game if you play old LBP2 levels. Some of
them are made in special ways and that breaks a lot. Its often happens when you don't need it.
Sometimes whole parts of the levels appear blurry which where sharp in LBP2.

- Many explosion or material disolvings (and else) look way to different in LBP3
for example if i destroy a burning holo material it showed nice orange effects when destroyed
but now i have ugly deep blue and black effects in it which is not what i want if it was
used for level design. (Also the slime splat from DLC looks weird. i used it so it splats, not
that it makes bright white and black with rainbow filled effects.) (That could be the fault of
the material itself - needs further tests) [can be seen nice when you play shookie_monster's
honey hive hereo race from the picks all orange honey splats are now black main and
rainbowish.

- stickers disappear. stickers on sticker panels change transparency. and many logic and
spawning glitches or don't works at all. examples to recrate it:
- in fat rick by dicebone-21 you see a half transparent frame around fat rick, which was not
present in lbp2. (this is not to fix this level just to show how materials change and get
visible in LBP3) it seems that costum rotated and replaced textures replace themself as well.
- if you play "temple of water pressure" by utpicdreamer you spawn wrong and the game breaks
instantly, making you not able to play the level at all. (i think that are spawning and player
sensor problems with LBP2 levels). (posting this so the creators can take a look at the logic
what went wrong while it works with LBP2 but not in LBP3)

- why is there no filter option if you use the text search to find levels?

- why if you go to an option like "most played" and than hit text search there it never finds
anything? while it works for "most hearted"...

- one user thought it would be a nice idea to put giant decorations on their earth.
now because LBP3 don't resets the background it blocks me from seeing anything. if i want to find anything else. or change search options.
(also it annoys me that the last viewed user earth design is used while i see my own levels on

ONLINE LEVELS DETAILS

- If checking the records i noticed that if the level has a long name, than the Letters are
cut off on top of the screen. (differs how much from level to level)
- If checking the records "online records" and the triangle icon are cut in half. also to far
down while in the middle is nothing. (differs how much from level to level, only happens with

- if checking full screen details of a level the yay counter gets unreadable if you highlight
it. (it should change the color as the other text too, but it stays at the same highlight

with allmost every color option) (now all of sudden it fixed itself and its written in white
instead of the highlight color. funny. without any update...)

- this is no bug but if checking full screen detail of one of your own levels "locked" "copyable" and "sub-
level" are placed below last activites. i used to scroll down quick and open last activities.
now i am scared that i often set it to copyable accidentally if i don't watch out. i prefer it
back where it was in LBP2. there is even empty space which could be better used for that
options.

- if you use the bright blue option for your player color, white text makes you a hard time to read it if you browse
on user earths.

EDIT:
an update arrived for the EU version! (downloading it right now)
(this is now the second update i install since i first installed the game itself where it offered an update right ahead as well - so its not the case that i had no first day patch the whole time)

I was messing around with created characters in multiplayer, making giant Newtons, and upside-down Sackbots doing silly animations. I constantly changed between them, and the then eventually, somehow, when I became normal Sackboy, the game PERMANANTLY replaced "Sackboy" with an upside-down Sackbot doing a weird animation! It keeps me like this EVERYWHERE, including the Pod and ANY Sackboy levels. Although I am able to use the pod controller upside-down, and the other characters are fine.2014-11-24 21:08:00

LBP3 expanded the number of playable characters from 1 to 4, the number of layers from 3 to 16, and introduced a ton of new tools for create mode, not to mention the fact that the game had to be released before the holidays on both PS3 and PS4. Not sure if putting the game on multiple consoles was Sony's or Sumo's, but it only doubled the amount of potential problems. Perhaps if the game was not so ambitious then it would not have as many problems.

Still, I do not regret buying this game. The amount of new content is this game is simply amazing and I cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with (after the patch, of course, because of the inability to use stickers). I just hope that next time the developers will have learned from this game and be more realistic with their goals, or at least test it much better.

So I was playing as a custom character on a friend's moon, and the game diverged. When I got back to my pod, the custom character had replaced sackboy permanently. I didn't matter what mode, Sackboy was the custom character. The problem is that the custom character broke, and now I can't play story mode. AFTER THE new (EU PS4) UPDATE from today:

- splash and other destroy effekts look better in LBP2 user levels now! (those of my own level and those of my example form the honey hero race work better now and have their right colors back) (still not the same as in LBP2, but its an improvement.

- i am finaly ABLE TO PLAY LBP3 USER LEVELS! (and LEVEL SETS)

NEW BUGS:

LEVEL LISTS

- if creating a level-list and not adding a level to your first one will cause the game not to show you the list if you are in the menu where your lists appear and lets you choose from them. you have to add one level to one of your lists first to see your level-lists (at least thats what happened to me. i created 2 lists because i thought the first one did not work)

- deleting a level-list ingame will leave the level list there - empty and with no text as name - if you click to view it anyways even if its empty (as in having no title text anymore) it crashes the game (this worked as i had two lists, one i wanted to keep and one to delete. the second which i deleted was empty when i deleted it)

2 PLAYER STORY MODUS

- tried to add a controller to do a x2 secret in one story level. game failed to open profile for second stationary player and it threw me out of the level without asking. failing okay, but does it need me to throw me out of the level?

EDIT:

ACTIVITY FEED

- Team Pick Activity Posts list "visit store" and "read further" as only options.
There is no way to play it as it don't lets you click on the level name and it has no "play" option as well.

EDIT 2:

LEVEL INFO (LBP1)

It should be the same for both systems. Try this. Go into your pod, then select Start. Got to Settings and scroll down to Profile. From there you can Merge your LittleBigPlanet profiles.

I'll try that. I went to the setting menu near the moon option and there was no option to update my profile. But I'll check this when I get home.

PS3 Version.

Score Sensor broke after the following:

1. Placed a chip on a sponge material.
2. Inside the chip a Grab Sensor and Score Sensor at a target set to 500 collectibells were placed. Both were connected to an AND gate input.
3. The output of the AND gate was connected to a Score Giver with the collectibells score set to -500.

When a player had collectibles of 500 or more AND grabbed the sponge material, the Score Giver would reduce their collectibells by 500. This worked perfectly fine until the following:

1. Shop Stall is placed with score value of 1,200.
2. Shop Stall's output is connected to an Emiter's input. The Emitter emits a block of cardboard.
3. Switch to Play Mode
4. Spent 1,200 on the Shop Stall.
5. Returned to edit mode and found that the Shop Stall had the check mark on it, indicating the Shop Stall has been activated, yet it still allows me spent my collectibells it.
6. Tested out the score sensor and score giver I've built previously. No change in the score sensor what-so-ever.

The output of the score sensor is always false when currency is set to "Collectables" unless target score is set to zero. The output of the score sensor is false when target is set above 0, regardless of the amount of collectables the player has. I've tried replacing the chip and going to another moon, but the Score Sensor it still broken.

This is a glitch,When cutting material with other material my sackboy gets stuck in one place and he cant move the only way to get him to move it to undo.


It also does it when you use the Slice 'N Dice.

- i copied an early LBP2 level i created on my moon, tried to open it. game crashed.
(i expected it to not being able to open it because of DLC, but a crash?)

SACKBOT COSTUMES/ANIMATIONS:

- Some of Eve's animation styles for sack bots corrupts them (see pics)

- if you want to sticker your sackbots costumes the camera positions change weird and when you dont want it. some camera movements dont do what they should. (also its very hard to place stickers on costumes from above, but that carried over from lbp2)

- sackboy/sackbot is not holding still if you freeze the camera with R3 and than want to sticker them.

EDIT:

- if you set a sackbot to not able to use the controllinator while it was sitting in one, it tries to spawn in the same layer as the controllinator is. (that means if it is a wall where you put your controllinator, the sackbot gets stuck in that wall, even if it appears to be in front of it, you cant move it well, and it glitches out) (at least happend 3 of 4 times i tried to recreate it)

EDIT 2:

- no bug, and it was present in LBP2 as well (but worse in LBP3 now): if you place stickers on sackboys
skin than it happens very often that parts of the same sticker stick out of the very other side of sackboy or where you dont expect it. (for example if you sticker inside his mouth, you get parts of the sticker on his back of the head; if you sticker on belly and forhead you get parts of the sticker on your hands and if you place stickers on legs it often shows on the tongue and other side of the legs as well...) (that goes for clothes and other things to wear too: its also allmost impossible to sticker bunny ears from behind how you want it, cause the same sticker appears the other ear as well)
if its a feature to costumise your own sackboy, than why is it so hard?
(PS: somehow sackboys texture must have changed for a little bit (maybe because of HD reasons) because stickers used on sackbots in LBP2 levels look different now and look weird and wrong placed - in my level they have stickers on their hands while in LBP2 they were clean there.)

Let me explain about this - If you sticker the skin on sackboy either in LBP2 or the PS3 version and bring it over to the PS4 version, stickers will move and screws up your costume. Same thing true if you sticker the skin on the PS4 and bring it to the PS3, the stickers will move.
I only tested it with sackboy, so OddSock, Toggle and Swoop should be the same.

This can be terrible if any LBP2 levels or the PS3 version with either the sackbot or custom character is in the level, PS4 users will see the error in the sticker position that wasn't ment to be place before. Also if this was the other way round, PS3 users will also see the sticker on the skin moved on the sackbot if the level was made on the PS4.

I reported this bug since I got in the beta and I doubt it was fixed in these circumstances.
My costumes has the skin stickered and it sucks that I got the stickers just right and they move if I transfer to the PS4.

I can't get the three prize bubbles on the left of the level entry.

Enable "collect community prices" in start menu to get these bubbles...

Even after a PS Store update there hasn't been any DLC adjustments. The communication from the devs is not enough at this point. Many problems (other than DLC/LBP2 profile import/few audio issues) haven't even been acknowledged yet, and we still have literally no idea when a patch could be coming. As a loyal LBP fan since day 1, I almost feel betrayed.

Oh yea, and the LBP1 Import unlocks is broken too, resulting in missing LBP1 goodies. Not as many as LBP2's missing items, but there are still some missing.

still using a german EU disc version on a PS4

PLAYSTATION STORE:

- in germany i can not see any LBP addons inside the playstation store (the normal one)
you can only purchase stuff if you go into the game. it's fine that ways long you can share the DLC content with your family members who use other accounts on the same ps4... but just in case that it
was not planned that way... ouhm... - scrap that, tried to download the DC Comics DLC, but the
store replies with "no content found"
(tested that with my best friends account, because i used the US version of LBP2 and 1 in past)

ONLINE USER LEVELS:

- activity feed for sub levels is missing. (i used that to see how many make it to the goal and
how many how far into the level set)

- activity feed for any levels (i only have LBP2 levels so far) is broken: you can't click on
"triangle for visit planet" and if it works it leads back to my own earth not ot the one the
activity is refering to. also browsing inside the activity post is not letting me view
activity fotos or go to their planet as well

LBP2 USER LEVELS:

- today i patched one of my levels to work on LBP3 again. i did it in LBP2 while i was switching
from PS4 with LBP3 and with a PS3 with LBP2 constantly - figuring out what logic breaks in LBP.
RESULT: many kind of sensors (mostly for player sensors) don't react if you put them on the
thin front layer. (i assume that is because LBP3 uses new tweeks for them) i took them and
placed them on the background layer/wall instead of the forground and tada they worked again in LBP3.

MAIN MENU:

- the info arrows (when you see the 3 planets in front of you) showed me "0% progress on levels"
on earth and a blank bubble for the popit-tutorial levels. 0% quick changed after a short
while to the real % but the blank bubble stays and is the only bubble which appears right now.

LBP.me

- thank you for adding the time stamps to the current activities from levels! but after clicking
on the "more-arrow-button" it don't loads more. (if nothing is there to load than there should
not be a button to go further. but i know that there is more. it just don't loads them.

TRAILER VIDEOS:

- this is no bug, but:
i was so hyped to finaly add a trailer to my LBP2 level, cut many pices of a long video to 30
seconds and than i realised there is no option to add those to LBP2 levels without having them
on your moon first and then republishing as a LBP3 level. sad. i hope you guys let me
add videos to LBP2 and LBP1 videos without the need to republish or/and change the game tag of
a level.

even if they don't acknowlege them they still fix them. some of the bugs i reported were fixed with the latest EU patch. (bugs which where not acknowleged earlier - fixed silently) i would not worry toooo much, i have trust in them.

but i second this. a rough idea when a patch will arrive would be nice. also many stuff is missing here as well. just didn't mentioned it because many allready said so.

I found two more issues:

1. Whenever I choose an option in the store, my game infinitely loads. No crash or freeze, but no store either, and no way to leave the loading screen, resulting in me quitting and restarting the game.

2. In the army training camp minigame with Swoop, I have successfully gotten 5000 points. However, I was only given 11 of the 17 prizes in the level. This issue happened at first with other minigames, but was quickly resolved upon reaching the scoreboard. However, this particular minigame did not give me the last 6 bubbles when I reached the scoreboard, and even me flying around for a few minutes in the area with the scoreboard doesn't seem to resolve the issue. These are the only prizes keeping me from getting 100% in the entire story mode, so I'd really like to get them! (If it matters, I did die immediately after getting 5000 points, resulting in me dropping to below 5000. However, I completed the mission, got the pin, and got the trophy, so I wouldn't think that would matter.)

I'm on a "thick" PS3 bought in and used often since 2010, if that matters.

Ok, so I am stuck at the prologue on my game. The prolouge is completed and its stuck at 85 percent. I dont see the merge LBP profiles anywhere in the settings( I have checked five times already.) And thats just awesome because now I cannot create any of my levels due to half of the promised DLC and imports are not working. This is on PS4, retail disk.

That said, I am not happy. I have defended LBP3 on every popular forum on the internet. I have been a fan of the game since it first launched in 2008, I have a sackboy plushie and I can hum most of the audio tracks and the amount of created objects on my moon could fill dozens of planets. You can imagine the joy I felt seeing all my levels from LBP2 completely uneditable! Forget not working; I cant even open them because half the promised DLC content isnt even on PS network yet! This is a week after the developers were working to fix the issue.

I am tired of developers releasing games before they are ready, apologizing for all the bugs the game comes with and we, the consumers, spend sixty dollars of our hard earned money to play a broken game.

This is absolutely unacceptable. I dont care if this is a new company. I dont understand how a game could have this many issues after beta testing. How can a Beta run better than the final product? How can the developers play this , mark it OK and send it to stores across the nation? Wheres the marketing strategy in releasing a broken game? I really hope this is fixed soon. ANd I really hope this does not kill the sales of the game. I really want the community to expand, but I, and many others are having a really tough time even playing LBP3.

All I wanted to do was create over the thanksgiving break. I scheduled days off work just to play this game. And now all I can do is wait and listen to the annoying side of my family chew my ear off over how being a game developer is a bad career choice.

I understand Sumo is hard at work on fixing the issues, and I am glad with the close communication with the community. I hope my words dont come across as disrespectful, because if they did, that is not my intent. However, if we the players arent expressing our opinions, we would be encouraging premature distribution of broken and buggy games. Hopefully the community/critic response serves as a lesson to developers that will lead to more solid releases in the future. I hope all the issues are resolved and I will be enjoying LBP3 in a couple weeks, but sadly, I will have to put this down until all the issues are fixed.

I did not pay sixty dollars to be a Beta tester.

I got the game today on PS4 (Australian Extras Edition), and decided to hold off on playing through the story for fear of bugs. Still, I did play a little bit.

First off, I think it's the first level after the prologue, there's three glass-like boxes in a row you're supposed to climb on. For me, the third was invisible (nothing major, but I think a few others later in the level glitched as well).

Also, I decided I might as well go for the trophy that overloads the thermometer in Create Mode. I put down 6 sackbots (One plain, one Sackboy, one Oddsock, one Swoop and one of each Toggle), this took up a fair bit of thermo, so I copied them all together and pasted them... The game crashed the first time. The second time, the screen just froze...

Can't wait for the upcoming patch(es)!


The game's been really fun so far. I played through the Academy Tutorial thing and that was fun

It also won't let me revert back to the Original Moon and Earth, and is currently stuck on my LBP 2 ones. I selected reset and confirmed, it worked, clicked save changes, and then it just changes back to my LBP 2 ones :/2014-11-26 10:32:00

But. no. We'll get no substantial comments from Sumo until after Black Friday. Can't hurt those sales, now. We'll be lucky if we get any comment before Christmas.

That's honestly not the case at all!

I can assure you that we're collecting all of your reports and working hard to investigate these issues.
We're currently finalising Update 1.3 for LittleBigPlanet 3 which will contain fixes for a number of reported issues.

Once we have the last fixes for this update and a scheduled release date locked-in, I'll be able to give everyone a more substantial update.

Okay, now I feel bad.

But some better communication would be extremely helpful here.

Maybe a list you folks have accumulated of every error you are attempting to fix so we are not constantly repeating ourselves with new ones? That would also reassure folks that specific issues they are concerned about will be addressed, not just the "game breakers."
