I am only slightly bummed about missing the beta, I would be more bummed if LBP3 gets delayed into 2015 like LBP2 was delayed into 2011. That would suck. However, LBP3 being delayed means absolutely no Sony games for the rest of 2014 (except Drive Club?) and I'm not sure if they'd allow that... They'd get squashed by the competition. LBP3 isn't really taking THAT big of a step from LBP2, at least it's not built from the ground up, so the devs should be done by then. I'm assuming they've had at least 2 years.

Don't worry, uh... guys that are worrying. The invites are being sent out periodically, so if you're afraid you weren't chosen, either you weren't or you haven't got yours yet. Regardless, codes aren't being sent out, only notifications letting you know you've been registered. If you weren't, fear not! Once you get the game, and it won't be long, you'll be running on the full-fledged, ironed out version! I think that's an equal fairness to those playing it early, but buggy.

I'm looking forward to seeing what crazy crap people come up with. Nothing better at testing the limits than a strive to iron out the kinks and crannies of a beta-branded creation medium. <3 Still, betas are totally serious things. About the discussion going on in the previous thread, about the NDA thing. People who have played the previous beta obviously already know this, but for the newcomers who get in the first betas, it's extremely forbidden to leak anything about LBP3 in the first stages. I'm sure they will notify you on that if you do happen to play the beta, but as my experience with betas and leaking, it could be a mess, (you could even get into trouble). Leaking can be deadly for game too! Just look at the serie The Legend of Korra. I know, (it might not be a game, but I use this as a reference for leaking), but 4 episodes were leaked, forcing Nickelodeon to air the episodes faster than usual. Season 3 started earlier, with 2 episodes a week, but the problem here was that the view ratings were incredibly low, they were forced to move onto going digital. In story wise, nothing has changed, because it was already have been made. But who knows what a studio does when something like that happens. So to keep being on-topic here, it's better not to talk, show or share anything with anyone, until they say you can.

But if you do happen to break the NDA, you might get into real trouble, like they taking legal actions on you. Technically you can't even say you're playing the beta.

All my friends except Fish have been registered for the beta already, so at this point I'm less "I don't really care either way lol" and more "I hope I'm in the beta or I'm going to have a lonely summer" I guess I'll just keep refreshing to see if I get access to the beta forum. When I saw that the bugs were reported,I did not report them twice,I figured first report was enough. I was watching the bugs list on the beta forum closely. I DID get the beta vest though,so my whole effort was not in vain. Bug-less game and a trendy outfit!

I'm wondering how the multiple characters will work (outside of level play). Like can I switch to the other characters at will in the pod or create mode? I'm also curious about the costume settings, but I think the pre-order DLC might have somewhat helped with that (again, somewhat). Will each character have its own story mode (I assume this is a yes, but I would like to know what others think). They mentioned somewhere that it's not going to be like the E3 reveal, that was just to demo. There will be sections in story mode for each character, like, they showed a Toggle-only story level already. But whether they'll each have a world, or the levels are all intermixed, nobody knows yet. I just had a thought of imagine the creating was like lbpk that would be hard with all the new stuff and all. Probably not. LBPK had a different orientation (LBP's side view versus LBPK's top down movement), and it added rotation on various axes. That added a lot of freedom in movement, but also made it more complicated (though IMHO it wasn't that bad, you get used to it). I expect LBP3 will stay much closer to LBP2 controls.

If you get into the beta, here's my advice. Report them. Once is not enough, If 1 person only reports the bug to the dev, it could be over looked. The more reports of a certain bug the better. Lets the Devs know that this a serious bug that's affecting everyone. Hmm, that's bad advice. Bug report forms usually have a severity rating to make sure serious bugs are noticed. If you have a 1000 people each reporting the same 20 bugs that's 20.000 bugs you have to sort through and manually weed out the duplicates. That's a lot of work that could have gone into fixing bugs instead. My advice: read the instructions, do as you're told, and try to imagine being on the other side of the fence, trying to reproduce and fix these bugs.

I'm more interested in seeing the UI and the Pod. I wonder if that stuff has changed much. I don't think they would change the POD, It's iconic to LBP. The UI was given a significant upgrade organizationally wise from LBP1 to LBP2, right? So with the new tools I expect a revision but nothing too significant.

They found that when using a skateboard that swoops ramp never quite made it to the top. lol no no no not really.... I just made that up!!! Lol !!!!!!

If you get into the beta, here's my advice. Report them. Once is not enough, If 1 person only reports the bug to the dev, it could be over looked. The more reports of a certain bug the better. Lets the Devs know that this a serious bug that's affecting everyone. Well,there was this huge list,you see...And it had all the bugs they were already working on. And then the people who reported them,and only one name was in each section. Plus,if you reported the same thing twice,people were quick to respond with "THAT WAS ALREADY REPORTED!" So it was a somewhat tense bugfinding experience.

I don't think they would change the POD, It's iconic to LBP. The UI was given a significant upgrade organizationally wise from LBP1 to LBP2, right? So with the new tools I expect a revision but nothing too significant. It *would* seem logical to get a decent pool to folks to hammer on each platform...but maybe it's early enough in the process that they aren't worried about that yet. I vote for letting people with both a PS3 and PS4 beta both versions. Then they can compare how stuff created on the PS4 behaves and looks on the PS3 and vice-versa (this way I won't have to worry about it in the release version). Maybe they'll do this for Sharkbeta 2: The Second One!

I was referring to the design of it, but yeah that was added and I love the background choices. I would love to customize your backgrounds. The pod walls vanishing is kind of strange to me but It's okay. I did find that very strange about LBP2, and probably a reason why I didn't enjoy it as much. It's like it wanted to be a realistic physics based platformer with sackdolls, yet it had this weird sci-fi element where there were microchips, sackbots, and disappearing Pod walls everywhere. It was confusing seeing those 2 opposing qualities mashed together... However I give Mm props for giving LBP2 a completely new identity from LBP1. It looks like in LBP3 they're going back to their roots, from each video/picture I've seen there hasn't been one 'spaceship' level thankfully. We got a cluster of those levels in LBP2, the Toy Story pack, Muppets pack, Cross-controller pack, DC pack, as well as LBPV. I'm not sure if someone was pushing for LBP's futuristic technologic side but those levels didn't work for me. LBP3's gameplay looks much more light-hearted, and emphasizes on character's abilities rather than fancy power-ups that appear out of nowhere. And as for the power-ups that were shown, they look simplistic yet fun enough to fit the mood of the game. I think Sumo is doing a great job. Now it's time to sit around until I see new content at gamescom, beta videos uploaded on youtube, or maybe somehow get into the beta myself. The first thing I like doing in a sequel is analyzing all of those tiny incremental changes... Hopefully there'll be quite a few.

My level making style tends to be realistic, and I fully agree that LBP2 was a tad too "techno", I tend to use LBP1 materials anway. as for LBP3 I'm still a little skeptic with swoop but other than that I expect a lot from LBP3.

The memories... I remember staying up 'till 1 in the morning watching some lousy twitch stream because the streamer was giving away a beta code for Karting. Even though I picked up the level editor just as easily as the main titles, it was still an unpleasant feat to make anything other than racetracks or battle modes. I don't think any beta users made an effort to squash any bugs because the level editor crashes more than LBP2 in a resource heavy level. Since the keys were given away like party favors nobody must have taken it seriously. It was a good decision to make LBP3 a private beta. I do not want 3 to be a buggy mess. If it means I have to wait for the NDA to dissolve to see any new content, then so be it. I just hope that only the most trustworthy nitpicky users receive beta keys. It's a shame Karting was so bad. I can only imagine the great things we could have seen from it. I mean come on, LBP with a full Z axis? Sheesh. Missed opportunity of the century.

Don't ask how I know that,cause its a long story. There is an PS3 and PS4 version,but the PS4 Beta seems to be more prevalent right now. They seem to be holding on to a few invites for the deserving people they have "missed" also. People have been given codes Via THIS forum messagebox,Twitter and Another LBP fansite I cannot remember the name of. I wish someone on the inside could clear this stuff up. Steven knows! lol (Just to note,this is 20% Speculation,I could be wrong. This is just based on what I've seen.)

You get rewarded for doing good things, you don't do good things to get rewarded. And even then, your not going to achieve the reputation you seek in one week, some of the members here have been active for months if not years. I'm on everyday on LBPCentral and LBP 2 and I never got in! I even have 52 hearts....... You have 14 posts and only signed up in July 2014, who are you trying to fool? Most people receiving a Beta Key will have already been chosen or recommended. The beta is private and has extremely limited places so only those with an established presence within the community, be it the forums or in game, will have a good chance of getting in as they don't want to waste spaces on people that are not guaranteed to actually test or bug report the game, and especially not on those who are less likely to take the beta or the NDA seriously. I suggest you people calm down and wait for the public beta (if there is one).

I wholeheartedly disagree. They need testers to iron things out and said testers need to know their stuff. Sure, you may be good at creating, or finding bugs, but if you didn't make yourself notable, the folks in charge of deciding who got in wouldn't know, and thus they would choose someone who has been more open and willing to share their experiences, which means they would skip over you . This doesn't meant it's a popularity contest, either. They simply needed a sure-fire way to get JUST the people they were confident in, and going based off of helpfulness and activity in a community was probably the absolute best way to find these people. It's limited access, and that's annoying, but it's a perfectly reasonable decision. *I'm using the word "you" as in a general term, not you specifically, duh. Maybe there's going to be a second phase, maybe not. Nobody knows. For now, don't give up hope. Worst case scenario hits and there's no second phase? The game is tested and perfected and those not in the beta are given the best possible experience when the game launches.

They stopped giving beta codes, that's not great. But then someone had a giveaway, And I got a beta code for LittleBigPlanet Karting. Then later, at E3 2014 LBP3 was announced, I was running around like a machine. They're doing the beta differently, D: I hope I get in! (Let's see!) That's why I think I should be in the beta for LittleBigPlanet 3. I've been a fan of LittleBigPlanet since the very beginning, and I really think this is my chance to get in a beta! Also, not to squash anyone's hopes or say anything definitively, but odds are that you'll need to be over 18 to participate just because you cannot sign a legally binding NDA otherwise... I've actually been in the beta - The vita version of LBP. I was so busy finding bugs and reporting them as well as giving feedback. I even awarded a bug blaster because of this. Yes, I know it is an incomplete enviroment to help the devs squash the remaining bugs and get feedback. However, many people (Totally not the ones who have spammed this thread who joined last week ) don't treat it that way and use it as a way to try out the game without helping at all.

A large number of the people getting in seem to be members of some form of spotlight crew or another. I'd venture to say that a strong foundation in critiquing levels gives you an edge when itcomes to beta selection. Which makes sense.

I'm curious if all 4 characters are playable right away It would depend on how much of the story mode is made/playable. In the full game, you get them gradually so If the story mode is complete then I imagine it's the same. But we don't even know if the story mode is in the beta! It might just be create mode, etc. I guess my ONLY hope to get in the beta, is to sing my way in. Don't work. Already tried.

Even if one does not get into the beta, just remember LittleBigPlanet 3 is heading to our PS3s and PS4s in 3 months! Three months can fly by quick, most likely if we don't count the days psychology speaking. With a whole bunch of content coming our way while we wait its going to be even faster! Personally, seeing all of these #LBP3Wishes and the wonderful flow of epic fan-art gets me excited for the release even more forgetting about the date it will come. Its like a refreshing feeling in a kind of way. Who knows, maybe one day the NDA will be lifted from the beta and then we will be filled with epicness! -hyper

Ive always loved LBP, cant wait for this one. The vita one is amazing, still play it, the touch controls are so intuitive as everything in LBP is. Now about the beta, I still remember trying to get in the original years ago it was a gut wrenching affair, but worth it in the end! It was actually the first beta I ever got into.
