LOST Discussion Thread (Season 6 airing Feb)

Archive: 430 posts

Okay, so as most of you LOST fans know, LOST is airing season 5 on the 21st. I Personally can't wait, and decided to set up this thread for season 5 discussion, or any previous season.

Now, before watching season 5 it's probably best if you watch these official catch up videos... even a newbie could watch season 4 after watching the first video. And 5 if they then watched the second.

This recaps 1-3 in great detail in a short amount of time:
zlu6JPNsLIU

This recaps mainly season 4 (at about 2.30):
bIYwaAeh5vg

EDIT: Lost Season 6 is airing Feb 2th (take note - tuesday!). Feel Free to discuss anything here as long as ALL SPOILERS ARE PUT IN SPOILER TAGS! That includes episodes that have aired in America but not UK yet (for when the show starts that is). Also only links to possible spoilers on the start of season 6, I don't want anything in the thread on stuff that has never been aired.

I haven't really read anything you wrote, because I don't want to risk even a single spoiler so close to the beginning of the new season. But I did want to came in here and say this. I AM FREAKIN SIKED about the new season. Can't wait to see where they take it all

(Oh and I won't be back to read any comments either, for the same reason mentioned above xD)

Like you guys, I'm pretty stoked for Season 5. Been a huge LOST fan from day one and I've stuck with it through those tough couple of seasons. Now that there's a definite timeline on when things will be wrapped up I think it's safe to say we're in for great episodes from here on out. Simply cannot wait.2009-01-17 17:12:00

Agreed. Season 6 will be the final one, and they said after season 3 they already know how they're going to end it all. I personally cannot wait I'm going to update the OP with a few rules about posting info on season 5 after the eps....

YES. LOST is definitely the greatest TV show on earth.

So in here, I'll talk about the events before the previous season finale.
Anyone have any ideas on how Locke died?

Not a clue to be honest. Maybe something to do with Charles Whitmore.

also:

Lost will commence with a double episode broadcasting at 9pm on Sunday the 25th of January on Sky 1 in UK.

Just finished watching part two of the premiere. Man, I'm glad I didn't give up on that show. There were times when we thought we'd never learn anything new... and then ABC came to their senses and decided to allow the show to end at season six. LOST always had a beginning, middle, and end; ABC got greedy and wanted to keep the show running as long as possible. That said, the course has been set and you can bet we won't be disappointed with anything from here on out.2009-01-24 15:15:00

The first four seasons are available on DVD here in the U.S., but I'm not sure about international releases. Definitely would be best to be able to sit down and watch a season at a time; avoid those cliffhanger moments that way.

I've got the first 4 seasons on DVD In UK

And it is well worth watching it. It's amazing to go back and see how we got to the point we're at now. And it all makes sense perfectly with eachother (well obviously all the answere/half answered things).

I love it

I actually only got into LOST once Season 3 started. I had heard a lot about the show and finally decided to rent the first couple of episodes of Season 1 to see if I would like it. Well, I fell in love with the show and my wife and I literally ended up watching the first 2 seasons in literally 3 days (this was before we had our daughter)!!! They had a specail deal at the DVD place over here that allowed us to rent things for super-cheap but only keep them for one day. So yeah, it was an unprecedented LOST marathon lol. Since then we have been watching the show religiously

But something is bothering me... what has happened to Bernard and Rose with a few other survivors? I guess we'll find out at some point.

Daniel Faraday is reason enough to keep watching because he contributes nothing to any sort of solution, he only deepens the mystery in each and every scene. I find it hilarious.2009-02-05 18:43:00

I know i'm bumping this thread up, but it's cause of an update

Small spoilers ahead for the next 2 eps (tells you what they will be about).

So the next episode is about how they get back to the island! Awesome! Didn't expect it that fast! I'm glad they're doing it like this because they already covered what they did when they got back home last season. So good move.
Also, next weeks episode is then about how Lock became Jeremy Bentham, and how he died. This is gunna be one hell of an episode for sure so i can't wait.
IGN article: http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/954/954694p1.html
The writers couldn't decide which ep to air first, but they went with jack and co's story first. It's gunna be awesome

Here's a sneak peak at 316 (the next ep)

If you don't look in the spoilers, just trust me when i say the next 2 eps will be awesome

EDIT: Sneak Peak video of next ep added

Awesome episode last night.

So they're officially back on the island and it appears that next week we'll learn what happened to John once he got off of the island. Lots of theories floating around the office here as to what's going on, but there's one thing we all agree upong:

LOST is one of the most intricate shows that's ever graced our television screens.

Couldn't agree with you more. And last nights episode was real good. A little slow, with alot of explanation going on, but it was decent. What i think will make this episode better is future episodes. As of now, there are tons of questions raised and little answered.
i.e.
Did Ben actually kill penny at that marina he was at when he was beaten up?
Who beat ben up?
What is Desmond now doing?
What happened to aaron?
What happened to sayid, ben, sun and locks body?
What happened to the aeroplane?
Why was Sayid there, and who was that person next to him?
Will Lapedus also be on the island?
How is Jin working for the Dharma Initiative?
Will it always take place in this time now?
Infact what the hell is going on on the island right now??

So, wait, as you are Americans, you are what, one episode ahead? And it airs on Tuesdays?

We get it on Sundays here in England, and last episode was the one where it turned out Faraday's mother was the saem woman Desmond met, and who was a friend of Widmore's. Totally worked that out halfway through, but still reeling

It's easy, i found a blog where it finds links to recorded episodes straight from their TVs. People upload them as soon as the program is finished, so it's usually up within half an hour of it ending for you Then i download on rapidshare Great quality

Oh man... last nights episode was probably the best one so far... really just amazing.
(spoilers ahead of last nights ep.... so dont look if you havnt seen it yet!!)

Opening the episode with showing the plane had crashed by the runway on the hydra facility island and Lock has been resurrected was a great start!
Then with the conversation between Charles Whitmore and Lock totally changed my view on Whitmore. At first you think that he is possibly the good guy... has Ben also been lying about this? And then throughout the ep it's great to see how Lock just gets shot down constantly, to eventually feeling terrible about the whole thing. The part telling jack about his father was just amazing though. But then the near end was brilliant when Ben stops Lock from killing himself. At this point I was thinking 'Okay, yeah Ben is right, Whitmore is the evil one. I see how he was minipulating Lock'. Until Lock drops Elouise's (sp?) name and then Ben kills him! Just totally shocking and unexpected! And for me that confirms it. BEN IS EVIL! Pure evil. Man that episode was awesome. And the ending was pretty interesting too, I wonder how Ben would be to Lock. Personally, I'd just kill Ben there and then if I were Lock.

Lol... is that last part sarcasm? If not....

ben knew excactly what Lock was going to do, but ben clearly wanted to use lock even more for his own reasons (probably gathering everyone). however, when Lock mentioned Ellouise Hawking, then ben killed him. This was probably because if lock could get to elouise, he wouldn't need ben and thus ben would become pointless and not needed in all of this.

EDIT: OH MY GOD! Last nights episode.... oh man.... that was just... amazing. Quite possibly the best episode in a long long time.... I loved it so much. 10/10 for me.
We saw the statue! I bet more on that will be touched on in season 6 now. I'm gunna have to go back and check that out again... but man they were far back in time. And Then everything that happened 3 years later was just awesome. It also helped explain the time frames better, as it had been 3 years for everyone. Man this show is just amazing. Them working in the Dharma Initiative is insane, and I loved that Sawyer and Juliet together actually worked well and didn't seem forced. There was a small hint of it by the sub, but nothing that proved it would go further. But it has and it was handled excellently. The part with Richard was also brilliant. Really loved that And the end... the look on Sawyers face... aww I wonder what has happened to Sun, Ben and Sayid. They have so much to cover now with that, Lock and the crew, and Lapedus leaving the crashed plane. The rest of this season is going to be amazing. **** the week break now

Spoiler pics from the ep just gone. If you've seen it i suggest you take a peak :

Here is the statue:

Look what is in it's hand... remind you of anything? Maybe this will help:
http://occultopedia.net/images_/ankh.jpg
Which was Pauls necklace. It's egyptian
Here is a wiki quote about it the Ankh:

The ankh was the Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life", a triliteral sign for the consonants ˁ-n-ḫ. Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest. It is also known as the key of life, the key of the Nile, or as crux ansata, Latin for "cross with a handle".

Sounds familiar... Richard Alpert & Eternal life eh?

I just don't know how I missed all of the Egyptian references...

Isn't it great that we'll get to see the Dharma Initiative in action rather than just learning about it? Great - and welcome - twist. Plus, when do you think we'll run into young Ben? He's got to be there; maybe he's already with the "hostiles"? So awesome...

Is horace around in bens flashback ep? I'll have to rewatch that one later. Idon't think we'll run into young ben though, cause having two bens at one time would be killer confusion lol. Even if one was just a kid. And yeah - i love that season 5 seems to be about the past of the island. Exactly what i wanted

Random thing - we still havn't heard anything from Rose or Benard since the second ep when they ran away from the flaming arrows. Not that i miss them, but it's a loose end i just want tied up and over with lol I think it would of been suitable had they died from the arrows.

EDIT: Actually thinking about it... they may bring young ben in as you're correct about the timing. hmmmm.

Not sure if Horace is in Ben's flashback, but I know I've seen that guy somewhere before. Probably just from another role. Given it's 1977, Ben's definitely on the island and I'd imagine he's in his middle teens.

My prediction - and I don't think it's that big of a leap - is that we'll not only see Young Ben but we'll also see his attempt to wipe out the Dharma Initiative...

That could be pretty interesting... but i hope something else happens as we know the result of that story lol.

And we have infact seen horace before When lock stumbled across him in a dream, he was building jacobs cabin hehe, so that's why you recognise him Just like it took me a while to recognise that elouise hawking was the woman desmond talked to before when he was back in the real world all of a sudden.

Also random note, the ankh is a symbol of immortality (maybe richard?) and fertility (we all know about the island and the fertility issue).

Some people think the statue is Anubis, which is the God Of The Dead. Which would explain why christian and lock have been brought back from the dead

But what if they somehow were able to stop Ben from wiping out the Dharma Initiative? They're all going to be present when Ben comes to wipe them out at the very least.

Didn't Horace offer Ben's dad the job with Dharma?

I'm rewatching Ben's flashback episode 'The Man Behind The Curtain' now. Yeah Horace is there and seems to be in charge of everyone still. I don't know if sawyer and co would be there - it's hard to say as there's no mention. Horace looks slightly younger, or same age lol. (EDIT - ah just saw Horace again when Ben was a lot older. so yeah Ben must definitely be on there the same time as Sawyer etc. Also - I forgot that Ben also tried to murder Lock in this episode too. That's twice now! He really is a bad person.)

But there was just a part where Ben saw his dead mother (who died OFF the island giving birth to him) and she spoke to him. Then he spoke to Richard Alpert who was intrigued and even asked if she died on the island.
And if you think back who has spoken since they have died; Christian, Yemi, Lock and Emily (Bens mum) all died off the island, but are now on the island and 'alive'. This goes along with the statue who is 'The God of the Dead', and maybe in this Egyptian mythology and everything the island can bring back the dead, as long as they died off of the island.

In terms of stopping Ben doing what he did, it's hard to say... it all depends on a few things.
First of all, are they all in the same... timeline? For example, we know Ben killed all the Dharma Initiative workers. Juliet and co know all this. So with this power of knowledge, could they stop Ben from doing so? Surely it is inevitable, as it did happen? Or if they do stop it, will this just instantly change the future they left behind or create a new path and a parallel universe type thing. It's impossible to say, and the most confusing thing with time travel. That probably didn't make sense either, but i'm rubbish at explaining things.

It makes sense in that it doesn't make sense. That's the confounding thing about the philosophy of time travel. Going to be awesome either way...

Haha, oh you could say stuff happens I suppose. Just put it this way - it is definitely worth watching. For me, it's the best program I've ever watched. All opinion obviously, but the last few seasons have been ridiculously action packed.

And the plot twists are amazing, you know, the ones that make you go "Oh BLEEP!" They're probably my favorite part of any story.
And we're probably not going to see much of the statue for some times, as we're focusing on now on the Dharma initiative and the return of the survivors.

Also, the only thing that has perplexed me so far is the HUGE gap between the plane crash and Locke reviving, as well as the survivors finding the Dharma station. Explain, plz?

I don't think he'll die, but it would be great if he did. Theoretically, they could kill off Young Ben and still have the Elder Ben live if they go with the more uncommon theory surrounding time travel. That said, maybe they will; the thing these writers love is creating confusion. Think you're confused now? Just imagine if we have to start dealing with multiple time-lines.2009-03-26 15:34:00

It really is mad.
Personally, i hope he does die. Cause then it will make it about 10x more interesting! And will need more great explaining as ever by the show

I also loved the part when Sayid was drugged up. He was hilarious, but at the same time had us on the edge of our seats hoping he wont spoil anything!

I'm going to watch the ep again. I usually watch them 2 or 3 times

Oh wow, that was an INSANE episode, especially the end. That made it all worht it. Read the spoiler if you want some problems solved:
I don't think he'll die. Some days before the premiere of Season 5 my dad sent in a question involving the effects of time travel within the show. According to the producers, the future CANNOT be changed. I'll eidt this with the link later, I'm digging through old USA TODAY files.

Catch last night's episode yet?

So, which theory of time travel do you think will hold true? Are they at the end of the timeline much like Miles speculates or are they back in time like Hurley thinks? I personally subscribe to Miles' theory just for linear reasons that will ultimately help the continuity of the story. That said, I'm not sure what happens with Ben and Dharma at this point...

Great Ep! I was hoping Ben would die, cause then it could make things really interesting and catch everybody by surprise. But I think we know now that Ben will probably live because of Richard and the Temple (nice to see it again!). Richard said that Ben will forget... so that may explain why he doesn't recognise all of them.

Kate's backstory was actually pretty interesting, as we see that she lied to Jack. She was clearly just upset about leaving Aaron. And that woman in the supermarket must of just been a paedophile... creepy.
And i had never noticed it was the same woman that Kate and Sawyer knew... just mad!

Also loved the conversations with Hurley and Miles... just hilarious!

EDIT: ... WOAH!!! Next episode looks amazing!!
There's a promo for it here if you want to see it: It's the bit usually shown after the show. The name of the ep could be a bit revealing too...

Seriously... i don't like to spoil things so dont look if you don't wanna know what it will be about.

Man how could you forget?? Though i am psycho with lost LOL.

Okay, well throughout season 4 (and maybe 3) the others always referred to the temple as the safe place to be. Meeting at the temple and what not. And in this season at the beginning, we saw Roussou (sp?) and her crew find have a member taken by the smoke monster... and they followed it back to the temple. So that is obviously where smokey lives And when everyone except Roussou went in there when they came out it's like they had some revalation that smokey is good and all that. Next ep may include it... so it could be awesome

Don't worry, I read But was a little cautious cause i try to stay away from what the producers say or anything. However I wouldn't trust them anyway, cause they obviously won't spoil their own show xD
But yeah, because of how the ep ended i'm sure he'll live. However, we need to know what Richard meant by 'forget this'. Will he forget the last few years? Just being shot? or Just being healed? This could explain why he didn't recognise them. That, or he did recognise them, but by that point understood what was going on so kept quiet and showed no emotion.

Side note... it was very interesting to hear Charles Whitmore and Elouise Hawking are still on the island!! Very cool. (Remember, one of the others said to Richard 'Shouldn't we tell Elliot about this? I don't think Charles would agree' or something along those lines.)

What did everyone think of last nights episode? I thought it was pretty good for the most part. It was a bit predictable, but it was nice to see a lot of the stuff we knew happen, actually happen.

My only complaint was the effects used during the end sequence with Ben's memories in the smoke. Looked pretty cheesy and I kind of ruined the moment for me.

Next weeks episode looks to be rather Miles centric which could be interesting...

Great episode last night. They should have used the effect similar to that seen in "The Mummy" with the head in the sandstorm. Would have been cool, but possibly not that clear. That aside, great episode.

Where's Ryan; could really use his input on this.

here Just watched it. Brilliant ep. I love Ben centric episodes, and this certainly delivered. I agree with the effect. I would of liked it to be more sharp, flashing and electrical... sort of like the glimpse with Mr Eko. Still, it was a sad moment. The smoke monster must of taken the form of Alex, with the whole 'Or I will destroy you!'. Awesome. Nice to see Penny didn't die too
Can't really comment on much else, it was a pretty simple episode when it comes down to it. As mrsupercomputer said, most of the stuff happen in the episode we already knew.

However, this was definitely a turning point episode for Ben. Since we've seen Ben, he's always been in charge and knowing what is going on. But now he is in a similar situation to the rest of the gang, with Lock being the man in charge. And I do hope he does what Alex/Smokey told him to Though he did say smokey didn't have a name, but the dharma called it Cerberus so I thought they would of too. (Cerberus is also known as the 3 headed guard dog of Hades in Greek Mythology).

I can't wait to find out where we go next. The end of the season is coming up so it must start picking up even more now.

YESSSSSS. I love you all

I'm a huge fan of LOST! I thought "Dead is Dead" was really good. The dynamic between Ben and Locke is always amazing, and it's great that it's evolving a bit. So will Ben play good?

Also, the last episode was really fun and also very deep. I loved all the Star Wars references, and they did a great job of bringing out Mile's character.

Can't wait until the next episode! It's the 100th episode... wow.

I'm spoiler free by the way. It's way more fun that way

Also, do any of you listen to any LOST podcasts/post on any forums? I highly recommend The Lost Podcast With Jay and Jack. It's both insightful and great fun to listen to. They also have a forum which I post on.

Haha yeah... I just came back to the forum a few days ago, after leaving for a while. But I really like this place so I'll probably settle in

I heard a theory that maybe Jack's purpose on the island is going to be killing Ben, and Jack's father, Christian Shepphard, is going to be the one to tell Jack to kill Ben.
No proof or anything behind it, but I thought it was a neat theory!

Your theory sounds interesting, but I'm not sure if it's going to go through. Probably not.

Well, this Wednesday brings the (gong) 100th EPISODE EXTRAORDINAIRE!

I'm guessing it'll be 2 hours.

Nah it's just one hour
The finale is two hours though!

Yeah, the theory doesn't have any proof or anything behind it, it would just be really interesting. It would be a really neat character cycle for Jack - first performed surgery on him/saved his life, then hated Ben/beat him up, then worked for him/helped him to get back to the island, and then as a man of faith hates him again and kills him!

haha yeah. I was hoping Ben would die in the previous episodes as a child... then it would really make things interesting xD

Yeah. 2 more hours!

The Variable is supposed to parallel the Constant. Not sure if will really be directly related or not, but the names are parallel in their meanings. In an experiment you need a constant, and you have one or more variables. So what will be the variable here? It would be totally cool if the variable(s) were the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42... but I doubt we'll get the answer to that until season 6.

Don't worry, it wasn't important to the ep. But for refrence sake, it was the one with desmond on the boat, and phoning penny.

As for the ep just gone....
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
DANIEL! :'(
He's like one of my fave characters of the last 2 seasons! And by the looks of it, he's gunna die!
Awesome episode though. Especially when he was going on about he can change things. I hope that still sticks somehow. That would rock.

Haha, I'm on the other boat. I hope you can't change what happened.

But I think maybe you can change little things, kinda like how Desmond was able to avert Charlie's death for a while, but the universe course corrected and he died anyways.

But you did hear Daniel, right? There are variables. The rules have changed in this intricate quantum-dynamic game.

But your own mother shooting you, that's irony at the highest level.

Did you see the promo for next week? Look's awesome!
With jack trying to do what Faraday mentioned about changing things!

Also... i was just like to point this out which i wrote on supersickies profile a week ago:

And i'm going to go as far as saying that this season finale will have 'The Incident' in it. Yup. A total guess off the top of my head... but i hope it's true! would be awesome to find out what it is.

I was right with the incident

But have they really? What if everything Daniel is doing is actually what causes the incident in the first place?

Exactly. I have been thinking about this alot... and in the episode Faraday had his new theory that he can change what happens due to The Variables. However, in doing this, he just ended up getting shot, which his mother knew was going to happen. She sent him there cause she knew that was going to happen. So that goes with the theory that you still can't change things. It will be interesting to see which theory they go with in the end, but chances are you just can't change what happened. Cause what happened, happened.

And yeah, i also think that it pretty likely that Faraday will be wrong about this whole thing, and in the process they will cause the incident themselves. Though i kind of hope they don't... as it's almost too predictable. I really want them to change the future, cause that would just be insane, and i'm sure the writers of lost could come up with some mad theory why lol.

EDIT:

For something interesting... check this out. No spoilers, just info on ep just gone. Is this another non-ageing other?

In the ep he tells Faraday to put his helmet on.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/hooray4u/Picture1.png

Here he is in season 3:
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/lostpedia/images/8/8e/3X05_Jason.jpg
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/hooray4u/sayid_breaks_neck.jpg

In truth, no it isn't He's just a re-used extra. I'll quote from someone else on another forum:

It's probably just an extra being reused. The same guy played the priest who married Kate and the head doctor who grilled Christian for drinking and cutting, and there's no way they were supposed to be the same person. The actor who played the man Sayid shot outside of Hurley's hospital had previously played two other background parts. The very same actor you're talking about (who was killed by Sayid at the end of season 3) can be seen among the Hostiles at the end of season 4 - he's wearing a beard to make it less obvious, but it's him.
Still intriguing none the less.

EDIT 2:
Hmmm... looking back at the comic-con video... it seems to be pointing towards the season finale.
here it is if you haven't seen it:
YouTube - LOST Season 5 Comic-Con Sneak Peek (HQ)

It was released as a season 5 spoiler at Comic-Con. Sorta like before with the season 3 teaser from the Lost Experience:

YouTube - Lost Experience: Sri Lanka Video (FULL)

The only thing with the first video is who is holding the camera. It sounds like Faraday, but that can't be possible as he is dead (assuming he dies obviously). So unless he does it must be Miles, as it's hard to tell which one it is.

EDIT3: Hmmm, seems the first clip is only considered partly canon. Quote from producers in interview:

I think some people believe that they hear Faraday's voice in the Comic-Con experience. These events are sort of partially canon but more promotional than they are canon. Giving the audience a sneak peak as to what the season is about.

You guys are right, I think. I actually have thought it out and Daniel may be wrong, considering he is actually leading up to the events of the Incident. Who knows? In trying to prevent it, Jack might actually UNLEASH the energy and therefore seal their fate. Not like it wasn't sealed already.2009-05-03 20:24:00

I also think the same. Cause they have no place in the Dharma initiative anymore obviously. Felt a bit short-lived :/ I think a longer season would of suited this one more.

C'MON GUYS WHERE'S THE EXCITEMENT!?

Right, ep tonight and I must say it's looking to be a fantastic one. It's the lead up to the Finale night... so these are always great.

In the spoilers are 6 (yes! 6!) sneak peaks for tonights ep. They all last about one minute each... and don't give too much away (in past experience they always put in stuff from the first 10 minutes... never anything too spoiler-esque.) But if you don't wanna spoil anything what-so-ever, don't look

WRONG.
The sneak peeks are not from the 'LOST' people. They are from ABC.
But the writers and executive producers/producer don't get to choose what goes in. I'm almost positive.

That's why I don't watch them

I see. Well ABC is good enough for me in this case, as I watch them on the odd occasion and all it does is make me more excited for the eps And they're always from the beginning of the episode too, so it's never anything which would spoil the ep at all Though it is nice to go into an episode totally not knowing what's going to happen in the slightest.

Not the best ep of the season for me, but it was still **** amazing. I can't believe the decisions Lock is making... though i don't really like what Jack is trying to do
Also, what the heck is going to happen with Juliet, Sawyer and Kate now??

Still... it seems that we may see Jacob finally!! This would be amazing.

This episode definitely ramped up the excitement in order for next weeks finale. I really hope Jack does the right thing (whatever that may be).

With regard to Sawyer, Juliet, and Kate, I imagine that whatever happens in the finale will send them back to the correct timeline, so maybe those three will be teleported as well.

Of course, if Jack were to succeeds and if Faraday is right... then they'll never be on the sub. I began to wonder if the writers would "reset" things. At first it seems like a be cop out, but with an entire season left to go, it could be interesting.

Obviously the best part of the episode was that last, mind blowing sentence. I'll remember that for the rest of my life, I think.

But Jack is going insane. I honestly don't like that sudden change of character, just as I didn't like when Locke went all radical like that.

Jack's being Jack, always having to fix something. And right now he thinks he can fix the last few years of the losties lives. I think it's pretty obvious he will fail. But how and what will happen is the big question here.
I can't wait. Not long now! And what the hell is in the box!? And what lies in the shadow of the statue!? And is it possible to actually kill jacob!? And ZOMG JUST LET ME SEE THE EP ALREADY lol.

For a guide, Richard never seems to know what the hell is happening. Also, poor Jacob, but, to be fair, I think I've come to a conclusion.

The whispers are the Island/people who have died there
They are NOT the others
They are NOT Jacob

Jacob is eeeeeeeeeeevil according to the whisperers, and has fooled the others into believing that he is not.

I don't think so. Remember way back when he said to lock 'Help me?'. I think he's being kept in some sort of prison like thing or something. Maybe at the temple?

AND OMG I bet Claire is found this ep.

I FOUND VINCENT! :o !

http://twitter.com/vincent_dog

In all seriousness, look here:
http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Vincent

Season 5 (Time Shifts)

Vincent was on the beach when Bernard attempted to make a fire, after a flash of light brought the survivors to 1954. When the flaming arrows started to fly out of the darkness, Vincent was seen running away. ("The Lie") Vincent's collar was later found at a ravaged beach camp in the future by Locke after one of the time flashes. His current whereabouts are unknown. ("The Little Prince")

I hope he's not dead

EDIT: Ah - I just rewatched part of the 4th episode. When they come back to the camp and Rose & Bernard aren't there or anything. They also find vincents leash. But no vincent :O!!! :'(

Then they get on the boat and row away, and thats when people start firing at them. We now know it was the people who are asking about the shadow of the statue, as they had ajira airways water

EDIT 2:

Damon Lindelof confirmed in the February 4, 2009 episode of the Official Lost Podcast that Vincent will survive through the end of Season 6, making Vincent the first and so far only character that has been confirmed will survive the entirety of the series. (Official Lost Podcast transcript/February 5th, 2009)

Hahah, so far the only person confirmed to live the entire series is the dog.

You know, when I think about Lost, I say, "Wow, this show has barely anything to do with castaways on a island."

I mean, you see previews for the show and you expect, "Aw, another show about people stranded on an island?" Then you add monsters, enemies, epic gunfights, mysterious supernatural forces and time travel.

It all makes me go 0_o

Just a quick change, remember when Hurley found Jacob's cabin, he looks in the window and there appears to be Jacob in the chair per usual, and then a bearded man looks out the window scaring Hurley into stumbling backward, enter Locke.

That bearded man was Jack for whatever its worth... Then when Jack visits Hugo in the hospital to make sure the 'secret' is safe (Other survivors the 6 lied) ... Jack confides while shooting hoops he's contemplating growing a beard and Hurley says, "No man you don't look good with a beard." Not wouldn't, because he's already seen the bearded Jack ...for what its worth.

In the small picture I have no idea where the stories going but believe Jack will be rewarded for his faith and reset the 'sixes' timeline. Its interesting to me that a most selfish man (Charlie) made the ultimate selfless act. Boone who coveted his sister gave her up. Locke the lame, was made to walk, and a physician is being forced to heal himself by honoring his father.... In the big picture I believe the Island is Atlantis.

So much happen in that last 10 minutes and now I have so many questions!

So, what the heck is the Locke that is walking around on the island? I'm thinking he's the monster, maybe? There was definitely a God vs the Devil, Good vs Evil type rivalry going on there with Jacob and the mystery man... very interesting.

Another thought, does anyone else think that the bomb may actually send Jack, Kate, Juliet, Sawyer, etc back to the correct time? So, they don't die, they just get teleported back. Hmm, so many questions!

After participating in a few other discussions around the web, I've heard the theory that the mystery man maybe Esau from the Bible. Wikipedia has this:

"In the Book of Jubilees (which is neither part of the Jewish nor most Christian canons), Esau's father, Isaac, compels Esau to swear not to attack or kill Jacob after Isaac has died. However, after the death of Isaac, the sons of Esau convince their father to lead them, and hired mercenaries, against Jacob in order to kill Jacob and his family and seize their wealth, (especially the portion of Isaac's wealth that Isaac had left to Jacob upon his death). In the ensuing battle, Jacob kills Esau with an arrow. The sons of Jacob then defeat the rest of the attackers despite overwhelming odds.
Some of the sons of Esau are spared, but they are sworn to serve and pay fealty to Jacob."

Sounds kind of familiar to the conflict we've seen. I wonder if this is where the writers have drawn some of there inspiration?

In the ensuing battle, Jacob kills Esau with an arrow. The sons of Jacob then defeat the rest of the attackers despite overwhelming odds.
Some of the sons of Esau are spared, but they are sworn to serve and pay fealty to Jacob."

Sounds kind of familiar to the conflict we've seen. I wonder if this is where the writers have drawn some of there inspiration?

That's a very interesting theory, but I'd be kind of bummed if they had been pulling in all this seemingly Egyptian iconography only to turn around and bring it back to the sons of Isaac. However, the interesting thing with that theory is Jacob and Esau and well known figures in the Old Testament; would be interesting to see things play out between two figures I'm familiar with.

I'm a little skeptical as to if this is what's really happening just because it's not the most common image we have of the two brothers. I'm still very confused by all of this though...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This reminds me of the season 1 finale xD I wanna know what happens with the bomb! Argh!

In terms of Lock... honestly, as soon the first scene had the mystery man say to Jacob he will find a loop hole and kill him, I knew Lock was part of this mans plan. Didn't think it was actually him though until we saw dead Lock. That was very cool.
Shame real Lock is dead

And that moment with Sawyer and Juliet was so sad :'( And another emotional part was when Ben talked about going to the cabin and talking to noone. I felt sorry for the poor guy

I loved how Jacob went to see most of the losties in their early life. Was very cool. And while I understand why they put Juliets flash back in, I thought it was a bit out of place with no Jacob involved.

Looks like my guess about the statue was right - Tawaret Obviously not confirmed... but it definatly looks like it.
http://www.theoriesonlost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/tawaret.jpg

But i noticed something... and maybe i'm just nit picking. But...
This is from the season 2 finale:
http://vinyarb.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/four-toed-statue_collapsed.gif
It's a left foot.

this is what i just snapped up from the 5 finale:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b164/ryryryan/vlcsnap-1713833.png
This is a right foot.
Therefore, I can conclude there were 2 or more statues on the island xD
That, or a continuity error.

Seeing Rose and Bernard was nice. And i think the story they chose for them was perfect. It suits them. It also backs up what Jacob said at the beginning of the episode - that people can live peacefully on the island. Dunno if that's intentional or whatever.

I've read much into this Esau business... and many people are now calling him that on other forums. (him being the guy at the beginning & lock). I don't know about that really. I can't say much about this to be honest. There's just so much to it, and i haven't read the mythology about any of it. Though... I read something interesting someone mentioned about in the Cabin, Jacob said 'Help Me'. What if that was Esau?

One final thing... my prediction for next season...
Here goes... Things will reset. Maybe back to the beginning and they crash again... but they have a memory. They could get straight to sorting things out. Hah, crazy but i'll go with it for now xD

oh and when i saw vincent i was like
http://www.entertainmentwallpaper.com/images/desktops/movie/yes_man01.jpg

EDIT:
I do find Locks situation quite fitting. Throughout lost, he has always been a sort of pawn. From the issues with his Dad, to the hatch, to Ben and everything else, he has never really succeeded in much. And eventually Ben killed him. Quite sad really. And now he really is dead, just a clone-like body is taken place by this mystery man.

EDIT2: Season 6 promo (have a look - it's where I got my theory from)

Season 6 Promo
YouTube - Lost season 6 Frist promo Teaser Video begun in 2010!

That's Jacks eye. Seemingly from the pilot ep, as those are trees in his eyes i think (like pilot ep again). So I think it's hinting at maybe thats how season 6 will start? With things being reset. I dunno - just theories.

EDIT3: (lol)
Also, Richard mentioned his ageing. I dunno what happened obviously... but maybe Richard took the other guys side (compared to Jacobs) and when something happened to Jacob (or if he's always been like it) he gave Richard the power to never age so he could see that eventually, he was always right. Or not xD Just a crazy theory lol.

Well, Jacob and Esau lived in Egypt if I remember correctly. So, maybe the writers are just meshing a couple mythologies, which I think that is kind of cool.

Alot of good information there Ryan. I actually think I agree with you, that the island will reset, but they will retain some kind of memory of these events. Maybe their consciousness travels, similar to Desmond in The Constant.

Of course, that clip of the eye was probably just tossed together by a marketing team, so it could mean nothing.

Also, any speculation as to who Jacob referred to when he said "They're coming." I kind of think he might be referring the Juliet, Jack, Kate, etc.

I didn't think about that mrSC. What Jacob said. I like it, though we can't really be certain about what he meant.
I don't know what Illana and her lot will do now. However, we can make theories.

I'll start from the beginning. Literally
Watch this for a refresher... most importantly the part from 2.30 to the end.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYo65cMu8IU

'One is light, one is dark.'
This theme has always been in the show, like good or evil with Ben and Whitmore. However they couldn't of hinted more heavily in that final ep.
Jacob was wearing white clothes. The other guy, black. Does this mean Jacob really is the good guy? And Illanas chum (can't remember his name. The guy who nabbed miles before) said that they're on the good side. Which we know is Jacobs, as Illana said she would help him.

It's all very puzzling at the moment, as I'm unsure how Jacob got off the island and was there, and things like that. But if this other guy is bad, then the Lock we know in season 5 will be the evil guy in all this. Afterall, he did say at the beginning he would kill Jacob, and there will always be conflict on the island.
I guess Illana and her crew will do what Jacob wanted or something. We'll see in 8 months lol.

EDIT:
Man i'm just thinking back to Juliet falling down the pit. It was probably the saddest thing ever on lost I won't lie, it made my eyes get a bit teary That and desmond and penny talking in 'The Constant' last season are the most emotional parts in lost for me.
I was SO happy to see Juliet survive though at the end! But then... whether she lives or dies now is hard to say. If she dies from the nuke... I'm pretty sure everyone else there would die too. Cause a nuke is a nuke. It wouldn't be a small explosion by any means. I just hope she survives!

You won't find any answers with me, friend. Ryan is a ton better at putting this stuff together than I am. Something tells me even he's not going to see all of this coming.

**** right I didn't haha xD

EDIT2:
I've found out what Richard said to Illana when he spoke latin to them. When asked what lies in the shadow of the statue, he replied 'The one who we all serve to.'. And this means Jacob. So Richard and Illanas crew all serve to Jacob, who I have theorised is the good person in all this, with Locke (Aka the guy in the black clothes) being evvvvvil

EDIT3:
About my comment with the foot earlier... I take it back! I've been looking over it more and decided that it is definatly the left foot used, so ignore that xD

Not a clue. At the moment, that's the main problem with the whole reset theory. What the heck happens to Sun etc in 2007?
So i still can't believe fully that that will happen.
We'll have to see eh.
8 months will go so slowly
I REALLY hope Juliet lives.
But in terms of Locke... well it's not even Locke. Though he does appear to have his memory and personality traits, mixed with the guy at the beginning of the ep.

20-some episodes left... do you realize with this self imposed deadline how many many mysteries will be left behind for fans to scavenge at the bones? An amazing show and the last 10 minutes of every show always bring me back for more. With that said, the big- really big picture (although I'm sure will one day make perfect sense) seems really stupid and convoluted at the moment... My story involves people who crashed on flight 815. Don't try to sell me on some biblical mumbo-jumble 5/6ths of the way through... Epic struggles of good and evil I understand but told through 5 year players not a bunch of tertiary bit players introduced right before the fall of the curtain... On my show, I'm still waiting for Claire to re-emerge... or was Miles interest in her because she never did survive the blast... and dead mothers don't make good Nannies... and sometimes go wandering off at night to be with dead daddys... I'm still wondering how/why Hugo brought a guitar via Jacob. I really thought it was for Charlie... was it an instrument proxy to help recreate original flight conditions? Did it forebodingly mark Hurley to suffer Charlies fate? Or, will he become the bard who will commit this tale to music thus ensuring it will be remembered for all time? You see, I still believe it far more likely that all of this is based on something as trivial as a song lyric... then ancient biblical studies...

(Of course maybe BSG already cornered the market on that one.)

I still think Jacks' faith, and actions in that faith, will be rewarded by resetting the timelines and bringing our 'losties' back together again... All of them being holy warrior pawns aligned on a chessboard in a deathmatch between Jacob and whoever for all eternity!?!? Sheesh, when will it end? All bets are off. Me and Vincent are gonna shack up with Bernard and Rose and do that 'drop-out' hippie thing. Grow some hair, man. Hair-Peace.

Actually that's what I love about the show. It has all it's mythology, with crazy theories, temples, monsters, time travelling etc, but it is always down to the characters and the interaction and relationships between them. Pretty much most of the mythology stuff has been hinted at (and sometimes directly shown) throughout season 2 and after. I think in the end they will get the balance perfect between the two, and have a really satisfying finish.

The guitar seemed to just be the proxy thing... but I was really hoping there was going to be more than that. Cause even when he got back he was still carrying it round :/

I would like something to happen with Jack being sort of right. I'd hate to think Faraday died for nothing. Other than the reason that it was supposed to happen.

But right now, I just love that we have no idea where the series will go in the final season. Not a clue! Bring it on I say I'm just going to miss my weekly Lost update

Well, maybe not. That was a pretty deep and narrow shaft, which could have redirected the major force of the bomb upwards, opposed to the traditional outward blast you'd see in an open area. therefore, considering they ran like hell itself, they could possibly very well escape the blast.

The big question for me now is whether they can actually change the past or not; I still have my money on the latter, because maybe variables may be able to decide their future, but not that of others. Therefore, they can't change what has happened. And besides, the producers themselves said you can't change the future. Too lazy to look for that link now.

I was thinking about it... but this is a nucluer device! It would just blow a huge crater in the ground. It's far stronger than TNT. Also they other losties were still right above the pit... they had barely any time to run. So i don't think there will be an explosion of your normal bomb. Something strange will happen. This is Lost afterall xD

Well, I don't know, Juliet did spend quite a while bangin' on that bomb anyways. could have given them time to run.

Also, did any one else predict that Dr. Chang's arm would get injured in this episode? I read in some wiki articles that many people noticed he had a prosthetic hand or arm in some Dharma orientation films.
DISCLAIMER: The above spoils nothing.

To be honest I don't think we need the spoilers now. No UKer would come in here before the finale airs... that would be ridiculous lol.
Yeah i knew about the arm... but it totally didn't click till i read about it on a forum after! Very neat.
But yeah... I just can't imagine it being a normal nuke explosion... something wierd will happen that'll just be **** odd xD
Maybe time freezes just when she hits it... and then jacob or someone comes along and touches them each and they transport to 2007 xD

You know, I just wouldn't count Ol' John Locke out yet... something tells me he'll be back. I just don't think Ben's murderous hands will be the end for him. Nor do I believe a cargo case sarcophagus will be his final resting place. Maybe they'll just bury him while his 'hijacked' life essence roams but I think that characters still got plenty of arc... or else he was the saddest, most pathetic, character who ever, never grew, to grace the screen; big or small.2009-05-15 14:24:00

I would love him to come back... but I dunno. Some say what Richard says in latin translates to 'The one that will save us all' or something like that. Maybe they mean the resurrection place for Locke? Or maybe just Jacob.
But honestly... I'd be happy with his ending if he really is dead. It's a very sad story, but it fit's his life perfectly. Everything he has gone through... and he has never amounted to anything great.

It's closer to your original translation. My dad, who was watching the episode with us, said it comes close to "Here, we are all servants".

I, honestly, am not sure about what's going to hapen to Locke.

The finale was great, and I especially love how the end title was white with black letters, it looked cool!

But there's still a mystery I want solved; were the heck is Claire? What happened to her? Why did she leave? What time is she in? What will happen to her after the time thing?

Also, I noticed that the next season of Fringe and LOST should be almost finished now, along with Star Trek being released. J.J. probably has something good coming soon, as all he has now is Fringe. What masterpieces will he make next?

If Locke is really dead... an there is an entity on the island masquerading as John Locke, I think it might be safe to assume this entity may have been masquerading as another dead body on the island, Christian Shepard. That would not bode well for our girl Claire. She did get 'blowed' up in New Otherton... Sawyer stated "She'll be ok... she got her bell wrung" , but Miles, (the guy who talks to dead people) said something like, "I wouldn't be too sure of that".

Later in the episode, Miles took an interest in Claire even after Sawyer warned him off... Miles doesn't take an interest in anyone... He also offered to take the baby which is about as uncharacteristic as anything I've ever heard on 'Lost'. Add to that the fact that she left Aaron and was seen in the company of her dead father!?! In the cabin Jacob abandoned... well, it don't look good now does it? But your right, as I posted earlier, these are the question I really want answered before we open up anymore canned worms.

Ah sweet look what wikipedia said;

Emilie de Ravin did not return as a series regular for the fifth season, but has a "holding contract" and will return as a regular in the sixth season.

In the states, they've been re-airing Lost as 'Get Lost A-gain'; 2 episodes every weekend. I just recently watched the ep. where Claire was hanging with Christian in Jacob's abandoned cabin. Her smile and demeanor are so evil posed in recline... there is no way that is Claire... without some form of possession taking place...

But let me get to my real point, John goes there to talk to Jacob... finds Christian instead, blindly follows orders, never tells anyone Jacob wasn't home... and then leaves Claire behind.

Now I think Lost has been one of the most intriguing show ever to grace the small screen. I find the characters engrossing and three dimensional, however, the writers of Lost have taken far too many liberties with their characters. Knowing full well external pressures can affect decision making processes... and the Island itself maybe driving these people nuts... Locke would have never allow himself to be so simply persuaded to ignore the fact that Claire was in the middle of an Island that nobody can find, in a cabin nobody can find, with a total and complete stranger sans Aaron. "She's with us now" would never have satisfied Locke. Even if he was chasing on the heels of his' "PURPOSE". When I saw this the first time I was Like, "WHAT!?!" and by the third time I viewed the ep. I was like ....bull-dinkies!

For such a great show they're sure have been a whole heckuva a lot unbelievable moments where characters do 180's 360's 720's to the whims and beat of the writers' 'plotting' drum.

Yeah I got it a few months back on the cheap... pretty meh. The incident room in it seems like it may be non-cannon, though we can't tell yet until next season.
In terms of the ending, it does seem to hint at what's happening now. However, i just don't think they'd give away what happens at the end of a part-cannon video game. We'll see.

I'd actually heard the Via Domus developers based the incident room on never-seen blueprints handed over to them by the Lost crew, so it would be canon for now.

Yeah, it's true. Also the writers of lost did the story for Via Domus too. But I wouldn't be surprised if they contradict themselves on what happened, as they have done it a few times in the past.
For example, they did this video for season 5:
YouTube - Lost - Chang aka Candle Comic-Con HQ video

And that never happened in the end. They late said that it was only 'partly cannon'.

Just finished watching the finale again... and was struck by two things I had originally forgotten. One is just an observation/opinion, the other is a significant question perhaps someone has a theory on... Either way, I can not believe there's no 'Lost' until January.

#1) When Hurley and Jacob share the cab ride from the prison there is a really bizzare audio effect employed on Jacobs voice. It is only used on the one line, of what I will call 'the reveal'. When Jacob refers to Hurley by name and let's the cat out of the bag that this is no chance meeting... The line, "I've been waiting for you Hugo" is double or triple tracked. Not sure if it's all in English, or in fact what is said, because it is mixed way down, but Jacob clearly talks in several tongues @ once... WHY?

#2) One of my sons I named Brody. Mostly in part, for my love of the movie "Jaws" I thought calling him 'chief' as a nick-name would be endearing. Julliette, at the bottom of the shaft. Against all odds. Dead to the world. Wrapping away. "C'mon you ...@*%" really brought me right back to the complete hopelessness of Martin Brody and the crew of the Orca. miss, miss, miss "C'mon and smile you son of a @*%#"

Intentional nod anyone?

We know why Saiid is an ex-bomber now... Cant even programme it to explode on impact from a drop over 9000!!!!!! billion miles down a big hole. O_o

The same drop didnt kill Juliet either.

Speaking of Juliet

And now for some news that should surprise no one: ABC is expected to announce tomorrow that it has picked up a reboot of the camptastic '80s thriller V and that Lost heroine Elizabeth Mitchell is a full-time castmember.

Translation: She will not be returning to Lost as a series regular.

However, before you go declaring Juliet DOA from last week's detonated hydrogen bomb, I should point out that this piece of scoop comes with a big but attached: Mitchell's Lost days are not done. Multiple sources confirm that the actress is expected to appear in an unspecified number of episodes next season, so it's entirely possible Juliet survived Jughead and her absence will be explained in another way. (Check out Doc Jensen's column this Wednesday for a comprehensive Juliet theorypalooza.)

What do you think happened to Juliet? And are you as bummed as I am that we'll be seeing less of her next season? Sound off below!

http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/05/lost-scoop-juli.html

of course plenty of characters have died and still been seen again in flashbacks and other ways.

As for his character, O'Quinn says he's really gone. Locke's dead body was rolled out of a metal box toward the end of the two-hour episode, baffling islanders who had been following a Locke imposter. Exactly who is now occupying Locke's body wasn't revealed. O'Quinn said it would be "a good guess" to assume it's a man seen with the infamous Jacob in the beginning of the episode.

"I think, unfortunately, I think it's ended for Locke. But I'm still there, as far as I know," O'Quinn said. "I don't know how it's going to end for this other guy. I'm sad. I miss John Locke, poor guy. He was a pawn."

O'Quinn is gearing up to play a new character when the sixth season begins next year. As for the rest of the story line, he swears he has no idea.

"Your guess is honestly as good as mine is," he said. "There's going to be some confrontation that will somehow, I'm guessing, have to do with Jack or Locke or something like that. I think these guys are just setting up good and evil. It's the way Locke said in the very beginning of the show: One is light and one is dark. Two sides. I think that's what we've got."

Locke really was just a pawn?! Too bad since many of the characters have evolved and do seem to have a greater purpose...

I guess it really is enough of a twist that the impostor tricked Locke - with Richard's help of course - into leaving the island and believing it was part of his destiny to die...

Believe me, there's still something crucial about all of this that we've not been made privy too. I'm holding out hope that Locke truly is special and holds a much greater purpose.

Rabid-Coot, could you possible put some of that stuff in spoilers? I stopped reading when i realised it's press stuff like that. I don't tend to read that stuff as it can technically be spoilers for next season.2009-05-19 17:17:00

Put most of Rabid-Coot's post into SPOILER tags at the request of another die-hard LOST fan. We can't have too much revealed about a show that relies so heavily on twists and uncertainties, now can we?2009-05-19 17:37:00

There isn't much that's given away there, anyway.

I might watch the entirety of Lost thus far...I dunno. I have 1-3 on DVD, then I'd have to Online-season 4...as for 5 again...

My theory is that Jack's dad is the guy from the beginning who was talking to jacob. He was also fake locke. fake locke said "you have no idea what I went through to get here." So, Jack's dad had claire and jack to use as pawns to get to jacob. Also, he told locke he'd have to die and when he did, he used it as a loophole to become locke and make ben kill jacob because he can't because there are rules unbenowenst to us that prevent jacob and jack's dad from killing each other.

Also: what's with aaron; what is his symbolism and why doesn't claire want him on the island? Is the father jacob? Or is aaron Jacob?

Juliet is from the future. When looking at her house, didn't her parents and house look very modern?

Exactly, turtle. About Aaron, I don't really care about him and I doubt he's going to make some useful appearance again in the series

You know, it makes me kind of sad the actual Locke is gone. I mean, it's the same actor playing someone else. It's like an empty feeling

O schnaps!! I just happened to look at my posts per day count for the first time ever, and this is what it said:

Posts Per Day: 1.08

I freaked. No joke.

...Don't worry, this bump isn't only about crazy coincidences that I only see because I watch this amazing show.
Comic-con 2009 has started! I'll be following it on nudia.tv, with Jay and Jack. Can't wait until the LOST panel!!!

Just a reminder, keep all spoilers from comic-con in tags. I'll probably be reading these spoilers because I'm in need of LOST, but I'll try to stay clear from anything that's pretty big if I can, and I'm sure others might be the same (or even more strict).

Also, a new website has gone up: http://www.lostuniversity.org/

Some people think it's a new ARG. I think it's more of a promotion thing and less of an ARG. If you look at the site, it's made clear that it's a part of ABC, and isn't presented as if LOST were real, but rather as the t.v. show. I think it could be really interesting though - it seems like it'll be interviews/webinars that will basically have (hopefully) scholarly people talking about LOST and it's themes and such.

Unfortunately we have to wait a bit before it really starts.

Who's excited for the LOST panel? Woooooooo!!! I'm pretty sure Jorge Garcia is going to be there, along with Michael Emerson. I forget if anyone else was confirmed...

Perfectly appropriate bump in my opinion; God knows we'll be using this thread all over again once the show starts up again in the winter.

I was thinking I should revive this thread - ya beat me to it!

Just so y'all know, Feb 4th is when LOST Season 6 starts. Can't wait There will be a mid season break too.

Pfffft. Get your details right!

February 2nd is the official air date of the premiere, and there is no announced break.
Official promo with air date (there are no scenes from season 6, so no spoilers):http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2009/12/new-lost-season-6-promo-from-abc.html

The 2nd is a Tuesday, which is the new LOST day. There almost definitely won't be a break, because if they had no breaks they would end on Tuesday, May 18th, which is already the end of the popular t.v. season - extending it so it goes past that would hurt their viewership a lot.

Also, they wouldn't put the finale on the 25th cause that's my grad trip

Oh, and it'll be an 18 hour season. Yay!

...Also, speaking of promos, I think it's awesome that the producers convinced ABC not to show any scenes from season 6 in any of the promos, so as not to give anything away. I know some people are probably disappointed, but I think it's better that way.

So yeah, I'm getting incredibly excited. My LOST season 5 blu-ray discs should be here in less than a week

Oops, my memory isn't as great as I thought. It was like 2 weeks ago when I read that about it and I thought it was 4th lol. Infact Here's where I got it from:
http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/104/1047841p1.html

I swear I read somewhere about a break... unless that info was wrong then.

And yeah I am very happy that they wouldn't even let them show 1 frame for the upcoming season. Pleases me greatly.

Seems like they come up with this instead:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C56Lgl6DorM

Favourite TV show? LOST! Favourite band? RADIOHEAD!
Favourite promo?! THIS

This is the only thread I'm going to look at from any forum about lost this time. I don't want anything to be slightly spoiled for myself.

EDIT: Found where I read about the break:
http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/103/1038961p1.html

It's old now though and since it starts in Feb it may mean this news is untrue.

Yeah, there was initially a rumor about a break for the Olympics, but that was a while before the actual release date was announced and was never confirmed.
It's also really unlikely there will be a break at this point because the Olympics are at the beginning of February so it would mean showing the premier and then having a two week break right away which doesn't make much sense.

By the way, there's tons of awesome fan made videos and trailers out there. If you want to check them out (and you should!!!), I favourited all the best ones I found on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/hilightnotes

Well, Amazon Gold Box officially offered a deal this morning that I couldn't resist: seasons 1-5 of LOST... on Blu-ray! Offer was 70% off (paid about $22 per season). Had to have the two-day shipping too so I'll be back in LOST heaven come Thursday.

Now, who wants to bet whether or not I can watch the entire set before the new season premiers?

Do you plan on eating, sleeping, or working? If no, then I think you can pull it off.

I watched seasons 3 and 4 over a 4 weeks, and it was almost over-saturation (the good kind!). I love Lost, and can't contain my excitement for the new Season.

What the heck happened at the end? Did everything reset!?!?

You can do it! I believe in you!

I've thought about rewatching the series before the final season as well, but it probably won't happen. Thankfully, ABC usually has the "Here's what's happened so far" episode before the season premiere that will catch me up!

Here, have some inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuFk1KKdNFw

I actually just started rewatching Season 1 this week - so far I'm at episode 10 and already came up with an awesome new theory!! I doubt I'll be able to get through everything before the premier airs, but I'll get through as much as I can.

Also, I just got my Season 5 blu-ray today! I really want to take a look at the whole "Lost University" thing cause it sounds really interesting.

Seems like I might actually end up getting this next day shipping! Showed that estimated delivery was December 10 earlier today, but now is showing December 9 as it was shipped from Kansas. Can't wait!

EDIT: Got my Blu-rays yesterday. Can't wait to get some time tonight to fire up Lost University on the PS3. From reviews I've read, there is a ton of great content to sort through.

I'm am going to wait until the final season (6) is over. Then I will buy a box set or BluRay with all the seasons.

I'm in the middle of season 5, getting ready for February. Love this show.

Wow, so I tried the enrolling thing on Lost University and found out you can't take the classes unless you buy the Blu-Ray box set. What a bunch of crap!!! I'm a huge fan and because I bought the DVD instead I don't get to partake in an external lost program thing. That's ridiculous.

I'm also waiting till the end of season 6 when the full box set of 1-6 on Blu-Ray will be released.

Yeah, I feel your pain, dude. I guess I'm lucky I stopped buying DVD the moment I got a PS3 for consistency's sake. That said, Lost University is beyond cool. I'm going to try to watch a good chunk of the series leading up to the season six premiere and fit Lost University in there as well.

I've been watching this on DVD for the past four months, and finished Season 5 half an hour ago. Very interesting, no doubt. My brother already finally told me all his theories (had been holding it in for four months), and it did make me rethink the series in the way he did... and uh yeah, finally managed to finish this... helluva way to end though, and now I can't just put in another DVD to figure out what goes on next ;-;

... yeah, how did it feel to have to wait three years to get another mention of the four toed statue? O-o
