We need to test the water? It's not just a saying you know ? We really do need to test the water ? to make sure the new features all work as planned, and we need your help to do it!

Man I hope we can harness the water and use it in the 3 planes. Like a bucket filled with water.

I just want to build a water level from scratch just to demonstrate to myself what I can do with it.

Well, he's right.... If 50% of the places (50% being a figure I just made up) then only 50% are left. This gives a fraction less people vying for a much smaller number of places. Net result = lower probability.2009-08-21 13:56:00

Really were talking about anyone who dropped-off the 'online createbeta' ... judging by LBP addictive tendencies, the audience it attracts... the # is probably much lower!

I 100% agree with this, when i invite people the lag gets so bad that i cant even select levels, its just makes the sound saying you get when you try to do something you do while creating or selecting a level, that eh-oo sound.

I finally acessed a level while i had people invited and we started to get rocketed out of check points when we respawned, it was hilarious. I mean when my sackboy popped out of the checkpoint he would randomly be lanuched 30 ft in the air. I forget what level we were playing but we were able to get out of the level and see all the logic and other hidden tidbits. XD		2009-08-21 14:58:00

Quite right Foofles, I've been saying this for months. The LAG has been horrendous for me since day one and trying to play online is simply impossible most of the time. It doesn't matter what content we get , WATER or other, nothing is any use if you can't play the game to start with.		2009-08-21 15:17:00

They haven't said that they're "adding water" to LBP... What they've said is that it's "part" of an exciting new creator kit. Well, there's precedent for that. In fact, this will be the second creator kit to date, with new tools, switches, etc. It will definitely be paid material.

I for one think that's wrong... I'm okay with costumes and stickers, holiday packs etc. costing money, because it's all essentially "bonus" stuff, nothing that changes the game.

But huge changes like water, all new switches, the paintenator... I really do, fundamentally feel like it is wrong to charge for this stuff. They should come in free updates. Money can still be made on the wealth of costumes and sticker packs.

I just realised there is a problem with my email for my PS3 and I can't use it any more. When I submitted to the water beta earlier on my phone I used my usual email address (not the PS3 one) and then realised I made a boo boo.
Then when I got home later I went on my PS3 and tried to change my PS3 email and it wouldn't let me change it to my usual email that I used to sign up to the beta

I then decided to make a new email address and changed my PS3 address to that. I then went to the sign-up page for the beta again and registered again with the new email and it worked again and said the congratulations bit.

So hopefully I have been entered with these new details???????

That's not true, is it?? Someone set me straight here. I seem to recall spending 4 bucks or so on that creator pack. I really, really do. It came with a global lighting change, tetherless jetpack, a few other things, and a handful of levels giving you the tools and demonstrating their use.

When I submitted my application I used the correct PSN ID, but an invalid email address.

I did do the form again, but I'm worried Because I already entered my PSN ID once, albeit with the wrong email.

Guys, I have a problem.

When I submitted my application I used the correct PSN ID, but an invalid email address.

I did do the form again, but I'm worried Because I already entered my PSN ID once, albeit with the wrong email.

Do you think I'll not be able to get in?

Also, my brother tried to sign up, but we share an internet connection (but not a PS3) does that disqualify us?

That's not true, is it?? Someone set me straight here. I seem to recall spending 4 bucks or so on that creator pack. I really, really do. It came with a global lighting change, tetherless jetpack, a few other things, and a handful of levels giving you the tools and demonstrating their use.

I'm definitely willing to concede that I may be flamingly wrong, but I distinctly recall paying for that kit...

I think it's just a legal thing that they have to put the age requirement in so they don't get into trouble if someone does something stupid like hack the beta server.
I can't imagine Mm would really be bothered how old anyone is, they just want creative people putting their new tools to good use and giving feedback.

Taking an educated guess i'd say the beta will be up and running next monday

I'd like to say i'm 100% on that but getting everything ready over a weekend seems unrealistic. But who knows maybe they have it ready and it's just a matter of flicking a switch.

Let's face it; the weekend is upon us, and therefore Mm employees will probably not be working, so definitely don't expect any news over the next two days, however, I think that they will begin sending out codes (or emails to say you're in) on Monday/Tuesday and the beta will open on either Thursday 27th August or Thursday 3rd of September (generally, Thursday is when new stuff is released because that's when items are uploaded to the PSN store).2009-08-22 04:10:00
