Awesome, someone is taking hold of the reigns! I would like to try, but I just have a Bluetooth headset, no other recording equipment ;_;. Plus my voice is probably not good enough, but yeah >_>. If I WAS going to be in, I would want to be an evil overlord guy- who fails all his evil schemes miserably.

For example, there could be an episode where I try to make a peanut, give it to someone, and watch it EXPLODE- but it explodes near me, or yeah... >_>

I have been planning an LBP machinima for months now, producing logo's and trying to get the correct recording equipment. I was going to work on it on my own whilst getting ideas for stories and characters from other people here at LBPCentral. We could merge both our projects into one if you wish?

The name I'm currently using is 'Sackinima' (a mix between Sackboy Machinima or Sackboy Cinema). I have set up a blip.tv account and also a youtube account. I have Sony Vegas 9 to edit however it won't allow me to record so I think thats going to have to be someone else's job! (instead I have been using Cyberlink Power Director and I hate it!)

For it to be good everyone has to be willing to do their job and they have to be pretty good at it! Everyone needs to take this seriously, Cog has proved himself with his Dance compilations (very good by the way ) but what about everyone else?

I have a mic, so I can easily talk in the stuff, but I'm kinda young, so I'll accept no...if you have to XD

EDIT:

A good sketch might be a few people trying to see who can get closest the the edge of a cliff, but someone falls off, so they try a whole bunch of ways in which they bring them back up...and at the end, they could all fall down and die XD

When I was practicing filming and editing I used sounds from various royalty free websites, the best is probably www.sounddogs.com

So I dont think we need a whole department on sound effects, just let whoever is editing get what they want from that site.		2009-06-29 16:35:00

Its a sketch show so no big main story, just lots of small stories or 'sketches' packed into an episode. We'll have some one off characters and some regulars, so I suppose the regulars could sort of have a base story.

We need loads of ideas and will always be open for suggestions, we need enough sketches to fill a 10 min episode and if all goes well (why wouldn't it ) we hope to make a series!!!

EDIT: If I quickly put together a video of some old practice skecthes I made it might make this project easier for people to understand. Just try to ignore the bad capture quality and the fact that they're not funny! Ok here it is, remember these are just tests and won't be used in the actual project!

..Maybe we could have a thing where someone plays as Old Snake Sackboy, and tries to infiltrate a random secret base. We could have Codec conversations and make fun of Metal Gear :/.

Also, a game show where the host asks impossible questions like "What color is my Sackmobile"? and drops an anvil down on people randomally?

Nice work, I liked the changing room idea!

If you like you can write some sketches (we despratley need some!) Don't act them out or anything just write a script and post it here!

I think we need some project guidlines/rules just so each sketch looks clean and professional. Without some rules this project could just end up as a big scruffy mess!
Here's a few I can think of, can anyone else think of some? Moley would you be so kind to place the rules a top your thread?

1.) Unless said to do so in the script no pushing square and bringing up popit! This takes away the film aspect and reminds the viewer that they're just watching a game. It looks unprofessional and scruffy.

2.) If you're filming offline then sign out of the PSN, this means you won't be bothered by the pesky loading symbol, the message's telling you that a friend has just achieved a score on whatever and so and so has just signed in/out. With these popping up in the video all the time it can ruin the sketch and make it much harder to edit.		2009-06-30 11:42:00

The problem would be the LNBP pop ups... UNLESS there is an account just for this, and we make sure to only add people in the group to it's friends list and make sure other people who are in the group but now playing don't do anything while we're filming... yeah, hat might be tough :/

I was meaning to ask. Should we use that fuzzy thing? Also, do you want to edit the video or shall I. You obviously already have the experience editing LBP video. Aaaaaand you can record in HD so I really don't know what you are willing to do.

Who wants to be a voice actor then? You need to be able to speak clearly over skype or MSN. Maybe on the PS3, but it might not be clear enough.

Um, I really don't like having to check other forums a lot, that's why the LBPC game (Not the one by rock) never worked out for me, as I never really went to the other forum. okay: heres my idea: Two robbers (dressed normally for this scene) walk in to a museum, they then meet up with a tourist and get a tour around the museum, after a short while, they come to a stop at a big shiny nickle (big shiny orb thats grabbable is fine) Which is said tobe the oldest nickel in history, the robbers are interested abd smile and nod thier heads at eatchother, then the video cuts to a sign that says 5 hours later and it comes in focus to the 2 robbers standing in a dumpster full of garbage (make standing room so that the eyes only peak out).

You witness the museum gaurd going home for the night and pass the dumpster that the two robbers are in, once the gaurd goes off screen, the robbers jump out and walk to the door, the door is locked so they have to get in throught the vent, so they jump from the dumpster in to the vent.

Cuts to them over a ventalaition shaft) Robber one is looking down ito the vent while robber two brings a long rope with sponge and a small lift.

Robber one moves his hand in a go motion and robber 2 slowly lowers robber one to behind a pillar.

Then you witness robber one come crashing through the roof and on to the floor while 2 gaurds come into the room and arrest them.

Scene cuts to jail cell) Robber 1 and 2 are in different jail cells and the camera focuses in on robber 1. He makes a scared expression as a big ugly guy (NPC on piston) walks from the corner into the front of robber 1.

You see a sign (in game) that drops down thats says POW! in big bold letters with a comic strip background.

And the last thing you hear is a scream (the in game one)

Lol, Leonardo I don't think you understand how this projects works. We don't make, film and edit everything at one time. Its an on going project that will last forever!!!

First off we write a script. Then eventually a prop designer will take on the job of making the set. When the set is made actors will get together with a recorder and film. The video captured will be uploaded to our Sackinima Dropbox account (a wesite that allows us to share files privately). The files will be downloaded by an editor and composed into a sketch. All that makes ONE sketch. After we have enough skecthes we put them together into a 10 minute episode. Then it gets uploaded to youtube. Understand now? 		2009-07-18 16:23:00

Well, I haven't had any good experience with LBP related video-stuff yet.

I almost ALWAYS act out when I play.I plan to buy a PS3 for my own room as soon as I can. So that might make it easier for me to read about a acting gathering and join right in from there. Acting I might be best at compared to other stuff.

As for set building, i would rate myself average so I could try that if I think i can...(depending on whats needed).

Writing...i do have good ideas from time to time, but not often enough to write it out. XD
So I might leave that to others mostly.

When I do make my amatuer ghostbusters video (more likely by my self so 1-sack in the screen at a time) I guess from that you can judge my skills in pretty much all the above.
I'll pretty much be playing multiple roles in that one. XD

This project is still going and I apologise for the lack of updates. I think the main reason for it is a few people are/or were away.

Me and Moley need everyone's support and help to keep this project alive, so please don't hesitate to post and come up with ideas.

We have come up with the idea of Sackinima showing off everyone's LBP machinima's; whether they are members of this project or not. These would be seperate from the Sackinima official episodes and would be uploaded to the Sackinima youtube account on their own (containing links to the creator etc.) So I may start work on that soon.

If you want a HD capture card (which everyone prefers) you'll be looking near the ?100 mark. The capture card I have was bought on ebay for ?30, and the quality is terrible

Can you show me any of the vids? It may just be a cheap capture card. Play around with the capture setting a bit and see if it makes a difference.

Luckily, I still had the cable that connected my PS2 to SCART so I used that to connect the PS3 AV connector to the SCART input on my DVD recorder.
It meant lowering the PS3 resolution to 576 interlaced but it was just good enough to work with and stopped me creating stuff that didn't show up when viewed via YouTube.
I then copied and converted the DVD VOB files to mpegs using the free convertor called "SUPER" on the PC.
From there I cut the bits together to fit the music using the video editing package Serif MoviePlus5 which I already owned.

Thanks for that! It is one of the best lbp videos on youtbe. I wondered how we managed to get that. I thought LM might have stolen it, but I made sure to check first.

I just use Sony Vegas Pro 9. It recognises .vob files and is great for editing and rendering. It also has a decent chroma key function. (Green screen thing...)		2009-08-14 00:40:00

I only got my bluetooth though so I'm not sure how you are gonna make the voice recording work but if you can make it work through people talking in the game or PSN then I'm in. I can do different types of voices as well, like Kermit The Frog.

plus just because we aren't recording machinima doesnt mean we should stop posting on OUR site....i mean seriously my project needs a lot of attention if we want to make it right....we could have already found a solution for how the battles would look...but NOOOOOooooOOOOOooooOOOoooo (lol excuse me) most of us don't even post there anymore...

Hey guys im new on this forum and i was looking for stuff to do and i came across this thread and i love the idea i am a very very good effects editor can do title sequences and loads of special effects i've had lbp since day of release but have only really just got into it i have published quite a few levels and have made numerous costumes and have the Yellow head costume so i could do some acting for you i live in the uk in sussex and am on from almost every day except fridays after 2 in the afternoon so add my PSN or reply here if interested my PSN is ShakeMeUpJudy and here is a link to some of my work

Did you make those videos using Sony Vegas? Did you use After Effects at all? We could do with someone who knows what to do with After Effects.

kk thanks i dont use an apple and i cant afford after effects right now for the fx bits i used FXHome Effects lab for lightning and fire and FXHome Composite lab for the cloning i got a trial version of sony veags which use to make the titles and so on.2009-10-22 08:04:00
