LBPCentral has an IRC channel for you to participate in. We do not actively moderate it and we cannot guarantee site rules will be followed. Here's the info for the channel:


Open your favorite IRC client.
Join irc.freenode.net
Type /join #lbpcentral

mIRC is good as anything, a very basic IRC client and free of charge. You can get it Here (http://www.mirc.com/).

Once you've installed it its just a matter of opening it up and connecting. If you have the software, an easy way to connect with a single click is to simply click this link below:
irc://irc.freenode.net:6667/lbpcentral

I quickly looked on google and that's actually the first one I tried just before I posted here asking.
I downloaded it and it said it was free for 30days then you had to pay for it ?????

I got a firefox plugin, ChatZilla. Seems to work well enough. I didn't feel like installing a full IRC client for something I might not use more than twice a month, if even that. 2009-03-27 14:22:00

I use firefox so this looks like a good choice for me.
I'll have a look at it in a mo (if the missus and kid get off the pc lol)

i know what you mean. It's a nice idea but it's still kind of inconveinent. I thought it was going to be something embedded in the site or something. I guess we just have to accept we arn't ever going to get anything like the original back2009-03-27 17:25:00

That also was my first thought. I downloaded it just after i read this post. Seems totally sufficient

Every time I go on there it has dawesbr and morrinn's names in the top left and I log in as dorien and then dawesbr's name goes like a shady colour but Morrinn's stays the same. All three of our names have a green circle next to them.
I write stuff and it comes up on the page but there is no other messages from anyone.
Does this mean they have just left themselves logged in and dawesbr is 'away' or something.

I doubt there is any PS3 IRC applet available.

Internet Relay Chat - basically a chat box.

Click here -> http://mibbit.com/chat/

Then in the first box, set IRC: to "Freenode", set your username, tpye in #lbpcentral into the channel box, then press go.		2009-03-28 14:51:00

Sorry to bring back such an old thread. Choosing between redundant threads or thread necromancy, I tried to pick the lesser evil. I'm guessing the channel is dead by now? Was there just not much interest? Not enough overlap between forum lurkers and irc idlers? The channel is still registered, according to freenode. It says it was registered March 27 and last used March 31. Three days was all it lasted?

Personally, I like IRC and think it would be easier to make "pick up games" with live chat rather than forum posts.		2009-07-04 04:28:00

This was the exact reasoning the staff had as well when it came to either an IRC or a thread dedicated to randomness. All in all, I thought the IRC was great while it lasted and would very much like to see users give it another go if the interest is still there... somewhere.		2009-07-08 13:11:00

... I've been maintaining my spam quantity with a seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeecwet chat room that I can't say more about cause there's a 20 person limit :kz: ... but, um, yeah.

I also know of some chat rooms you don't have to download and are instead on that site's server so no download required... So that would improve that problem...
