A Ninjas Tale - Bringing Down the Black Moon Dojo - Chapter 5

Archive: 2 posts

Released the fifth chapter in my Ninjas Tale series if anyone has played the previous ones.... I had made the first three pretty much right when the game came out so you probably haven't and you really have no need to play the others unless you want to. I'll bring you up to date in this post anyways.

In the first chapter, you start off training in your dojo (The Blue Moon Dojo) where you learn that there are a total of eight Moon Dojos and that they all try to live in peace. Near the end of your training you find Red Dojo Ninjas attacking your dojo.... so next level you attack their dojo and find out what other dojos may or may not have taken part in this breaking of the peace.

So, this is where it's set, you just helped out your allies the Green Moon Dojo, but they are crippled and have no chance on their own to confront the Black Moon Dojo for what it had done. So you brave the Black Moon Dojo and its challenges on your own.

It's probably the hardest of the chapters so far.... so I wouldn't expect just a quick run through if you decide to try it(it's also rather lengthy). I also would suggest playing it alone, some of it can be very difficult if you have more people.

I can do probably 5 F4F's, though I will still gladly return feedback to anyone if they are kind enough to leave me some(any and all would be appreciated)... just cant guarantee it to be right away.

I was going to post some pictures but I just turned my camera on to find out it was out of batteries.... so I'll post some in a little while.

Ok, I played this a little earlier. Very cool level. I loved the theme of the dead ninjas all over the place showing you who failed before! Some nice platforming, and this was a decently challenging level, although you added a decent amount of life to compensate.

Some thoughts:

On the part where you have to adjust the moons there was several times where I went to fly around the gas, only to find I had the wrong jetpack for that area and pulled myself into some gas. I would suggest putting a jetpack on the entrance to each of the areas.

Small turning squares area: On the part where you had to jump on them, the camera was panned way too far back making the platforming more difficult than it needed to be.

On platforms where you have to grab R1 to throw yourself up. This was a bit odd. A smoother way to handle this may be to have the sensor switch push a magnetic switch/key towards eachother using a piston, and have THAT switch push you up in the air. This allows you to get on the platform and have it pop you up in the air after a tiny delay. Up to you, though.

On one of these, when you get up to the top you are supposed to push a button to make the swing-moon appear. However, the button was hanging and didn't LOOK like a button so for a minute I couldn't figure out what to do here. I would suggest either having a magic mouth tell you to hit the button, or instead use a one-hit sensor switch to make it appear so you don't hit a button.
