I know I've been slacking lately. I could spout excuses, but instead I just want to apologize. I've put the site under other things on my priority list, and it's done some damage. I'm hoping to remedy that, so here's a peek at my plans for the site (in spoilers to keep info browse-able).

First of all, I've added some news stories that I overlooked. I plan on setting up a News Crew so we can stay more updated on LittleBigPlanet news; I generally do the news, which means if I'm not here it doesn't get done. This way, we can get news out more consistently. More info at a later date.
Second, I've done some cleaning. I've closed old threads that were abandoned by members who've left, I've redone things that could be done better (such as the new Spotlight Archive), and I'm working to make the site more efficient as a whole while still retaining the good stuff. We might remove features if necessary (that's for another post, though), but I promise we won't remove anything like XP or blogs. My goal is pruning where necessary to make room for the stuff we've got coming.
Third, we've got a ton of new site stuff coming at you in the future. I can't talk about most of it because it's not finalized, but I can say that I think you guys will be happy with it. I can tell you one thing: the next contest we have will have a pretty exclusive prize; stay tuned for that.
Fourth, the Spam Can. I know a lot of you are ****** off at me for removing it, and have been sharing those feelings with each other via Profile Messages (yes, I've read them). I tried my hardest to look through any anger and bitterness and learn about what actually bothered you, and I think I've come to a good solution - what do you guys think about an IRC? We will provide a link to it in Forum Games but we will also include a disclaimer that it will not be moderated, and LBPCentral does not officially endorse it. It will be like the Spam Can, but not affiliated with the site outside of us providing a link to it. I think this is a good compromise, but I'm interested in what you guys think, so let me know.
Fifth, advertisements. Please head to this thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=9938) and leave your thoughts so we can get a better idea of what you guys think.
Once again, I apologize for the delay. Many Crew members left and it caused a hiccup. We have recruited a couple more Crew members (at a grand total of 3) and we might add one or two more, but the drop in help caused us to be forced to delay until next time around. We are still adding levels on a daily basis, so we'll have a ton for you by the time Episode 10 releases. As an added bonus, for Episode 10, all activity restrictions have been removed. Hopefully this means even more feedback for you all.
Since interest in LittleBigPlanet is slowing, we want to be able to offer other areas of chat while still maintaining some sort of point. The Spam Can didn't really have a point, which is why it was nixed. However, we'd still like to provide other areas for you guys to mingle in. If there's something you think we should add to General Stuff, let me know here or in PM. Wow man. You thoroughly have impressed me. I can tell you put a tremendous time into all of this. I want to give you kudos and say I'm very glad your admin of this site. Uhm.. I have to be honest that I'm mostly interested in the spam can bit. And I think it's actually a pretty good idea, as it keeps it kinda... like ... outside LBPC.

Thirdly -- If the forum is slowing you might want to centralise people. This means having less sections. The less fragmented we are, the more the topic moves and this movement encourage people to post. It gives an illusion there's more activity.

Updates sound nice. I'm just continually impressed with how much thought and planning goes into this forum. It certainly shows, because this is by far the best forum I've seen and the only one I continually check up on.

Very Much so, I think Merging Project and Ideas could work, so could merging Level showcase with Object showcase. Help could be merged with "Everything else LBP" too.

At the moment i'm most interested in more general stuff and so, as i have lost a little interest in LBP...
And secondly i agree with rangerzero, at the moment there seems to be to many sections, less sections would probably lead to that people see more threads that they may be interested in without needing to go to the exact section. Usually you just go to the same sections every time you log in and then you miss many threads you will like.		2009-03-26 07:43:00

I'm waging its a digital price and not a meat-space goodie...
As for the spam-can, I have absolutely no gripe with the removal of that thread. An IRC channel would be a neat idea, albeit it might be tough to moderate to the same standards you do the forums.

Wow, nice one CC. Though I hadn't even thought you'd been 'slacking'. Oh well.
That's a cool decision with the Spam Can. I personally wasn't too bothered... as I always liked the site alot when the Spam Can didn't even exist in the first place.
As for the general area... I don't know if adding much more would do any good as it may make things a bit over complex.... it's just up to everyone to make interesting threads

IMO, interest in LBP is slowing down because of school. A lot of people have been busy with tests and the likes, not to mention many Creators are waiting for the Yarg update. It'll certainly rise with that, as well as LBP-PSP. Eventually. :]

Second, IRC may be a good idea so members can communicate and interact in a different way. I wouldn't mind moderating the channel in some way or another, either.

Lastly... The exclusive prize Cartman's talking about will probably blow you all away.

You guys must be really busy atm with your staff dwindling and I understand the stress the Spam Can must of been putting on the staff AND the site. So you have my vote now

You have always come good on finding a balance in the end that suits everyone.
And that is an achievement on a site of diverse individuals.

the next contest i've been looking forward to by with the mention of an exclusive prize really peaked my interest.

when you're cleaning out the site i hope you won't get rid of the arcade. it gives me something to do when i'm waiting or have nothing else to do.

The spam can was a place where people who don't like LBP could talk about stuff other then LBP... or something. It was very random, a place where people could SPAM =O

Anyway, when I first saw talk of a secret, I thought it was "it" (can I just talk about that? :/), but then I saw it was a reward... is this the same reward people would get for donating more then 10 bucks? :O		2009-03-28 03:04:00
