The Scribble Glitch/Glass Cow Glitch.

Archive: 18 posts

I've discovered the cow glitch again while fiddling around with the gas tool, however it makes everything look like green glass, with the material you want's properties:

Place your material
Gasify it
After gasifying, make sure the object is highlighted with the gasify tool
Close the gasify tool, but keep your pop-it open
Go to "Capture Object"
Capture your material
Place your new object
De-gasify

It creates green glass with the properties of the material, plus slight aesthetic changes (sponge has a line round it, rubber has a bulge etc.)

EDIT: Actually, I think Anti-color and Re-color may have been made this way.

Anywho, any thoughts on how this may be evolved to make a full cow glitch?

EDIT2: Turns out this has been found before (clearly, due to the anti-color/re-color shebang). Anywho, so yeah.

Thegide, yes, I think so. I think it's the same reason that the thin layers on thick layers glitch works - the pop-it does some prep. work or something.2009-03-25 17:32:00

You can get it so that it's not green, though. Just use a different gas color.2009-03-26 00:36:00

Sorry but these are ancient news...

That has always been possible, that's how they made anti color and re-color, glass gets invisible as long as it's behind any other glass, that way the glass parts of the bugged material gets invisible whilst all the other parts are visible, on cloth that is the stitching in the edges.
And btw, it's called the scribble or anti color effect...

I actually already posted in the first post that this may be how anti-color was done, so it being old news is old news. But it's clearly not old news to most people 2009-03-26 18:59:00

WHAT IS THE COW GLITCH!?!?

It's talked about so often but I haven't a dang clue what it is.

Material->Gas->Material Changer->Degas. Looks like the material you change it into with the material changer, but with the properties of the original. It got fixed by Mm though ;_;2009-03-26 20:05:00

Wonder why they delete the good glitches people use for better levels, yet they leave bad glitches that ruin levels and screw up profiles?2009-03-27 04:53:00

Because the bad glitches are hard to find because they could be caused by anything whilst in the "good" glitches creators can use the cause and how to obtain the glitch is already known.
@dawesbr, it's nothing wrong with posting it again, it's just that the title is misleading and that i think that maybe you should give credit to xkappax who discovered it first.

I found it entirely separately, but ok:

xkappax discovered this before me.

Fair enough?

Sorry, i didn't mean to offend you or anything like that.
It's just that you claim to have discovered something that has already been discovered, it seems like many people here didn't know about it so it's great that someone posts it again. But the title is still misleading, it sounds like you have discovered something new and you claim that it is the cow glitch that is back. This however is a completely different glitch and it isn't back at all, it has been there since the beginning.

this glitch doesn't work anymore, mm banned it, and I don't know why. The thought of MM banning more glitches scares me, glitches are cool, and even though they can get a little annoying to some people, doesn't mean they should be banned!2009-05-31 23:03:00
