Ok, I've been meaning to put these up for a while. Ran into these levels (plus some GREAT pirate-themed levels) a while ago. I had so much fun in this authors levels I put a comment on one of them telling him about LittleBigPlanetCentral (the only author I've ever done this with).

He joined up as Matt 82. He still hasn't put any of his levels on the showcase so I'm telling all of you - check out these levels. This creator as a real knack for creating snappy fun levels with some great content. In fact, many here could learn from some of his ideas - in one of his pirate levels he mixed a bunch of sounds to sound authentically like the inside of a pirate pub.

Ooooh, i'll have to check this out tomorrow. You can tell when a level is of good quality, so when you're recommending one it's ought to be good.. right? Or are you setting us up playing a nooby level Nah just kidding. I will look into this tomorrow 2009-03-23 20:16:00

Definately not setting you up - I had a blast. They don't fall under the category of "eye candy" - they have a really fun quality about them and are filled with great little ideas and humor.2009-03-23 20:23:00

Those were great! You can see that he improved after the first one. I loved the lighting, and how all the rocks look glowing red. Thanks!2009-03-23 23:53:00

Well, i played them, and they were pretty good THe Mars levels were a bit dissapointing in my taste, but the pirate ones were really good.

One thing i really hated was that the Hard version was just the same, but with the traps being a bit faster...

Anyway, some pretty good levels

Well I'm flattered. Thanks for putting my levels on here.

Just as a note to Thommy the third, the 'hard version' was the original version of the level. However very few people could finish it and as a result it was getting terrible ratings and tags. So I decided to make it easier, but I felt like I`d be pandering to the masses a little too much by lowering the difficulty. So i have both.

So really, the normal version is the hard version with the obstacles slowed down . I also consider the harder one to be the true version, but I like the idea that everyone can complete my levels.

YouTube - [LBP] Life on Mars
YouTube - [LBP] Life on Mars II

I remembered yesterday tha someone had filmed my two Mars levels so I thought I`d put them on here. They`re not great by any standard but they were my first two levels.

I`m not too fussed about feedback or anything as I`m not going to change anything at this stage.

It is not a level based around a police drama set in the 70s.2009-04-11 18:20:00

Hmmmm.... Okay, Matt - I think a new level topic is starting to come together.... Mars, pirates, and 70's police. Maybe throw in a few bell bottoms....2009-04-11 18:29:00

I wonder if MM would have any problem with us throwing in the theme from "Shaft" in the background.... that would be great background music for pirates riding dinosaurs on mars being chased by 70's police wearing bell bottoms. I can dig it!

I actually remade the first one from scratch when CY came out. To highlight what a bit of know-how can do, my thermo in the original is ready to blow, but with teh new one it`s not even over half way.

I'm a little annoyed that you can`t reset the scores on the board. One of the things that always bugged me about Life on Mars was that I'd added stupid amounts of scoreballs for doing nothing other than pressing a button. At the time I was just testing stuff out, but as time went on, it would annoy me as looking cheap.

So they`re away but the huge scores remain which is a bit of a pain. Not the end of the world I suppose.

IF you guys are doing the series (Ccubbage and CNP), do the british one, because the American version had the cheapest ending I've seen on Television.2009-04-19 23:19:00
