I'm scared...

Archive: 8 posts

....
A lot of threads on the official boards have been made recently about the YLOD.
Now I'm extremely scared, seeing most launch 60GB's have, and I have one.
YLOD isn't a care problem, but a hardware problem, I got the feeling my PS3's time is coming soon...

Anecdotal evidence from a forum makes things look way worse than they are.

On the lastest stats available, the PS3 defect rate really freaking low.

-Keep you PS3 in a room with stable temperature, less humid as possible.
-Don't be a fool and play 6 hours straight. Why not take a break after 2 hours?
-Do not turn off your PS3 completely with the power switch behind. Leave it in sleep mode when you're done playing.

Why is that? I always shut my machine off completely with the main button on the back of my machine after putting it into sleep mode using the PS button.

Actually it's like a computer. Its better to let in on sleep mode. I might prevent electrical problem at boot up, save some wear on mechanisms that needs to start (like when the hard drive's plate turns), etc.

They are designed to be left in sleep mode.
