Aptitude

Note this is the beta version so it is not very long.

You start out in the desert, as you are walking you stumble upon a building.
The door opens and you go inside. Once inside you meet a robot that tells you you are in a weapons facility called aptitude industries. He then tells you that you are there newest weapon and that your training will begin immediately. Then you go through your first part of training.

Aptitude? Strikingly similar to "Aperture"! It's a conspiracy!

Nah, I'm kidding. I'm actually about to go play Portal, speaking of Aperture... But I'll put this on my list of levels to play. -makes a list of levels to play-

So far, so good! Both the opening desert scene and the underground base are very nice so far. There are some areas in the base, that seem a bit plain, but since this is a demo, I figured you'll be continually adding detail. The platforming segments were enjoyable and were the perfect difficulty for me.

The only issue that I ran into concerns the door at the beginning. If the player, grabs the button, but then moves forward to the first layer, the doors shut and the player is stuck. I'd suggest making the player pull a lever to close the doors, then they will be forced to stay on that layer.

It's looking good Sonic. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I just played your level and I really enjoyed it. It was good fun with some nice advantages to it.

Pros:
+Some lovely work on the desert
+Good use of music and sound effects in the opening areas
+Some nice designs (especially on the door).
+Great platforming sections!

Cons:
-Needs more decoration in the background

Overall though, I liked the level and rated it 4 stars because it was really good and had a lot of potential. Can't wait for the full level.

I like the concept. Can't wait for the full version. ^_^

The sliding part on the rail is cool! The jump platforms are well timed, and I like the LCD face. Definitely let me know when the level is done.

I just played your level and I really enjoyed it. It was good fun with some nice advantages to it.

Played it again last night and I like the changes you made. Really love the platforming and the structures you've got but it's still got limited decoration and lighting for my taste. Can't wait for the final version.2009-05-28 03:18:00

lights, textures, small geometric shapes from other materials, vents, stickers. There are a lot of options. Check out Vortex2002 level 007 Sack Betrayed and check out his details on some of the underground areas and the puzzle room.2009-05-28 18:47:00
