Lethal materials and the thermo?

Archive: 4 posts

Does using large sections of lethal materials (like gas for instance) significantly increase your thermo?

The level I am working on has a fairly high thermo, and I have a very limited palette of materials I am working with right now, about 5.

I don't have a lot of loose parts, and everything that isn't supposed to move is glued down or attached to dark matter.

The level is not super embellished yet.

And does the background scene (like the wilderness look) add to the thermo, or those sorts of things.

I am trying to free up some room to do a few cool things and have a fun boss battle.

I never tested that but since lethal stuff does animate, i'm sure it takes more thermo somehow that regular material. It might not take significantly more though.

Also keep in mind that the first half of your thermo will fill up ALOT faster than the second half. I made 2 tierce of Sack's In The City with the last quarter of the thermo LOL.

That is good. I am glad about that... The first must fill up so fast because of adding the new materials for the first time.

Since I am not adding a lot of new materials to the level, it should be ok then.

I am trying to save a area for a rain section.. And that is going to eat it up.

I've never noticed an increase in the thermo usage for lethalized materials. I would have to run some tests to be able to say for sure though.2009-03-16 19:21:00
