Omg!! Aced the bunker!

Archive: 34 posts

Well, I was acing some story levels, and saw that thread on the bunker (with the swearing) so I thought I'd attempt it. The first playthrough of the game, I took 2 days to beat it. Then my ps3 broke. Now I beat it on my second try. Now, Acing it, 3rd try, and only time I'd gotten up to the wheel. It isn't as hard as I remembered it! Wheel wasn't bad, if anything, the begining part was the hardest. I was nervous as **** on the last conveyor belt though!2009-03-16 05:53:00

Congratulations! Bunker was the last level I needed to ace too.

I saved the collector for last, so it felt like I was beating the game all over again.

Congrats! I aced the Bunker too. It actually only took me a few times to ace, I didn't actually find it too hard. I think I'm going to have much more trouble with acing The Collectors Lair...:blush:2009-03-22 23:21:00

I decided a couple of weekends ago that it was time I tried to ace all the levels and I went through them all. The bunker was definitely one of the hardest.

Now I just have to go through and get all those prize bubbles aaahhhhhh...... lol

Yeah, I got it on about my 4-5 attempt, and it was the first attempt that made it to the first conveyor belt. Did the wheel first try 2009-03-23 07:52:00

Nice work! I just aced The Bunker yesterday as well, and I finished off The Collector this morning. Yipee, Play trophy!

I worked on Boom Town for a long time, gave up on it for a couple weeks, and then aced it my first try yesterday. Whew. The Collector's Lair wasn't quite as hard as The Bunker, but it was challenging for sure. My most hated level to ace was Sensei's Castle. Once I get all the items there I am never playing that level again. Bleagh!

Yeah, Sensei's castle was also my hardest, followed by the collectors lair (15 or so attempts).

I just got the play trophy now though! First try today I aced the collectors lair! Now I just need Play, Top of Class and Bootymaster (dont have MGS Pack, hopefully yet anyway.)

nice!
The bunker is hard because of the spinny wheels but its one step to aceing them all right?

I found the bunker hard, at first, but after a while it became quite easy, actually. Its one of the most challenging levels, in my opinion, and my favorite as well.

The last conveyor belt is annoying, I'll agree with that.

I actually still have yet to even bother acing any levels.
The only level I actually tried acing is the final boss, which is actually easy after few plays.
Anyways, good job!

I just aced the bunker yesterday as well. All I have to ace now is the collector's lair, and the final boss.2009-04-21 15:00:00

I've got the play trophy now. I actually (honestly, I'm not lieing) find the bunker easy, usually I can beat the wheel without dying 6-7/10 times.2009-04-23 00:47:00

Well, everybody has their differences.

I aced the bunker in less than 5 tries - tries only to ace it, not collect any items, which I do in seperate runs. I've now aced all of the collector levels, garden levels, savannah levels, and wedding levels. Boom town I got nearly to the end to on my first try, but the rocks that move up and down smashed into my impact explosive and killed me. ._.

I personally don't have a care in the world for trophies; though if I really enjoy a game, collecting everything within it is always fun.

Can u get platinum without MGS pack btw?

You should be able to, considering the MGS pack came out seperately from the main game.

I need to look up a guide to unlocking everything in the MGS pack after I finish unlocking everything in the main story mode. XD

The bunker is a pain to ace, just because there are so many little bits where a slight mistake costs you that ace. I think it took me about an hour to collect all items and ace, which is the longest of any level.

I only wanted to ace them to unlock stuff, trophies mean nothing to me. If the trophy unlocks content (like in many games) I'll go for the trophy. IMO the trophies in LBP are a waste of space, but each to their own.

As for unlocking everything of MSG - it's actually a lot easier that the main game, nothing particularly secret, no multiplayer parts etc etc. Did the whole thing in one evening.

If trophies are required to unlock content in games I purchase in the future, I'm going to be ******.

If there's no multiplayer unlockables in the MGS pack, then that's a good thing.

I miss some items on each run-through of story levels, and have over 80% of the items total unlocked. 93% of the canyons and 100% of everything before it, but the multiplayer areas are what really cause trouble.

Your sig says you need to do the multiplayer sections. Send me a friend invite if you want and maybe we can do those.

The one thing in LBP that I hate online is that there's a delay in taking damage or on impact explosives (fired from a boss for example) affecting things. Still, this is usually minor.

Hey, thanks for the offer. I've got a 2 port usb to ps2 controller adaptor coming so I'll effectively have 3 controllers and be able to do the majority of the stuff on my own, or with IRL friends, but I'll add you when I get home. As for trophies unlocking content, look at drake's fortune. Each trophy is for x headshots or y kills with a certain weapon etc. Certain number of trophies gives unlockable content. You've always had to do something for unlockable content and as developers HAVE to put trophies in the games, linking them in this way makes sense.

But trophies for trophies sake just baffles me.

EDIT: I just realised how off topic this post was. Sorry!

Not a problem.

I've aced and completed every level now, just finished unlocking the minigames and playing them...some I just suicided in to get them finished asap, though.

I've got 92% of the goodies unlocked. I just need more people on my friends list who I can invite to play with. We could have a few hour gaming session on the weekend, maybe organize a full story play-through...I love the story levels; unlocking everything and having fun while doing it.

After I unlock everything, I'll probably seriously get into the level editing, or at least take time to make at least one good level in LBP. Right now I've only experimented with it, made bridges and simple things for example. Haven't even tried magnetic switch/key configurations; which are hopefully not beyond me.

Anyways, to be on topic, the bunker is my favorite level in the game, even though I love them all. Out of story levels at least. I think it provides the best challenge, and I love the backround music and theme.

finally decided to go through and ace them all. i'm leaving the bunker and collectors lair til last.

cannot for the life of me ace the dojo. those cardboard things you run across are crap. don't think i've ever made it over the last one without it collapsing at least once. just seems that it's down to luck whether you get past or not.

I've never gotten stuck on those, as long as you run at full speed across them and do NOT hesitate at all.

I do hate those, though.

I've never had the problem if they were standing still and I ran straight across them at the normal running speed - not including any momentum from being thrown you might have, with the stick all of the way to the side.

Good luck though. If you're scared, you can time a jump and only have to partially do them by jumping over the last few ones.

Well I eventually did it! Took more attempts at that than the bunker. Really pulling my hair out for a while there but got there in the end. Feels good to have aced them all.2009-04-28 00:19:00

Unlocking everything is far harder than acing them, since you need competent people to play with, sometimes even 3 others. Good luck with that if you're also aiming for it. I know I need the luck. -.-

Good job, though.
