Possibly some easy way of doing complex things seen in those complex levels? Like an improved camera tool, where the camera follows a certain object, without needing a magic mouth (great for cutscenes and pinball levels)

hmm sounds interesting I remember a interview where at some point Alex went off and started to play around with a debug system and made it so that LBP was shown in a 1st person view..or maybe is was 3rd person cant find the interview right now but that could be something completely crazy. should be fun to find out!!!!

Yeah, I read that interview as well, but I doubt they will go into first person. But I'm desperate to see what Alex is talking about.

just because it's in 1st person, doesn't mean it's going to be a mindless shooter. with the 1st person view, scary levels could have creepy, narrow corridors that have things pop-out at you. or you could make a nice maze. the only problem with this view is that it would be much closer to the level and unless it (the level) was decorated nicely, it might look ugly.

Dear God you guys think wayyyy too much. You speculate on speculation that was about speculating about some previous speculation. first person view... LOL. So ain't happening. You really think you would play a game with a side background on your left only? You seriously think that first person platforming opens up for more gameplay? Or you really think that you'd play in some tiny corridor with a background in front of you and the some big emptyness on each side? What happens with the thin layers? LOL Seriously, even THINKING about the possibilities is ridiculous, simply ridiculous. Ain't happening. File my prediction. .

1st-person would be a terrible idea. It's already bad enough with all of those Paintinator levels out there... imagine what it would be like with 1st-person. Perhaps it is water?

I would hate first person to be honest. The view the way it is perfect. I can hardly see them implementing such a game changing idea anyways. Water would be my guess, and would be the best thing for them to add in my opinion. At least we know something big is in the offing and not just more costumes Maybe we'll get an annoucment or at least a hint around Cornish Yarg? Maybe thats why they are hanging on and not releasing it yet? Maybe it might be included :O

Why would you implement 1st person... And if it would be done, than it would be in LBP 2, because i don't think you can implement 1st person in a side-scroller :/

Its only case of changing the camera to implement 1st person. Its actually already been done, in an IGN interview one of MM start messing around with it. The game is built on polygons so is in 3D already. It just would'nt look right, and would be fairly boring. You could only move on three planes, the thin planes would become redundant. It just wouldnt look or work right in my opinion.
