Misleading radius

Has it happened to you that whenever you set a proximity radius to a proximity/magnetic key sswitch, the radius is reduced or less that what you set it to? or when you have a set radius leave, and comeback to change it the radius shrinks before expanding again? If so, is there a way to know how much it will be reduced? | 2009-03-14 17:35:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
This annoyed the hell out of me when I was trying to fine tune switch-induced changes in music on my second level. By far the most annoying editor quirk for me. I'd be so happy if someone knew a solution to make adjusting radius on mag switches predictable. | 2009-03-14 18:58:00 Author: sny Posts: 144 |
This is really annoying as well, I think it's to do with how the d-pad is done in stages, and when you use the analog stick it automatically rounds it to the nearest of these stages. | 2009-03-14 19:05:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
I will use the D-pad for sure next time | 2009-03-14 21:23:00 Author: dobi6 Posts: 359 |
D-pad is the way to go. If given the option, I'd rather replace the location of the switch, rather than adjust the proximity with the analog sticks, because, as you say... too approximate. | 2009-03-14 21:28:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
you could go into the pause screen (create mode) and change the view to try and be more accurate (front view). it won't stop it from messing up but it makes it easier to set the radius perfectly (at least for certain areas). | 2009-03-15 00:37:00 Author: RickTheRipper Posts: 345 |
I will use the D-pad for sure next time It does the same thing. I only ever use the pad and it does this all the time | 2009-03-15 01:39:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
It does the same thing. I only ever use the pad and it does this all the time yes, it reduces no matter what, so far the only thing near a solution that i've come up for this is is to make the radius a bit bigger than what you need it, tho it still messes up a lot... | 2009-03-15 02:56:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
I know this sounds kind of stupid, but it's worked for me: During design I generally use a little sticker on the background to mark the radius. I use the front view and set the radius out to the sticker. If it needs to be adjusted, I move the sticker and then set the raduis to it again. This is so until I'm finished designing I have a visible marker of the radius and can easily make adjustments. | 2009-03-16 18:49:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
lol this happens all the time for me to so i never get my levels finnished... im more of a object creator then a level creator lol and i prefer testing and reviewing so its ok for me now i never have to worry anymores | 2009-03-16 18:52:00 Author: Zommy Posts: 1232 |

That is smart. | 2009-03-16 18:55:00 Author: dobi6 Posts: 359 |
