Which Idea to choose
Archive: 12 posts
So, recently I've been coming up with a large amount of different ideas and the such for LBP levels. All have different amounts done on them but I was wondering what ones YOU guys would rather play ![]() So please, if you have time, just make a comment saying which one you like (and maybe why) thanks ![]() Sack it to 'em Plot: You are a sack wrsetler in the SWF (Sack Wrestling Federation). You are quickly found by a manager who wants a wrestler to take on Big Daddy. However, you have to hone your skills (could involve many different challenges) before finally taking on Big Daddy. Potential Best Bit:Swinging across a gap on a punchbag as part of your training. Amount done:I have made bodyguards for Big Daddy, completed the manager and have made plans for the finally boss. Dragon Temple Plot:A dragon has ruined a chinese village and taken their princess hostage. You have to travel to the dragon temple and fight the boss dragon to regain the princess. Potential Best Bit:The boss battle could be awesomeness - or complete fail! Amount done: I had started on this level (got about a third through it before it basically shut down on me) and then I stopped. Very frustarting to have to start again though. Coastin' in the Jungle Plot:You have signed up for a jungle safari on a rollercoaster. Your journey begins well, until your realises half-way a Tiger has begun eating away at the track. This means you'll have to make your own way out of the jungle... Potential Best Bit:The rollercoaster ride at the beginning. Amount done:Currently I have lots of bits of track, I've learned how to make rollercoasters and I've made the tiger that eats the track. Thanks so much for reading, I really value your opinions - thanks again ![]() | 2009-03-13 20:13:00 Author: Coxy224 ![]() Posts: 2645 |
In order of preference: 1. Coastin' in the Jungle I think the focus should be on the jungle escape rather than the coaster itself. If your coaster functions more like a safari tour than a trip to Six Flags I think this could be great. It's a pretty extreme crossover, on the other hand, to make a "wild ride" coaster level that suddenly transforms into a standard platformer. This would be a totally innovative level idea and I would jump at the chance to play this. 2. Dragon Temple. A very solid, coherent level concept. Could be done very well. But, do the Chinese have princesses? You might want to reconsider the identity of your victim^^. 3. Sack it to 'em I'm not a wrestling fan, so this is ranked last on my list. I suppose the level could work well regardless, but I'd rather play either of the above two first. | 2009-03-13 20:53:00 Author: Thegide ![]() Posts: 1465 |
I don't like the wrestling idea either.. I think you should go with the Jungle idea. But TheGide already mentioned that you should focus on the jungle, instead of the coaster. I don't understand why there's a coaster in a jungle...? Do you mean a safari-like monorail to show off all the jungle animals, like the Jurassic Park movies kind of thing? | 2009-03-13 21:50:00 Author: ThommyTheThird ![]() Posts: 440 |
I think the Jungle Safari and the Dragon Temple are the best ideas of the three. And regarding the princess: didn't they have the Shogun in ancient times, or am I messing that up with the Japanese? One really great cross over of ride/coaster and platformer is "The Movies" I think it was called. If done right, it can be a right thrill and a fun level. ![]() | 2009-03-13 23:55:00 Author: Sad_Eva ![]() Posts: 12 |
I think the Jungle level is winning ![]() | 2009-03-14 03:51:00 Author: Sackdragon ![]() Posts: 427 |
I too like the Coastin' in the Jungle idea the best. The Dragon Temple, as you yourself said, could be either fantastic or lame - but i definitely think the potential is there. I'd have to see more on the wrestler before I could really say. My take on the wrestling idea is that it would really work best as a satire - all tongue-in-cheek - with lots of inside WWF references. But that's just me. | 2009-03-14 05:41:00 Author: v0rtex ![]() Posts: 1878 |
I agree too. The jungle one sounds the most interesting for visuals and plot line. I'm a dragon nut so I'd play the dragon one too but the jungle idea where your transport breaks is so Jurassic Park - sounds adventurous to me. | 2009-03-14 06:59:00 Author: Morgana25 ![]() Posts: 5983 |
Thanks to everyone who has voted and offered suggestions - your help is greatly appreciated! ![]() I have decided to make Coastin; in the Jungle, and the coaster section has now been finished. It's not exactly a thrill ride, but it's mainly going to focus on the platforming | 2009-03-18 22:47:00 Author: Coxy224 ![]() Posts: 2645 |
I like #3 as well. I think that would be your best bet as to popularity. (Because really, no one wants to play a wrestling game anyway, that's why they bought LBP, lol. No offense Nya~ ;p ) | 2009-03-22 21:54:00 Author: SawronZXZ ![]() Posts: 463 |
Oooh I really like the jungle idea, is definitely the most interesting idea. | 2009-03-22 22:04:00 Author: olit123 ![]() Posts: 1341 |
Coastin' in the Jungle Plot:You have signed up for a jungle safari on a rollercoaster. Your journey begins well, until your realises half-way a Tiger has begun eating away at the track. Amount done:Currently I have lots of bits of track, I've learned how to make rollercoasters and I've made the tiger that eats the track. Heres an idea, make the player repair the rollercoaster before they can ride it (like grab the areas that need fixing, jumping up and down the wooder sides to get to the bits to fix) This would make a nice edge to make your level different from the million roller coaster levels out there ![]() | 2009-03-22 23:59:00 Author: Pinchanzee ![]() Posts: 805 |
