http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Hanging_Gardens_of_Babylon.jpg The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven wonders of the Ancient world, every heard of it? Well, I was in my AP Euro class daydreaming (as usual), and the teacher was talking about the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. So I thought, "how cool would it be to have this in LBP?" And then my mind did it's thing. So what do you guys think? | 2008-08-22 03:57:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
Yeah I heard about it in 7th grade (I'm going into 10th now). It was a gift from A.. (something) to his lover, was it not? (I will edit this & see if I was correct. ) EDIT: Yep! I got the basic story down, except the lover's name starts with an A instead. 'The Hanging Gardens of Babylon (also known as the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis) (near present-day Al Hillah in Iraq, formerly Babylon) are considered one of the original Seven Wonders of the World. They were built by Nebuchadnezzar II around 600 BC. He is reported to have constructed the gardens to please his wife, Amytis of Media, who longed for the trees and fragrant plants of her homeland.[1] The gardens were destroyed by several earthquakes after the 2nd century BC.' I don't know a lot about it, but it would be awesome in-game. Time to research it so I can avoid looking like I don't know what I'm talking about! EDIT: Haha, maybe it could be like the Knight trailer where instead of saving his lover, the Sackperson could build the Hanging Gardens for her. Aww. <3 :o At the end, of course, it would get hit by earthquakes and end up falling on and killing the Sackgirl (like in the Sackzilla trailer). Wow, I'm evil. :kz: | 2008-08-22 03:59:00 Author: Unknown User |

No one really really knows much about the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, other then that they were awesome when they existed and that some guy build it for his wife. I just want to recreate them in LBP, just to see what it might feel like to walk in the actual gardens. | 2008-08-22 04:07:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
Very cool...bro...you could after your done continue doing a level based on each of the & wonders of the ancient world... | 2008-08-22 04:08:00 Author: Noonian Posts: 523 |

Very cool...bro...you could after your done continue doing a level based on each of the & wonders of the ancient world... I was actually thinking about doing that before I saw your post but still, I think I may do that. Of course, I don't know what all of the wonders are, so that could become a problem... >_> You guys can help me with this if you like, I think I'll call it, 'Project LittlebigWonders' | 2008-08-22 04:13:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
LittleBigWonder! I like it! The 7 Wonders of the Ancient World are: 1. Great Pyramid of Giza 2. Hanging Gardens of Babylon 3. Statue of Zeus at Olympia 4. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus 5. Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus 6. Colossus of Rhodes 7. Lighthouse of Alexandria There are also a lot of other wonders, but it would be good to stick to the Ancient Wonders. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonders_of_the_world Thanks for the link Marino! I think that we'll do the Natural Wonders after we're done with the Ancients wonders, but I'm skipping ahead of myself, am I not? For building them, I think we should go in this order: 1. Hanging Gardens of Babylon 2. Great Pyramid of Giza 3. Statue of Zeus at Olympia 4. Lighthouse of Alexandria 5. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus 6. Colossus of Rhodes 7. Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus I'm basically doing these in the order that I care about them... | 2008-08-22 04:25:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

Haha, #5 for 'USA Today's New Seven Wonders' is... Wait for it... THE INTERNET! Would be ineteresting to see this happening... | 2008-08-22 05:15:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
how about you are an archaeologist and you find the hanging gardens buried in a deep cavern underground. You explore the gardens jumping around the ledges and doing platform stuff. Then you would find the extremely rare White Desert Rose and you got to take it but before you get to it you are attacked by a race of underground humans who have lived underground in the hanging gardens. You grab the Rose and run to the end of the level while the underground humans chase you. I will make this now so no stealing! | 2008-08-22 08:44:00 Author: muttjones Posts: 843 |
The Seven Wonders of the Modern World The Empire State Building The Itaip? Dam The CN Tower The Panama Canal The Channel Tunnel The North Sea Protection Works The Golden Gate Bridge Someone please explain why the Empire State Building is in there but, the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL isn't? That doesn't make sense to me but, I'm not overly familiar with the ESB. | 2008-08-22 15:31:00 Author: 1000101 Posts: 192 |

D: That's a pretty good idea actually, I was thinking more of a display type of level, but this works too... but I'll go with my display idea, because that other thing is your idea. Someone please explain why the Empire State Building is in there but, the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL isn't? Wow actually I really like the idea of the Hanging Gardens... it sounds really cool... and well I suppose history is my best subject in school because I find it the most interesting... (not that school is even close to interesting by any stretch of the imagination... but I think it's my favorite class there) anyway it sounds pretty cool... let me know if I can help in any way. | 2008-08-24 05:39:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

History is my favorite subject too! I plan to become a history teacher... but enough, that's a little off topic. I'm still debating whether or not to put in enemies, and I'm still undecided. So why don't we have a vote? Would you have me include enemies? -Yes -No | 2008-08-24 05:49:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

XD Anyway... hmmm interesting idea, I suppose we (meaning you, unless you want me to help out! =P) could put in some enemies just to keep it interesting... like idk ancient Babylon warriors! haha well just a thought... | 2008-08-24 05:53:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

Ancient Babylonian warriors? What on earth did they look like... I will use my google-fuu to find out! Okay, I found this picture: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2201/2482184861_ec71a87c46.jpg?v=0 I'll use that as my model when creating them. | 2008-08-24 06:00:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

Yeah, that'll be the basic design. Of course, there will be a boss on the top floor of the gardens. I have two ideas of what the boss will be, still deciding though, give me a minute... King Nebuchadnezzar II will be the boss, I'll keep the details of what he will do to myself, but feel free to speculate. | 2008-08-24 06:32:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

I don't know could be a multitude of things... Should be fun! | 2008-08-24 06:57:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

I'm actually have this level planned out already, I just have to draw it up(which will take me awhle) and then build it. The Pyramid at Giza will be next, so what will we do with that? I'm thinking an Indiana Jones/the Mummy sort of thing. | 2008-08-24 07:03:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

Though I think I do like your whole Indiana Jones/ The Mummy idea... could have like mummy minions throughout XD... and I just had a thought for the boss... maybe like make the Pharoah Khufu (as it was suppposedly built for him) if you want, you could also have like Cleopatra (not that she really had anything to do with the Great Pyramid... but when most people think of egypt they think of Cleopatra and pharoahs... maybe gold... and a whole lot of sandy desert... =P | 2008-08-24 07:12:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

I have pretty clear idea now of what I'm going to do now. Now there's an archaelogist looking sackboy standing outside the pyramid that asks you to retrieve the treasure thing(haven't decided what this is yet ), and you of course, readily agree. So they go on they're little adventure and encounter booby traps, spike pits, mummys, deadly scorpions, molten lava, etc... and when they finally get the treasure thing, you'll fall down into a hole, and then you'll see some spooky text and then you'll have a boss fight. Then after you beat the boss you'll get to the other side of the pyramid where the finish line and a very happy archaelogist are awaiting you. | 2008-08-24 07:23:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

I like it, it sounds perfect... as for this treasure it could be many things... a traditional pile of riches (gold, jewels, etc...) it could be limitless power.. who knows... and yeah for the boss I like my idea of like a pharoah... but it's up to you. Oh, the obstacles, I really like the ideas you've come up with! I also think there should be those classic snake pits too though! XD | 2008-08-24 07:27:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

How did I forget the snake pit!? Those are must for a pyramid levels. The boss is going to be the curse of the pyramid. It'll be a bongo-bongo type character. Man that guys was tough... I'm thinking that he'll have the same type of attack style. | 2008-08-24 07:35:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

And yes snake pits are definitely a must! hmm curse of the pyramid... it's interesting I like it... have it be like dark and spirit like... so yeah Bongo-Bongo would be a good base form for it... very curse/ancient looking! attack style is pretty good for it too... | 2008-08-24 07:39:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

Well, probably... the archaelogist will be the only one who gets to know... he loots it while you face the boss. It'll be like bongo bongo except a little more rustic looking, and the stage will be surrounded by quicksand. | 2008-08-24 07:46:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

XD yeah I was thinking maybe deck him out in like old rustic kind of gold armor or something... or even have like a mummy type of vibe... like he's starting to unwrap so the cloth pieces are hanging off of him and stuff... I don't know... but yeah Bongo-Bongo is a good base for him. Oh, and the quicksand part sounds good... | 2008-08-24 07:49:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

Yeah, he could have two forms, one is his Bongo Bongo/golden armor form, and then as you knock off his armor, he becomes this floating mummy monster that attacks with his wrappings. Quicksand is one of the things I fear the most... D: | 2008-08-24 07:53:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

I'm wondering how that would work... quicksand, that is... how exactly am I supposed to build it? I'm not sure... I was kind of wondering this about a few things... on both of our levels... | 2008-08-24 08:03:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |
have a bunch of items that are falling through gaps... it should be a controlled fall... that way its not free fall so you have to climb out before you get too low and fall int the death-gas... | 2008-08-24 08:06:00 Author: 12454522412412 Posts: 779 |
I'm not sure... I was kind of wondering this about a few things... on both of our levels... I think I'll have to replace quicksand with burning field of doom. I think I may be able to use this to my advantage. You kill the boss by knocking him into the flames and burning off his wrappings. Yay for creativity! have a bunch of items that are falling through gaps... it should be a controlled fall... that way its not free fall so you have to climb out before you get too low and fall int the death-gas... That would give the thermometer a heart attack! | 2008-08-24 08:07:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

That would give the thermometer a heart attack! ok yeah burning field of doom... good idea much easier to make... and yes that can be used to your advantage I like the idea of burning the boss up... Like Einstein said "Imagination is more important than knowledge" I'll make it to where you have to burn up each of the bosses wrappings by using the fireballs he generates and throws at you. (how do you do this? that's for me to know and you to find out) | 2008-08-24 08:19:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

(how do you do this? that's for me to know and you to find out) Oh yes, that Einstein... he was oh so smart! =P Burn up his wrappings with his own fireballs?... hmmm makes sense haha idk... same concept maybe as a video I saw... where the explosive barrels were launched back at the guys hanging from the top with some type of repulsive machine thing that bounced them back...? | 2008-08-24 08:28:00 Author: DarkGod13 Posts: 302 |

The Pyramid at Giza will be next, so what will we do with that? I'm thinking an Indiana Jones/the Mummy sort of thing. I'm making levels based on the indiana jones movies so maybe we could collaborate. | 2008-08-24 09:58:00 Author: muttjones Posts: 843 |
