No matter what your reason is. (Edits: Added games that i knew of, but forgot since i lost the files.. ) That's all i can think of right now. Due to the fact that it is late here, i will post some descriptions of the games. And probably add some screenies aswell. If anyone else knows some amazing freeware games, be sure to mention them! I love freeware games. | 2009-03-10 20:54:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |

Several of those are from this thing called Game Maker Plus, Toribash is awesome. | 2009-03-15 10:44:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
Yeah Game Maker is used quite alot, but the better ones use Multimedia Fusion 2 It's a little more complicated, but it's worth all the effort | 2009-03-15 14:00:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
Game maker is much, much cheaper, though (only ?20 ($25) compared to MMF2s ?74.99 ($119)). You can get the lite version of Game Maker for free, but it's quite restricted, and you get the 'Created with game maker' ad when you load any games created with it. GM also has a better learning experience, I think, as it uses a simple scripting language, compared to MMF2's drag and drop. | 2009-03-22 03:32:00 Author: Entity Posts: 274 |

Knytt Stories.. I love that game. Thommy, you should try : "Don't look back", http://distractionware.com/blog/?p=672 And of course, "Seiklus", http://autofish.net/clysm/art/video_games/seiklus/ | 2009-03-22 22:38:00 Author: CarlsenJeppe Posts: 67 |
Nobody's mentioned La Mulana yet: http://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?id=lamulana | 2009-03-23 01:26:00 Author: Entity Posts: 274 |
Time to give some comments... Overall: Thanks alot! I managed to learn a few more AWESOME freeware games, and i love you all for it @LFF: Wow! Legend of Princess and Lyle in Cube Sector are 2 amazing games... I REALLY wish LoP was longer, since it was insanely awesome, and a bit too easy tbh.. (I did it with the hardest weapons first time i played. Had to continue ones) @CarslenJeppe: I've played Don't look back, and i thought it was really fun. Had some hard parts in it, and the end (where you can't look back) was really original. And i will check out Seiklus soon. @Entity: I've seen Let's Plays of La Mulana on Youtube.. By DeceasedCrab. If you know what Let's Plays are, then you have got to know DC I haven't gotten myself to play La Mulana yet.. and i don't really know why o.O I think i can't get a hold on of what i would be supposed to do... | 2009-03-23 16:34:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
Yeah, I found out about La Mulana and Iji through DeceasedCrab's Let's Plays. | 2009-03-24 21:58:00 Author: Entity Posts: 274 |
Haha me2, i found out most of these trough Let's Plays actually.. and then once you find a good game like (A Game WIth A Kitty 2) then you search for other games by the same creator, and u find even more awesome games! Yay! | 2009-03-25 16:57:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
Added Bonesaw to the list I just remembered it and knew how great it was. Definately check that one out | 2009-03-30 15:49:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
Alright, i added the tittle: Spelunky It's a mix between La-Mulana and Nethack as the creator names it. It's a exploration, rogue-like Every level is randomly generated, and there's loads of nifty little secrets to obtain... and also it's insanely hard and extremely unforgiving. You HAVE to check this one out No excuses | 2009-04-10 19:03:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
Alright, since i got no responses from Spelunky, i decided to post some detailed info about it. You HAVE to play it! DO IT! Screenshots: http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/7463/spelunky1.jpg http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/8343/spelunky2.jpg http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/9576/spelunky3.jpg http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/5484/spelunky4.jpg Alright, screenshot 1 was the intro screen. It's actually a interactive menu. Meaning you have to walk into the Start door instead of clicking start. Screenshot 2: Yeah, dark levels. Sometimes a random event happens. Whether it be some big alien investing the caves, or dark levels like this screenshot shows, every once in a while this hard games gets a little harder Screenshot 3: This is a screenshot when you complete a level. Obviously you see all your information like time taken and loot. The little princess-like thing you see is when you save a damsel in distress They are sometimes hidden in a level and if you take them to the exit you get 1 HP back. Screenshot 4: Heh, my stats so far. Tbh it's pretty good :O I'm really happy with beating it 2 times and failing 550 times. Trust me, go try it yourself (P.S, my first win was at around 300 deaths. Then i tried to do speedruns to get a gold trophy, and failed.) About Spelunky Spelunky is a action/platformer. One of the biggest advantages is that every level is randomly generated. So level 1 is never the same level 1 Also, this game has quite alot of nifty little details. For example, there are shops! That means, you can buy items to help you on your journey. But, you can steal them too! That's right, you can steal items. You can pick one up and run out of the shop. The shopkeeper is one of the strongest enemies though, so chances are you're going to get killed ;D Well, that's it for the information i guess. Play this game and let it speak for itself. | 2009-04-14 17:10:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
Cave Story Screenshots http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/5927/cavestory1.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/2083/cavestory2.jpg About Cavestory Cavestory is probably the best known freeware game up to date. It is an amazing Platformer/Shooter with a simple weapon upgrading system and really good graphics. I won't go into the story, you will have to play the game to learn the story. It's a good one, so you won't mind The game has quite alot of secrets too. Sometimes you can trade your weapon for a better one, and your actions might have consequences for the future. Getting the "ideal" end won't be easy to do. You'll have to plan your actions, and also beaten the game atleast once in order to know what to do I'm sorry that i'm so fuzzy and that i can't explain at all, but you really have to try it for yourself | 2009-04-14 17:27:00 Author: ThommyTheThird Posts: 440 |
play An Untitled Story if you haven't already it's an explorationy rpg game by the guy who made jumper | 2009-04-14 21:27:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
ALL RIGHT ALL RIGHT I'M DOWNLOADING SPELUNKY. Sheesh, stop shouting, seriously. 'Sucks. Simply stop, sir. EDIT: Yeah Game Maker is used quite alot, but the better ones use Multimedia Fusion 2 It's a little more complicated, but it's worth all the effort 2/3 of the bolded ones are in Game Maker xD I used to use it quite a bit. I just looked back at some of my older stuff, the best I could find was this: Clicky to DL (http://www.box.net/shared/n567sx6s0e) It's actually surprisingly good, methinks! There are actually achievements in it, you see them when you unlock them, but I hadn't ever put in a display to see which you've unlocked. I also found an awesome project with 20 levels which was a platformer in which each level was made of three levels, two of which you could control the solidness of, so you had to change the level as you played through. I may start using this again now | 2009-04-15 12:41:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
