because i lost over half a level i've been working on. (plus it was probably be my best one so far.)

First thing I'd do is delete all your photos and the community photos, then delete all the community items. If it still won't save, you'll need to delete all the my objects objects. If it still won't save you'll need to delete any saved costumes you have (not the individual items just the saved ones on the last page of the costume menu.) If it still won't save you may need to start deleting levels from your moon if you have a lot on there. All those items count towards your profile and when it gets too big the game won't save. I'll try to find another thread that explains it better and post it here in an edit. EDIT: Not sure if you want to do this to help out MM but there's a thread on how to report these problems to Media Molecule under the name "Problems with your LittleBigPlanet save? Here's how you can help!" This isn't exactly what I was looking for but this thread explains profiles a little better than I can. Search under " Need some clarification/hope (Save file to big)" Bottom line - when you get the failed to save error - before quitting the game clean out all the photos, community items, my items, or other levels you don't need anymore. Then try to save again. I've been able to save a few of my levels from being lost this way. I did loose an entire level to corruption though so I understand your frustration. Good Luck!

To be sure not to lost anything with this very irritating bug, think about publishing your level in progress locked on the LBP server each time you stop a creation session. It could be very, very usefull (for the non save bug, but also if your save data are corrupted).

If all your photos, community items, my items, and community photos, and costumes are deleted, the only other thing I can think of would be your levels on My Moon. Do you have a lot of them or are there about 6 to 8 of them with really high thermometer?

you get 6-8 with high thermo? I have two levels with max thermo, and 8-10 others with low thermo and I get nagged despite only having a few things in my popit. anyways yeah, inevitably you'll have to entrust your data to your moon, because theres no way you can hold 20 full thermo levels in your profile. I also recommend backing up your save data to USB stick periodically.

I have nothing for costumes, photos or object and I'm able to have 6 full thermo levels on there now and I'm working on a 7th that's close - I'm walking a tightrope for profile right now.

Wait - everything you deleted was back when you restarted? Sounds like it didn't save your profile down after the deletion. Hm.... when you shut down the game you wait for the little running sackboy/spinning globe icon to disappear from the lower left of the pod right? If not delete the stuff you don't want again, go back to the pod, then when the icons are gone quit the game. Just to be safe I'd restart you ps3 too before you restart the game. Let me know if that works - if it doesn't I'm not sure what to tell you. Any help from other users out there?

My advice is I'd suggest trying Morgana's suggestion once more. Backup everything to your moon, wipe everything.... then wait for the save icon to finish. Exit LBP and restart. Make sure your profile is empty, then download all your backup from your moon.

i did but everything still came back. i deleted my stickers, costumes, level, and objects and i made sure the icon disappeared. but it all came back! i don't wanna be stuck like this! i wanna complete the story (again). lbp must hate my data. first it corrupts and now i stuck with a profile that won't save anymore.

That's really, really weird. The only other solution would be to completely erase your LBP data, that would be the final solution to this, but before doing this I would strongly suggest getting in contact with MM, they are very nice and have helped a few people from this community get their levels back, maybe they can help you with your problem.
