At this point it's pretty obvious. Because they haven't launched the BETA yet, and you know how the whole BETA process is with how they have to do testing post-BETA, it's likely Dreams will not be releasing in 2018, contrary to what they told us. I think right now, we should take their release dates with a grain of salt. Dreams is one of those projects that takes years to finish. The game will come out eventually, but not any time soon.

I can't wait to see the game finished one day, but I'm trying to be patient too. Dreams is really huge. In comparison LBP is small. I watched a few streams, not all, but enough to know what scale Dreams will have. The toolkit is huge. You can edit audio files to make them compatible for music, but also for soundeffects. You can even do stuff like a equalizer on the audio files. The imported/recorded audio files seem to have the full quality, so voice acts that are done with expensive usb microphones will sound professional. And instruments can also be recorded that way. And if you don't have that setup, you can choose from a ton of assets. What you see in LBP3 with all the DLCs for example in the instruments section is a joke in comparison to Dreams' collection. They even want to expand it. There are hundreds of features in Dreams, and I guess that MM is still working on a few features and polishing it for the BETA. I think a BETA in December sounds likely.

I'm indifferent if it releases before next E3. I'd be worried/confused if there isn't a release date by next years E3.

A lot of work is going into Dreams. There's probably a lot of work when it comes to creating all the assets, fixing the features and assuring they work as intended. Then there is the VR stuff. It has to work properly at release, unless Sony and MM want to receive negative reviews from people who are very frustrated. A lot of time is going into Dreams. But it's worth the wait. I think a BETA could come out in December, and if not, springtime will be very likely. The full game might come out in autumn 2019. That's the latest date I could imagine.

I can't wait for Dreams, but I like the time frame I have because of the wait for my projects.

@mdkd99 I'm excited too! And woah, being able to edit full on sound-files does sound pretty enticing. Dreams is one of those games that might take a few years to finish, haha. @koltonaugust I think that if there's no release date next E3, then we can be sure that they still have a LOT more they're adding to the game. Perhaps they are working with new technology they are not familiar with? @CuriousSack Get them all done while you can! Dreams will be here before you know it, haha!

I'd be VERY surprised if we get it early 2019 with no release date yet. My guess is for late 2019
