Hey, I played this earlier. It plays well enough and I do like how the character moves through the environment. Seemed somewhat Sonic-esque.
But I gave up because the levels checkpoints are too few and far between. I only made it to the second checkpoint (Excluding the start.) and ended up playing the same first two sections 3 or 4 times each. There should easily be twice as many checkpoints.

Really liked the momentum-based roll areas. I did think it would be nice to brake slightly by pulling the stick in the opposite direction as I was moving, but I'm not sure that's actually necessary.

Hey the break thing sounds like a good idea to me! Will take notes. And there are 5 checkpoints, I don't really like to make my levels too easy but I should keep in mind it's going to be difficult for new players

See, normally I would totally agree with points about levels being too easy - but there are rules to understand about actual game design difficulty, and frustrating bad design. I didn't stop playing because individual obstacles were too hard - I stopped playing because I was re-doing the same obstacle to get to the one that just killed me.

There are these vertical sawblades, that I think come just after the second checkpoint - those blades aren't difficult, but they become frustratingly slow when you've done them 2 or 3 times before with no issues. Ideally each obstacle should have its' own corresponding checkpoint, and the obstacles themselves can be difficult enough to warrant an entire checkpoint to themselves.

That's just a punishment for dying, I don't think it's bad game design, the level itself isn't very long so placing a checkpoint after each difficult challenge seems like a bit much. I say try and complete the level fully, remember it's about controlling your speed, so in platforming sections try slowing down.

Hey there, I played the level yesterday and I liked it. The movement is fun and the "Sonic" feeling is well done. Managed to finish it, but I agree that there are not enough checkpoints, I also noted some lag (on PS4 not pro) and the final boss paterns were a bit overwhemling

Still, a fun and well made level
