Two Layers (Platformer)
Archive: 5 posts
This was an unfinished level that I finally completed, not my best work but it was fun just to create something after a long break. The level is built entirely on two layers that you can switch using the right stick, it's a platformer with some simple puzzles in it. If anyone would like to check it out here's the level link: https://lbp.me/v/q3evhe9/trailer?p=1&l=12 http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/12fff9edaa863eebc81fdd5047e9a26fda8640f3.jpg http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/5ca7b27140fc9764486f1b23306e552102f557b5.jpg | 2018-07-24 00:43:00 Author: Xev Posts: 8 |
Hi Xev, I'm looking forward to play your level, even if it would not be your best! Only two layers...riddles...thats exactly what I want! Good luck for your level and many greetings, Jürgen^^ | 2018-07-24 09:52:00 Author: CuriousSack Posts: 3981 |
Hi Xev, now I've played your level and I totally enjoyed it! Your level has a rather interesting gameplay, moving on only two layers is sounding simple, but you've created a really demanding puzzle platformer based on this gameplay. The only thing to improve could have been the visual design. No idea how much thermo has been left in your level and if more decoration would have slowed down the flow of your gameplay. Nevertheless I can only recommend to the community...give this level a try, you won't regret it! Have a fine weekend and many greetings, Jürgen^^ | 2018-07-27 10:11:00 Author: CuriousSack Posts: 3981 |
First of all thanks for taking the time to play my level and for your kind words, I'm glad you liked my level. The visual design is the part where I used the least amount of time and the reason I think this isn't my best work, mainly for two reasons 1. I did I have some problem with the thermo (I had to use two linked level to build the whole thing) which I didn't handle very well: when I made the layer switching mechanism it was just a prototype to see if the idea would work, when I came back to make the full level a year later I used without thinking that first prototype not very thermo-friendly, If I ever make a second part I'll use a more efficient method. 2. unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to create so I had to comprise and a focus a little more on gameplay that's why I didn't rework the layer swithcing mechanism and didn't spend more time decorating, this for me was more a small project I had fun making so I'm happy people can still enjoy it Thanks again I wish you too a fine weekend | 2018-07-28 00:48:00 Author: Xev Posts: 8 |
