LBP3: https://lbp.me/v/q2gm3cw/topreviews?p=1&l=12 This is my first LPB level in over two years! 8D I actually started working on this over a year ago, just dabbling with hover board double jump logic and some scenery pieces. After a couple of intense weeks this month I've just published the finished version. Te Waonui O Tane" is Maori for "the great forest of Tane." Tane is the atua (god) of the forest in Maori mythology. Maori are the indigenous population of Aotearoa (New Zealand). Use Latin vowel sounds when pronouncing Te Waonui O Tane (although te reo Maori is not a Latin language). It's something like "teh wah-aw-noo-ee aw tah-neh." I wanted to make a gorgeous level using New Zealand scenery and be able to reference a small part of Maori culture so players from around the world could learn something in this game. In my local area (Taupo) we have geothermal powerstations all over the landscape. You don't have to drive far to see wide silver pipes snaking over the land or fumeroles (steam gushing up out of slits in the land) or smell sulphur. I also wanted to include that in this level (including the smell was really hard). I've tried to reproduce some of our native plant life and symbolism in the level, all stylised of course for LBP. I really wanted to use Swoop to be a kiwi (bird) but there aren't decent beak costume pieces for that (kiwi have a very long thin beak with nostrils on the end which they use to sniff out insects worms and grubs in the forest floor. They're more like a mammal than a bird). As you play, you can find secrets which will unlock tidbits about New Zealand for you. Hopefully you can learn a bit about our culture and plant biology. I haven't used a memoriser here so every playthrough your collected secrets start from scratch. Oooh...it sounds nice, but...quick couple of questions? i guess the biggest is, could we get an LBP.me link? i tried going to your profile page (from here), and i just got a 404. Second, is it an LBP level? 2? 3? i guess i'd know that from the level link, but i may as well as up front. Not that i might have ulterior motives or anything, nope. Just wanted to let you know, we took a look at this one in this week's R15F. i loved the level, despite the issues with loading (which aren't really something you can do too much about as a creator). The look of it was great, the gameplay (when it wasn't laggy) was fun, and i really liked how you handled the secrets and used them to teach about NZ. Very well done, Aratiatia! Also, i tried, but i feel like i probably screwed up the pronunciation of the level name, so sorry about that in advance.
