And maybe even scary ones... We want you to create a level that incorporates a change in a character's life or environment. Will 2018 suddenly be full of peaceful aliens, due to a new contract Earth signed with the Galactic Federation? Or will 2018 be a lovely new year for a dog that now has a family? Or will Bob move out of his town to an unknown abandoned city full of scary ghosts? Whatever it is, we want to see THE CHANGE! If it’s a bad change, how did your character(s) solve the problem? If it’s a good change, what we’re things like before it happened? Show us in a single, story driven level. You may include cinematics if you like, but we will be judging the interactive gameplay of your level. The winner will receive a rare LBPC Pin and Crown! RULES Create one original, previously unpublished level. No level links allowed. Levels must be playable. Cinematics are allowed, but we are judging the gameplay of each level. Levels must be single player compatible, not a Versus level. Publish your levels by 11:59pm GMT (https://time.is/GMT) February 12, 2018, and include the text “(LBPC15)” in the title of the level Post LBP.me links to your levels in this thread, so we’re sure not to miss them! You can only submit one entry. After the deadline, do not republish. Levels republished after the deadline will be disqualified. Good questions Yes, length and gameplay type are up to you, so long as it fits into one level. The story does not have to be related to the real world or present time. It could be set in the past, future, the change your character goes through could be time traveling or crossing dimensions into an alternate reality.

Maybe the change is the character hits his head and can't remember anything. Maybe he was really mean and then ends up nice. ..or was a very nice person who becomes and evil villain.

Could be a change of environment (like moving to a new town or school) or more of an internal change, like falling in love or tasting cheese for the first time.

In the description of the competition you can read that the entry should incorporate a... ...a change in a character's life or environment. ...or both of them.

Does this contest HAVE to be on LBP3 and only LBP3? Because, right now, the only LBP game I can use is LBP Vita. I do have LBP3, but my PlayStation 3 is at my brothers house, and he lives in a different state from where I?m at.

Yes, sorry but it does have to be LBP3. We wouldn’t really be able to fairly judge a Vita level next to other LBP3 levels. If your in the US, you should check out flat rate shipping options with the postal service. It would be important to pack the PS3 very carefully so it doesn’t get damaged, and you’d want to check on insurance options just in case, but you could probably ship it safely for under $20 - if that’s in your budget and having your console is worth it.

Well LBP3 is old and the buggy state of the game has resulted in many creators abandoning the game. It also has to do with the time of the year, some periods are busier than others for people. This contest will probably be the last one so why not extend the deadline? It might encourage more people to do quick entries - that may also be very good depending on the effort. I have an original idea lying on my moon that I first sketched down before LBP3 was even released. It may fit in the criteria but don't expect any story or fancy visuals. It's just pure gameplay you haven't seen before stitched together into a level with a simple design. I'm not sure if I will get enough time to make the length acceptable. But if all goes well I might enter with that level. It will be my last level in LBP3, before quitting as a creator altogether until Dreams comes out. It's up you folks behind the contest to decide whether to extend the deadline or be open to simpler entries. In any case there is already two solid entries and one of them is definitely already a deserving winner.

I appreciated your comment, and it actually made me think back on why I didn't originally credit mpggsmpggs. I'm pretty sure Quick change (Platformer) gives away the quick change logic if you score 69,000 points or more which led me to believe mpggsmpggs wanted people to reuse that idea. Also I'm aware I could have easily changed the description. I've actually got three other levels that use the same mechanic and I have gone back and given mpggsmpggs credit for the power up and switching idea. More than just credit issue factored into my decision to rescind my entry and delete the level. Okay, I respect your decision, the credit thing was no big deal but but your actions are understandable. CuriousSack: You got the names wrong! I have no plans on deleting my entry! I didn't spend hard work on it for nothing! MofoSuperVillain: Why delete your posts, you are just confusing the readers, It makes me look like I respond to nothing! So I quoted one of your old replies but I didn't have time to capture the other.

Here's my entry guys (By me and Precipite2) I know it's technically too late but I hope you could still have a look at it I think I've improved a lot over the last couple of moths! It has been a great experience so far. And this has honestly become my favorite community out there. I love all of you no matter what. It would mean a lot to us as we'd love to participate If we had failed to include a level in our list, but the level had been published on time, it would still be eligible. Sometimes the LBP search is not 100% reliable and that’s why we ask that everyone post level links. We certainly don’t wish to exclude you, it’s just that 3 days is a quite a bit of extra time which other creators did not have. We need to be somewhat strict about the rules in the interest of fairness to all the participants.

All of that hard work for nothing, I guess Hopefully you at least had an enjoyable creative experience. The deadline was clearly stated in the rules, and all the other participants stopped working on their levels by that time. I’m sure you can sympathize with the fact that allowing just one participant to work for an extra 3 days would not be right by the other creators. The bottom line is that the contest crew needs to act in the interest of a fair and balanced competition, without bias.
