First Thing You'll do in Dreams?

Archive: 10 posts

You get Dreams for Christmas next year (whether you're gifted or buy it yourself as most probably will do on these forums since a lot of people on these forums are now old), you start it up on your PS4.

What's the FIRST thing you'll do?

I think I'll go into dream shaping and make a train model so I can make a train game for my godson.
(According to PSX info, you can do whatever you want to do first. No forced story, community level, or create)

Hahaha, ok,

...a lot of people on these forums are now old...

you should be cautious if you don't want to have trouble with the littlebigR.E.D.(Retired Extremely Dangerous)-team!

my first "Dreams" project probably will be a sackboy adventure...force of habit!

Cool question, Koltonaugust! I think I'd play the story first to see what MM has created. After that I would mess around with all the tools and objects. Then I would start making my own assets for my future projects.

It is going to be a great time! Maybe some of the legendary LBP1 creators will come back to play MM's new game.

As with the LBP titles, the first thing I'd do is play the Story mode. If it's the same approach as LBP, then you get creation items with it, and you get a better understanding of what the game can do first hand which could help with inspiration or ideas if you intend to create something.

After the Story, I'd probably play community creations since as much as I like creating stuff, I either lack the knowledge/experience I need to make what I'm thinking of or I just take so long I never finish it. I have ideas from 6+ years ago for LBP levels that I never managed to finish.

Seems to be a reasonable strategy! 2018-01-20 11:00:00

I hope there will be Ingame tutorials in Dreams so you can understand how to work with the tools.2018-01-22 16:59:00

I hope there will be Ingame tutorials in Dreams so you can understand how to work with the tools. It's very likely there will be. I just hope they're better than the tutorials MM put out for LBP1 and LBP2, because while they explain the basics, there were certain things they never covered such as how to produce a top down level. I've always felt that the tutorials in those games could've been a lot more fleshed out and useful than they were.2018-01-22 17:44:00

The first thing I'll do in Dreams is experiment with the 3D technology. Creating a 3D Sonic or Mario level has been something I've experimented with since LBP2. I would love the create a "Sonic Generations"-esque game on Dreams, but it simply depends on the level of tools that will be given once the full game comes out.2018-03-17 14:47:00
