Is LittleBigPlanet for the PSP worth my time?

Archive: 7 posts

A good school friend of mine is selling his old PSP for like ?30, with is an absolute bargain! I was thinking about doing it to play games like Daxter, or Mega Man Powered Up, but then I remembered LBP PSP! Is this game worth my time? It looks pretty fun, and I like the idea of having LBP on the go, ever since my Vita bit the dust

What do you guys think?

I'd rather have the Vita. ... but to be honest, never had a PSP. Reportedly LBP on one was fraught with problems and I believe the servers for it are now off.

Hopefully someone that knows something will correct me!!

I think jwwphotos hit the nail on the head. LBP PSP was not my cup of tea. It felt like a really toned down LBP1. I recommend vita as it felt like a small step up from LBP2, but with long rewind times.2017-11-15 04:37:00

LBP PSP was a neat game. It sure had a cool story mode, ok graphics and sounds and the create mode... well it was there. But overall this is a fun game.

LBP Vita would probably be the better game. It feels almost perfect. Great storymode, cool create mode with many tools, a minigame section and of course the community levels. If you have LBP Vita I'd pick that game, even buy it. But LBP PSP is also a fun game, just not as good as LBP Vita.

LittleBigPlanet vita had a much better create mode, though you might get some fun out of the story mode.

LittleBigPlanet PlayStation portable is one of my favourites for its story mode, and because of the amount time I wasted trying to figure how to change the layer of my block in create mode.

I personally like the music, but the story is a bit generic. The story levels are not the most interesting designs, but they are acceptable. There aren't really too many "fun" minigames with complex mechanics like there was in LBP1. Community is down, and create mode isn't too great. Imagine using a grid permanently and just squares or rounded squares, maybe a circle, and no precise rotation. That is LBP PSP create mode.

For what it was at the time, it was alright.
The create mode was frustrating to use and full of bugs, but creators with enough patience still managed to make some good community levels (all offline now, sadly). I wouldn't recommend trying that.
The play mode worked well, and I liked the music selection they had and what I can remember of the story levels. The biggest issue was no multiplayer, which I guess isn't an issue anymore

You could get your hands on some of the community levels that were saved before the servers went down here:
