Archive: 33 posts

Congrats and a warm welcome to our good friend and awesome member, CuriousSack!! :star:

His tireless devotion to this site and all the work he has done as being the Mod of the German Community Forum more than earned him the slot. To be honest.. which I generally am... lol ..I should have done this long ago.

Thanks for everything and good luck in the new adventures. Appreciate all the hard work to the site!!!

And also thanks to you, fireblitz95, old companion!
In my opinion my make-up artist (oh yes! In anticipation of all the interviews and invitations to TV-shows I had to engage my personal make-up artist! ) overdid a bit making my outfit fit to the color of my name, didn't she?

Hahaha, MineValubleOres,

either you wanted to say that I deserve an A on my back, like the grade of a school test, for extraordinary good accomplishments (and on the back so that all my followers can see it!)
or you wanted to say that someone should use some "punchy" arguments to control my cheekiness!
...I hope that noone wants to slap a poor old man!

Yeah, but you're like another 7 or 8 folks by yourself.

Unfortunately this forum is quite dead. Remember when there were a couple thousand people browsing the forum at the same time? I want a place for people to come together and discuss Dreams. As far as I know the guys over at Sackinima are old lbp fans but that place is quite dead too. Look at dreambubble, it's not got a lot of people either. I know there's a reddit discord as well. I think to get back to where LBP once was, MM would have to set something up themselves or have some of their trusted fans or community coordinators do it. We're getting closer to release day by day and maybe one day something will pop up that people will just migrate towards. Dreams simply deserve it. We don't need five small community sites, we need ONE. MAKE....DREAMS....GREAT..... (again?)2018-02-22 17:13:00

Hi BasketSnake,

you may be right that compared to the beginnings of the lbp forums nowadays the forums seem to be dead! But is this really surprising??
I've joined lbpc and most of the other forums in 2011. And now, nearly 7 years later, lbpc and some of the other forums still exist! And there are still some veterans and also some newbies that are interested in keeping the forums alive! Isn't this astonishing?? I don't know any other game community with forums that have lived so long! Some of my friends of earlier days have become adults and old ones like me have got less hair! But these people still have fun in playing - creating - sharing! And in organizing events like contests, writing reviews, recording tutorials, discussing with others and having a good time together! There are no masses of people in the forums anymore, the record here has been about 824 on one day, yeah, this must have been fantastic! Otherwise who can communicate with 824 people at the same time?

Dreams will become fantastic, and considering that Dreams will be released probably not before the end of the year its absolutely astonishing that forums like dreambubble.me, which was opened already a year ago, do exist at all! Same as dreamzzz.de, the first German Dreams forum. DreamsVerse.com, which is the forum of the people of littlebignetwork is already a vivid place. And all this though Dreams hasn't been published already!
I don't agree that we need "One Forum" only, I think that different forums can offer varying accents, so that people with dfferent wants can find their fitting "home" to feel comfortable.

I'm sure that Dreams will have a similar magic like LBP had in its beginnings and that we will have some new glory days for creative minds!
And I'm sure that I will love it, but I also love LBP and I think that I will have enough energy for both games!
We will see!

Have a fine weeekend and many greetings, Jürgen^^

Some folks move on. They were teenagers when playing LBP. Now they're grown up, like me. They have different problems and interests. So they move on. I personally stayed, because I really love LBP. I can make cool stuff without knowing code languages, modelling and other things. I can be creative. That's what I like about LBP and the upcoming Dreams.

We have to accept that people move on. Let's focus on now and the future. That's my approach.

A lot of us who were big into LBP during the glory days of LBP2 are engineers and graphic designers now. I personally know of a few. Plus, you reach a point (I personally came up against this at least like, 4 years ago) where you realize that if you spent time making the things you're making in LBP you can develop actual programming skills or modelling skills and get paid for it. We have to remember that LBP is almost 10 years old. Someone who joined the LBP community while being 10 years old might be 20 years old now! That's quite some time.

I'm just glad that so many people sticked around over the years.
