LBP Hand Drawn Artwork

Archive: 5 posts

I didn't really see a particular place to put this, I'm not even sure if anyone else has done it yet, but I figured this place was the closest section to what I was looking for.

The below pictures are my own hand drawn artwork which I drew free hand, then captured with the Playstation Eyetoy, stamped onto the white wood material and cut around my drawing to be used as buildings in my most recent level "Saving Private Ryan".

I found when you add a camera onto one of these pictures, to play to the strengths of the angle it was drawn at it only helps add presence to the overall effect as you can tell by the "in-game" shots. Each picture took about 2 hours to draw in pencil and then ink with a black fine tip art pen, the buildings were inspired by the actual buildings from the film Saving Private Ryan.

Lemmie know what you think and if you've seen this technique used before...

That's....really good. But most of us can't draw that well.

Digital Art FTW!

Those are amazing, but the in-game camera doesn't do them any justice, just makes them all blurry. But that is a great idea for environments! I don't know anyone who has done that.2009-03-09 03:21:00

The Playstation Eyetoy doesn't do these pictures much justice, but again playing with the camera angles abit will help. I can only hope Media Molecule will reconsider .jpeg support in the next chapter of LBP, which was more along the lines of my original idea when I first took an interest in this game... building a whole level with my artwork.

Oh, whoops, I meant to say Eye-Toy.
And a whole level with your artwork would be awesome, sweet, original, and amazing. You should try it now with the eye-toy, I'd want to play it!
