Emitters not emitting in the right layer-Solution

Archive: 3 posts

Hello I've recently found a work around to emitters not emitting in the right layer, I'm not sure how many people this is a problem for, but it has definitely been a problem for me, especially when it comes to spawning custom enemies that shoot or throw projectiles, for some reason when I emit just about anything like that, they shoot their projectiles in the wrong layer making it where the player cannot be hit.

Anyways a solution I found is below.

:Step 1:
Take a broadcast microchip and set it to emit into the projectiles by choosing emit into tags, and select the tag that the projectile uses and set the range to infinite.

:Step 2:
Place a follower on the circuit board and set it to follow the player. Adjust the movement speed to 0, and the in and out movement speed to 100, also set the range to whatever you think is best, I used a small field around the projectile like 10 or 15 or something I cant remember.

The follower doesn't hinder the projectile at all it just forces it into the right layer, also there are a few other ways of doing this. Another way to do it is to have the follower follow the badguy that's shooting the projectile, which would force their bullets or whatever to move into the layer that they are in, also i suppose you could just place the follower on the projectile itself, instead of using broadcast chips. The reason I use the broadcast chip is because i have so many enemies and projectiles, I'd have to go through all of them and fix them and recapture.

Anywho that's my temporary solution to the emitter problem I've been having, I hope someone finds it useful.
I'm, not sure if anybody else has figured this out or not, or perhaps found a better method. If anyone has any info on this glitch I'd be glad to know.

Anyways i hope this helps, and happy gaming LBP community =)

Awesome tip! I always worked in topdown perspective and never had problems with it, but your tip is a nice thing. I'll definetly use this one.2017-07-13 20:46:00
