[WIP] Survival Island - Classic LBP platformer

After a long absence on LBP, i decided to take a look on previous stuff i made, so after toying around i come with the idea of using all the stuff i made on a single level, and that's Survival Island.



What is Survival Island?

Is, on summary, a classic LBP platformer where you struggle for your life collecting resources to make a boat and escape from the island. The level features beautiful enviorments (thanks to the Foliage glitch and 3D-layer glitch) and variety of monsters and weapons.

This is a 1-Life level, which means that any mistake you made means the end of the level. So choose wisely what to do.



And that's all?

No:

1.- The island has numerous secrets and elements that can either help you on your task, or awake acient evils. The island is divided into 3 areas, and the way you explore the island and how you interact with it, determines your outcome at the end. You can see it as sepparate levels that shares a common theme. Each area has it's own puzzles, and some of them are connected with another area of the island.

2.- The level has a Day-Night cycle that allow you to look at the starry sky at night or enjoy watching the nature on the afternoon. But we aware: When the night falls, monsters will appear on random locations of the island, so is up to you to arm yourself and be prepared to face unknown dangers in the darkness.

3.- The tools you get on your adventure will allow you to collect resources that you can use either on the scenario (like making a bridge out of wood) or to make the boat, which consumes almost all the resources. You can also fight monsters with those tools.

4.- The island, as it is right now, features 2 mini-bosses, each of them belongs to a single theme of the island. To face them you must complete all the puzzles of a specific area of the island, and while their deaths won't trigger a ending, it will give you unique items and objects for your levels. The normal monsters (the ones you will fight the most) can be defeated by shooting any limb they have. NOTE: Some monster's death are way too gory (blood and guts). I will leave them as they are until i receive a reclaim about it.

This sounds really cool! I once tried to make something like this. I had the knowledge of the technology, but no ideas of the environment. So I hope you can make something really cool.

I proudly finished the Resource obtention and usage, along with some tweaks and updates for some weapons and tools (comes with HUD and a real-time clock!) .

Thing is that it made me realize that i haven't fully finished the main entrance, so i'm going to pulish it and add some scenario tutorials. Post updated BTW.

Well, i made some tweaks:

- Now the scenario is located near the top of the level so i can have more space for expanding the caves.
- Fixed an odd glitch with the cloud spawning that makes some clouds on top of another cloud.
- Expanded the Island Entrance and some connections with other areas are mostly done.
- The Construction Axe (item) now is more easy to use. You aim to a resource and press R1 multiple times like cutting a tree.

But the most important thing is that i have a good chunk of Area 2! You can check it on the Area 2 spoilers and tell me if it's OK. Also i updated the Island Entrance, you can check it on Island Entrance Spoilers.



NOTE: Perhaps i should enable "Safe rooms", where you can respawn if you die, because i noticed that some monsters attacks are impossible to avoid on certain ocasions (in any area). Dying because of that would be totally unfair, i should tweak the monsters too.
