This thread was inspired by what I did in the What do you do when game (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=38433-What-do-you-do-When-Game/page78).

Okay, this is quite a complicated thread, so I'll try to walk you through it! Just open the spoiler tag to learn everything.

Status board Everybody gets a "status board", which is the fancy term for stats. Everything you get will be displayed here.

Just take a look:

Status:
Alive

Stats:

-Strength: 5/10

-intelligence: 5/10

-Charisma: 5/10

-Sanity: 10/10

-Hunger: 0/10

HP: 10/10

Items:

NO ITEMS.

(we'll be looking at this later...)

Posts For each post, you must give a scenario (can be anything) and 2 - 6 options (can also be anything) these options can change stats in good or bad ways, just as long as it is fair. They can also require a stat to be at a number. Each stat change can only be given by an option/item/status. No cheating.

You find yourself lost in a woods.

1 Sit there for awhile.
[An option for those who do not meet any of the stat requirements.]

2: (Requires 6 (or more) charisma Ask for help.
[Requires a certain stat level]

3: (requires Intelligence 4 (or lower): Pick your nose (gives booger)
[Requires a certain stat (or lower) and gives you an item.]

4 Bash your head against a tree (-2 HP)
(Requires nothing, and lowers a stat.)

Stats Now we get to the complicated part. Here's everything you need to know:

Status:
Alive, Drunk (-1 intelligence, Lasts 3 posts)
(The poster has "Drunk" status, which lowers a stat for 3 posts. They start affect immediately, and when they're gone, everything edited is restored.)

Stats:
(Stats are a bit odd, as they only affect you when they're low/high, so they're mostly used for options.)
Note: MAX increases the MAX stat and not-MAX stat [5/10 becomes 6/11].)

-Strength: 5/10
(When at 0 - Gives status "Weak" [Poster takes double damage (Ie; -2 HP becomes -4 HP)]
(When at MAX - Gives status "strong" [Poster gains +3 MAX HP.]
-intelligence: 5/10

-Charisma: 5/10
(When at 0 - Gives status "Ugly" [-2 sanity])

-Sanity: 10/10
(When at 0 - Gives status "Insane" [-2 Strength -2 Charisma -1 Intelligence] )
(When at 1-5 Gives status "On edge" [-2 Strength -1 Charisma] )
(When at 6-8 Gives status "Nervous" [-1 Charisma] )

-Hunger: 0/10
(This one's a tad odd, as it works in reverse (0/10 = Good 10/10 = Bad) )
(When at 5-9 - Gives status "Hungry" [-1 Strength] )
(When at MAX - Gives status "Starving" [-1 HP Every 2 posts] )

HP: 10/10
(When at 0 - gives status "Dead" (Can no longer play this forum game until everybody else is dead.) )

Items:

Apple [When used: -1 Hunger]
(This is where all items will be stored. When a usable item is used, it is gone forever.)

Gold (5x) [Used as some form of currency]
(Some items are required during some options)

Trousers. [Equipped] [When equipped: Looks fancy +1 charisma]
(items can be used at any given time)

That's pretty much all you need to know!

Copy this to start:

Status:
Alive

Stats:

-Strength: 5/10

-intelligence: 5/10

-Charisma: 5/10

-Sanity: 10/10

-Hunger: 0/10

HP: 10/10

Items:

NO ITEMS.

This is where all future (and existing) items will be listed.

Apple [When used: -1 hunger]

Gold (Used as some form of currency)

Bread [When used: -2 Hunger]

This is where all future (and existing) statuses will be listed.

Hungry [-1 Strength]

Starving [-1 HP Every 2 posts]

Insane [-2 Strength -2 Charisma -1 Intelligence]

On edge [-2 Strength -1 Charisma]

Alright, a brand new adventure begins in this world! But what is going to happen to our heroes?

You find yourself on a crossroad.

1: Go north. There seems to be a town.

2: Go east. The path leads to a dark forest.

3: Go south. It looks like a long road to some distant place.
(+2 Hunger.)

4: Go west. An abandoned house seems to be standing there.

2: ) Listen to his ramblings. (-2 Sanity, get item "spoon")

3: ) Tell him to shut up. (-2 HP, +1 Sanity)

5. He is just a waste of time and health. And spoon is nothing special.

We arrive to the old, rotten house (We are all in a party but the poster chooses the options and the options affects the chooser if not written otherwise, I assume). It appears to be an old farm. Looks like some scavengers have already been here, for the door has been destroyed and everything with some value has been taken. However, there may be something anyways, but what are the odds? There are also some giant rats running around.

1: Search the house. (The higher Intelligence you have, the better possibilities to find something.)

2: Examine & explore the farm a bit. (+1 Intelligence & Sanity.)

3: Kill & catch some rats. (+1 Strength, -1 Sanity, +3 Dead Rats into your inventory.)

4: Leave. There are better things to do. (Go back to the crossroad.)

2. I need to train my brain a bit, even if I'm already perfectly sane.

- - - - - - - - - -

In my search of the farm, I find an ancient shoveling device and show it to the rest of our party. It seems to have gathered a thick, dirty crust, and you wonder if taking it will help your cause.

1: Take the device. (+1 Shoveling device (easier to find hidden items), -2 Strength)

2: Give the device to someone of your choice. (same effects to them)

3: Work hard to clean the dirt off the device, then take it. (+1 Shoveling device, +2 Hunger)

4: Leave it behind.

When night arrives, we come across a house for shelter. The house appears to be occupied by two elderly couple, they seem to be willing to keep us in their house for the night. While you were looking around, the other party members was talking to the elderly couple. During this time, you come across three interesting, and perhaps valuable items.

1: Steal a couple of imported tea bags. (Gain items "tea bag" (3x), -1 Sanity, +1 Hunger)

2: Steal an old dagger. (Gain item "Dagger", -1 Sanity, +1 Hunger)

3: Steal a couple of imported Chinese plates (Gain items "Chinese plate" (2x), -1 Sanity, +1 Hunger)

4 Don't steal anything, and rethink life.

(5 requires 50x gold) : Buy one chosen item. (-50x gold, get item "tea bag" or "Chinese plate" or "Dagger")

4. The couple are kind enough to keep us in their house. Why would I want to steal anything from them?

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

We spend the night in the house's guestroom (Everyone gets the "Rested" Status: +1 to Strength, Intelligence and Sanity). When we wake up, the couple are kind enough to give us some bread for breakfast. We eat some and left one bread in each other's inventory (Everyone gets one Bread which reduces Hunger by 2). We say our farewells to the old couple and continue our journey.

We are back in the same area where we were yesterday. The old rotten house still standing not far away from us and the farm is as ugly as it was yesterday. It would be a good idea to continue our journey.

1: Go north, where the town appears to be.

2: Go east, into the dark forest.

3: Go south, to the distant place.
(+2 Hunger.)

4: We may have missed something. Explore the farm again.

4, instead of advancing in our grand quest, I say we should stop for another rest.
__________________________________________________ ____________________

My decision was questionable at best, and an argument breaks out because of it. L1N3R1D3R tries to persuade us to turn back, so we can make another decision, but it was too late. We had already arrived at the farm. The argument continued to heat up, and a couple of hours was wasted, yet the argument continues.

- - - - - - - - - -

At the farm, we spot a myriad of animals roaming around the place. They seem like they could cure your hunger, but at the same time, you wonder if the farmer will get angry at you. He could give you some valuable advice if you listen to him for long enough, but the day is quickly passing.

1. Kill the animals yourself. (+3 Pieces of meat [When used, -3 Hunger], lose "Rested" status, -2 Sanity, +1 Hunger)

2. Get your friends to help. (Everyone: +1 Piece of meat [When used, -3 Hunger], -1 Strength, -1 Sanity)

3. Talk to the farmer. (+1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, +2 Hunger)

4. Keep walking.

3. We are not on any quests anyway. And advice is always helpful. Also, I do not wish to be a jerk.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

The old farmer has a lot to say. He has lived in these farms since he was a little boy. It hasn't always been like this, he shouts. Many months ago goblins attacked the farm, pillaged it and killed several peasants and set the crops on fire with their torches. Since then, the land has been dying. Almost everyone from these farms moved north into the town and only a few remain. No one knows why the goblins started to raid farms and why the ground is still being sick, but people say it has something to do with the dark sources of power which can be found in the nearby forest.

Then the old farmer points north and says "If ya are looking for a good place to eat 'n sleep, then head north. There are also some quests in the Adventurer's Guild for ya. I can see that you coul' use some money, but I'm afraid you won't fin' any money aroun' these parts."

Then the farmer moves away with his animals. There are not many hours in this day left and we need to think what we should do next.

1: Head north, into the mentioned town.
(+1 Sanity.)

2: Go into the dark forest.
(-1 Sanity.)

3: South, into the distant place.
(+2 Hunger to all party members.)

4: Have a discussion with other party members and let them decide or do something.
(+1 Charisma.)

4, A job couldn't hurt, but I don't think we should go where people are. It's dark enough already, so perhaps going into a forest is not a good idea. Oh, and we're not prepared to go on a long journey. Perhaps this is just because I'm indecisive, so maybe I should let someone else decide.

1. I feel like this is the most opportune place to travel at this point, and I'm fine with losing a bit of sanity.

- - - - - - - - - - -

When arriving at the town, we find a mystical magic shop. No, not the card game. We find it interesting, so we walk in and see an old mystic. She tells us that she will help us with the future at some cost.

1. Pay her bread for advice (+1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, -1 Bread)

2. Rummage the nearby alley for five coins, then pay her one (+1 Intelligence, -2 Sanity, -2 HP, +4 Gold Coins)

3. Just ask her for a map of the town (+1 Hunger, +1 Town Map)

4. Leave the creepy place

1. I'm hungry. And you need to get used to other people.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

The dining hall's staff were kind enough to give me a free meal. After I've eaten, we head back to the center of the town. It's getting late, so I suggest everyone to go into the nearby inn named "SouthSide". Even though Sir monacle resists a little bit, we step inside the inn.

With my charisma, I managed to deal us a room if we pay double price later, because we do not have any money at the moment. We can finally rest our weary bones on comfy beds. We step into the room and get comfortable around the table before going to bed. Looks like the table has some sort of deck on it which is used to play some common card games.

1: Talk about what we should do next. (+1 Sanity to everyone, +1 Charisma to you.)

2: Play some card games with other party members before going to bed. (+1 Intelligence to everyone.)

3: Do some arm wrestling with other party members. (+1 Strength to everyone.)

4: Go straight to bed. (+1 Sanity to everyone, everyone gets the "Rested" status.)

- - - - - - - - - -

We end up discussing where we should head to next, and how long we should stay here. Who knows what will happen if we stay, but if we leave, we must all pay with our blood. This town sure is strange.

1. Head west to the mysterious mountains (Everyone: +2 Hunger, -1 Sanity, +1 Strength, -2 HP)

2. Head southeast to the lake of wonders (Everyone: +3 Hunger, +1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, -2 HP)

3. Make Sir monacle face his fears and actually do something instead of fleeing from everything (same effects as either choice above, as well as -1 Sanity & +1 Intelligence to Sir monacle)

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________________

Before leaving, we come across "the guild of employment", located in the market of the town. Inside the building, there are only three jobs and two quests available to those who don't live here.

2: Queue in line for the "Newspaper" job. (status "Newspaper job" to all posters)

4. I agree that we should leave the town, so we should take one of the quests. This one seems more interesting.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

After we have accepted the quest, we head to the Lake of Wonders (Everyone: +3 Hunger, +1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, -2 HP). I believe we will find the fish from there. The journey is harsh, for we are travelling in the dark! Only the stars and the moon lighten our path.

When we arrive to the lake, we are tired (Everyone has the Tired status which lasts for 5 posts: -1 Strength, -1 Intelligence, -1 Charisma, -1 Sanity. When the post countdown is finished, everyone's mind blackouts and we skip to the next day, without the Tired and the Rested statuses. We also lose 3 HP when this happens.). I suggest that we set up a camp and get some sleep, but we are also kinda hungry.

1: Set up a campfire and go sleep next to it. (You: -1 Strength. Everyone: Lose the Tired status and gain the Rested status.)

2: Hunt for some fishes from the lake. (You: -1 Strength. +3 Raw Fish [When used: -1 Hunger.])

3: Go straight to sleep without campfire. (Everyone: Lose the Tired status and gain the Rested status. Monsters may attack us more likely during the night.)

1: Create a fishing rod from the stuff which you can find on the beach. (You:+1 Fishing rod, +2 Hunger.)

3. It's the most reliable option.

- - - - - - - - - -

5. They seem like very mundane jobs but this seems the most interesting.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mob of half-goblins are disturbing the peace with a protest because they are not allowed to vote in the election. 'our group' and 3 others are eventually hired to deal with them. The (half-)goblins are detested in the town, there are 6 of them and they look quite bored.
1. Negotiate with the goblins. (+1 intelligence)
2. Threaten the goblins.
3. Bribe (-3 coins)
3. Join the goblins. (-1 sanity, -1 intelligence, gain shiny rock)
4. Fight the goblins. (-4 hitpoints +1 charisma, gain shiny rock)
5. say hello.
6. Quit job.
1. It seems to be the most political opinion.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
The half-goblins are willing to stop the protest if they get a voting right in this and the future elections. However, humans of this town dislike goblins because "they are savage animals". The rest is up to the town's council. What shall we do?
1: [Requires Charisma 7 or higher.] Convince the council to accept each half-goblin's vote. (Everyone: +1 Sanity.)
2: Bribe the election to accept each half-goblin's vote. (You: -20 Gold.)
3: Tell the council that the half-goblins must be cast out from the town with force. (Everyone: -1 Sanity. You: -2 Sanity.)
4: Challenge one of the council's members to a duel. The winner decides the fate of the half-goblins in this town. (Your Strength and HP affects the outcome of this opinion.)
3, I don't want to disturb the fate of this election, and I'm not good enough to convince the council to let the goblins vote. Might as well do as I was paid to do, and that's set up this election!
__________________________________________________ ___________________________________________
We nearly finished the job, when yet another protest group arrives, but this time it's filled with townspeople. They seem to be boycotting one of the candidates. They're really loud as they sing, dance, shout and hand out flyers. We tried asking them to stop, but they said they will only stop if we do something for them.
1. Listen to the protesters in return for them to stop. (+3 Hunger, completes "Election times" quest)
2.Continue working. (-2 Sanity to all posters, completes "Election times" quest)
Should we stay and help the new government function well for possible future benefits, or should we leave with what we've got now?
On our way out of the town, somebody hands you a voting slip, as a reward for all our hard work. On the slip of paper, there appears to be two candidates, candidate #1, "Gene Walker" and candidate #2, "Stewart Heather". Clearly, we don't care about either of these people, but I guess the least thing we could do is vote.
1. I don't even know what's the deal with this decision so I pick the 1st one.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
We leave the town and head north, into the Great Plains. It's midday and we have walked for many miles/kilometers. We do not have a map or even any active quests, so we can relax a little bit in this journey.
We see a wagon which is pulled by two horses coming into our direction on the road. A middle-aged man is riding it and he stops right next to us. "Greetings, travelers!", he says with loud noise. "I am Bjorr, a traveling merchant! I can see that you guys could use some fine weapons, armors or goods in your journey. You will not survive this place without a fine sword or longbow, after all!"
We have enough gold to buy something, so why not? I bought the items which I wanted. Now it's your turn.
1: Buy some stuff from Bjorr, Traveling Merchant. (Choose which items you buy.)
[You can choose the same or another option(s) multiple times from below if you have enough required items:]
1: Buy a World Map (You: -1 Gold, +1 World Map [When used: Check the World Map].)
2: Buy a Health Potion. (You: -2 Gold, +1 Health Potion [When used: +2 HP].)
3: Buy a Dagger. (You: -3 Gold, +1 Dagger [When equipped: +1 Atck Power].)
4: Buy a Sword. (You: -5 Gold, +1 Sword [When equipped: +2 Atck Power].)
5: Buy a Wooden Shield. (You: -3 Gold, +1 Wooden Shield [When equipped: +1 Defense, Block].)
6: Buy an Iron Shield. (You: -5 Gold, +1 Iron Shield [When equipped: +2 Defense, Block].)
7: Buy a Longbow. (You: -5 Gold, +1 Longbow [When equipped: +2 Atck Power, Shoot].)
8: Buy Wooden Arrows. (You: -1 Gold, +5 Wooden Arrow (Required to use Bows).)
9: Buy a Leather Armor. (You: -3 Gold, +1 Leather Armor [When equipped: +1 Defense].)
10: Buy a Chain Mail. (You: -5 Gold, +1 Chain Mail [When equipped: +2 Defense].)
The higher Atck Power you have, the more damage you deal than normally. For example, you would normally deal 1 damage to an enemy with your bare hands. But with Sword equipped, you will deal 3 damage to that enemy instead.
The higher Defense you have, the less damage you take from sources (You still take at least 1 damage from all sources, you will not be invincible if not said otherwise!). For example, if you have a Leather Armor [When equipped: +1 Defense] equipped, you have 1 defense against physical attacks. And if a source hits you and would make you lose 2 HP, you'll lose 1 HP instead.
And if you have Chain Mail [When equipped: +2 Defense] equipped instead and you would lose 2 HP, you'll still lose 1 HP instead.
If there would come a moment when you would completely defend yourself from an attack, you should be able to do that only with a Shield's Block ability, but we'll come back for that later.
All posters are able to buy anything from this post. Only the money which you've earned before this post can be used to this. So if the next posters create a whole new scenarios, you can still buy stuff from this post and then interact with those scenarios with these items in your inventory. Note: You can only buy from this post once.
2: Do not buy anything and continue your journey. (You: -1 Sanity.)
as it turns out, there isn't magic around us. It's radiation. We must've walked into a deadly radioactive swamp! Pretty easy to do when you don't have a map... There appears to be a forest nearby, although it seems to be dark.
1. Continue walking and soak in the deadly radiation. (-4 HP, -2 Sanity to all posters)
2. Turn back. (+2 Hunger, -1 Sanity to all posters)
3. Walk into the dark forest. (-2 Sanity to all posters)
3. Even though the forest is dark, I have a weapon, so there is nothing to fear.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
We walk into the dark forest which we saw from the crossroad, even though we are nowhere close to the crossroad and the farms according to the world map. The sunlight barely hits the forest's ground and there are pitch black shadows almost everywhere. Yet, we can see where we are going. This place isn't a cave, after all.
There are some trails of a monster. Broken branches and paw prints can be seen on the ground, leading west. Also, there seem to be some light coming not far away from our position. Probably from a campfire.
1: Head north towards the light.
2: Go west and follow the paw prints. (Everyone: -1 Sanity, +1 Strength.)
3: Head south, deeper into the forest. (Everyone: +1 Hunger.)
4: Have a discussion with other party members first. (Everyone: +2 Sanity.)
(That system makes sense, especially for attack scenes, and it doesn't break the "New scenario per post" rule. Although I still I have no idea what to do with attack yet.... What? it's 5:50 in the morning! You try doing something at that time!)
Night falls upon us, and we slept for a long time. However, our peaceful slumber was awoken by screams of terror. The sun has not yet risen, despite the some-what humid climate. As we were looking around in every direction, eagerly looking for danger, the screams became louder, and louder. Moments after, we could begin to hear the thumping of footsteps as if a group of people ran across the forest. Then, everything stops. It was if everything was over. Hoping to get a few more minutes of rest, we lay our head onto the ground. Our eyes begin to get heavier, too hard to keep open. We closed our eyes, and began to dream. Our rest is once again broken by the little pitter-patter of feat running across the forest. They got faster and faster and louder and louder until we hear a sudden THUMP! We quickly awake to see women pinned by a nearby tree by a man wrapped in duct tape and leather. The sun begins to rise as these two people struggle to stay in one place. The man begins to shriek as he bashes the women against the tree. Now is our time to act.
2. Duct tape and leather?! The women must be in some kind of cult and the man must be a dangerous... escapee?? dealing with either type sounds like trouble to me.
Oh no, two crazy people, let's judge the whole forest because of it. Screw logic. And option 5 gives two. Two what?
I chose option 1. I have a map so let's get outta here before Sir monacle and jimydog00 start to screw things up. Also, you should have 8 sanity and 2 hunger now, jimydog00. You got 1 sanity and hunger from my last post and lost 1 sanity from Sir monacle's post.
I would like it if you guys (everyone) would take this forum game more seriously. If you start to spam or put up some extremely random stuff which has nothing to do with the theme of this game, your posts will be ignored and we continue from the last sane post.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Alright, according to the map, we have wandered to the edge of the forest (I ate all my berries when we got here). We are right next to the mountains of Stonekirk. We could climb the mountains or use the caverns below the mountains. So which way we are going? Up or down?
1: Climb the mountains of Stonekirk. (Everyone: +1 Hunger. -1 Strength.)
2: Enter the caves of Stonekirk. (Everyone: +1 Hunger, -1 Intelligence.)
3: Let another party member decide. (You: -1 Sanity.)
4: Have a brief respite. (Everyone: +1 Sanity, +1 Hunger.)
4, I need a brief respite.
(Oh and I believe my post said something like this:
Posts: For each post, you must give a scenario (can be anything) and 2 - 6 options (can also be anything) these options can change stats in good or bad ways, just as long as it is fair. They can also require a stat to be at a number. Each stat change can only be given by an option/item/status. No cheating.
If people want to make a scenario about a crazy river and song lyrics that give you +2... +2 somethin' then that's fine. Just as long as they keep up with the numbers. I personally prefer to encourage creativity and hippy dippy donkey spit as long as they keep up with the rules. Nobody wants to play a forum game where you have to limit everything just to make somebody happy. Keep it tight, and try give a mix of both.)
Right, and everyone has the Rested (+1 Strength, +1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, lasts 5 posts) status right now. Try not to mess things up.
I choose option 2. It is time to get down and dirty. (Everyone: +1 Hunger, -1 Intelligence.)
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
When we enter the cave, we see skeletons of other adventurers like ourselves. They have nothing valuable to us except their unused torches. We take them and I use one of them to light our way. (Everyone: +1 Torch [When used: Turns into "Lit Torch" for 20 posts, then it's useless.])
We walk deeper into the caves. Bats are flying around and there are lots of skeletons around. It seems like these tunnels were once a part of some ancient kingdom, but now they are full of death and darkness.
After an hour of walking, there are three tunnels before us. Light is coming from the first tunnel. The second tunnel has spiderwebs all around it and the third tunnel seems to lead deeper underground. Which tunnel do we take?
1: Go into the first tunnel. (Everyone: +1 Sanity.)
2: Go into the second tunnel. (Everyone: -1 Sanity, +1 Strength.)
3: Go into the third tunnel. (Everyone: -1 Sanity, +1 Hunger.)
You find yourself in a cavern with a great bonfire in the middle of it. Dozens of green goblins are dancing around it. They haven't noticed you yet.
1: Attack the Goblins and pillage their bodies! (You: -5 HP, +15 Gold.)
2: Go dance with the goblins. (You: -2 Intelligence, +2 Strength.)
3: Silently walk away. (You: +1 Sanity.)
This tunnel leads to a dead end, but there is a chest before us. When you approach the chest, a giant spider attacks you from above!
1: [Requires Atck Power 1 or greater.] Kill the spider quickly and loot the chest. (You: -3 HP, +2 Health Potion [When used: +2 HP], +1 Ruby (It seems to possess some strange power.), +50 Gold.)
2: [Requires a Shield.] Block the spider's attack and run away from the tunnel. (You: -X HP, where X is 3 minus your shield's protection.)
3: Run away. (You: -5 HP.)
This tunnel has the longest spiral staircase which you have ever seen in your life. It leads down into the abyss. You can't even see the bottom, for the tunnel is extremely dark. As we entered this tunnel, you stepped on a stone button which closed the path behind us with a stone wall. There is no turning back anymore.
1. Let's be on our way. But we have higher chances to find some food when we are on the mountain. Nothing good lurks within the caves. (+1 Hunger, -1 Strength to all posters)
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
We have walked for a few hours on the rocky and cold mountain paths and wooden rope bridges. Every time when someone looks below, he get dizzy. We are on great heights now. At first it was sunny but now dark clouds have conquered the blue sky and we can see as lightning strikes in the horizon.
We have a little break next to a great dead tree which has grown on the rocky ground. Seems like six mushrooms are growing on it as well. According to the map, we would be able to find some food shops in the dwarven town which is right next to these mountains, but it's still far away.
1: Eat the mushrooms right here and now. (You: -6 Hunger, gain the "Queasy" status [-1 Strength, -1 Charisma, lasts for 3 posts].)
2: Take the mushrooms, create a campfire and cook them. (You: -1 Strength, +1 Hunger, +6 Cooked Mushroom [When used: -2 Hunger].)
We spend an hour taking another break from our journey. The storm which we saw in the distance is now coming closer. Each time a lightning flashes in the horizon, it's thunderous noise echoes in the mountains more quickly. It's already a cold and a hard journey. If the storm gets onto our location, then the journey will become even more dangerous. We need to think quickly what we should do next before lightnings will be thrown upon us.
Okay, I'm literally at 10 Hunger before the decision, I can't go any higher. So...am I dead because some people wanted to rush the journey without getting the proper equipment first?
Whatever, can I eat those mushrooms so I don't die before I make my decision? (-4 Hunger, Queasy status)
I'm still really hungry, and Sir monacle and I are sick, so I suggest either going to the restaurant, the doctor, or the hotel to keep us alive and well. Where shall we go? (You would have had to spend your gold at some point, why not keep a fellow adventurer alive?)
2, If I've learnt anything from this, it is that caves are filled with nothing but misery.
4. We need to be on our way. The idea that a town appeared in these mountains seems odd, but it did help us.
Also, I bought 3 energy bars and wasted my last coins. And I discarded my lit torch which was meant for our journey in the caverns. Keeping it around makes me look like an Olympic athlete.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
When we step outside from the mountain's cave town, we see a moon in the sky. It's already midnight, but the bright star sky and wet and the sparkling rocks of the mountain makes our journey a lot easier, for we can see where we are going.
According to the world map, the dwarven town is just right around the corner. We can find an inn there and spend the night on comfortable beds. We can also find more quests and buy stuff which we may need.
On our way to the town, we see a giant, blue dragon sleeping on the edge of the mountain path.
1: Forget the dragon and go into the dwarven town. (You: +1 Sanity. Everyone: +1 Hunger.)
3. Why isn't there an option to destroy their little rinky **** town with the stubby end of my leg? What are they going to pay us in when we complete their quest?
Teensy bits of gold!? No thank you.
__________________________________________________ ___________________________________________
On our journey, we come across yet another Dwarven town, this time it appears to be in crumbles and ashes. As if it was burned down by something smaller than the dwarfs. Dwarven bodies lay dead every five mitres in the town. Each street is covered in blood and lifeless corpses.
2. Loot the crumbles of the Dawrven town. (+3 Hunger, +15 gold, -2 Sanity to all posters)
3. Spend the day counterproductively. (+4 Hunger, +2 Sanity, +1 Charisma, -1 Strength to all posters)
Oh no, two crazy people, let's judge the whole forest because of it. Screw logic. And option 5 gives two. Two what?
I chose option 1. I have a map so let's get outta here before Sir monacle and jimydog00 start to screw things up. Also, you should have 8 sanity and 2 hunger now, jimydog00. You got 1 sanity and hunger from my last post and lost 1 sanity from Sir monacle's post.
I would like it if you guys (everyone) would take this forum game more seriously. If you start to spam or put up some extremely random stuff which has nothing to do with the theme of this game, your posts will be ignored and we continue from the last sane post.
(That's understandable. This game is a big time commitment, and if you aren't willing to spend ~10-15 minutes on it to perfectly follow the rules and make an engaging story, then it's not worth playing for you.)
1. My defense stat helps me not lose as much HP (-2 instead of -4), and I can always use a potion. Plus, the gear is not remotely worth me using all my gold to buy it.
- - - - - - - - - -
(During the journey, I use one of my potions to return to my original HP.)
We look toward the peak of the mountains, and we see a strange hut built at the summit. It seems to be emanating with some odd magic, so we make sure to mark it for reference. (New quest: "What is that hut?") Meanwhile, there's a rushing river near the mountain ridge that could prove to be beneficial.
1. Strive toward the hut on the mountain peak (Everyone: +2 Hunger, -2 HP, complete quest "What is that hut?")
2. Descend to the river (You: +1 Hunger, +1 Water canteen [3 uses, +1 Charisma and +1 HP per use])
3. Reconsider getting more supplies from the previous towns(Everyone on your next post can choose what to buy at the cost of +1 Hunger
We haven't slept at all and it's almost morning. If we try to wander around with our current energy, we would be extremely tired again. I suggest that we find a place where we can sleep.
2: Go into the hut above us. Maybe there would be some beds to sleep on? (Everyone: +2 Hunger, -2 HP, complete quest "What is that hut?")
1. We need to save this land from madness!
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
It turns out that the evil being which has been tormenting this land is a dark demon named Dargos Sitoch, an enigma from another universe which was destroyed by him. (Everyone: +1 Quest: "Defeat Dargos Sitoch and save the land! (eventually)".)
https://cdna.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/000/394/776/large/vitaliy-smyk-dream-hunter.jpg?1420773810
The old man marks a spot in our world map where we must obtain the ultimate blade named "Si'un", which will banish this demon from this world for eternity. Si'un is being kept in the temple of the ancients, located in an island which is in the middle of the storm god's sea. We need to get onto that island somehow. And before we can ask anything else, the old wizard has vanished.
1: Start your journey and get to the nearest city which is right next to the storm god's sea. (Everyone: +2 Hunger.)
2: Check out if there is anything to take in the hut. (You: -1 Sanity, +1 Hunger.)
3: Inspect the map and think for a plan. (You: +1 Sanity, -1 Strength.)
The journey has been long, but we are not in the city yet! We are on the middle of the eastern road.
There are green, tall trees all around us and you can hear the singing of songbirds. There is still plenty of sunlight left today and you can see some strangers standing right before us, as if they've been expecting us.
You find a wooden chest which appears to be sealed by arcane magic.
1: Try to open the chest with force. (Requires: 5+ Strength.)
2: Try to open the lock with a tool/weapon you/friend of yours has.
3: Take the chest with you.
The chest explodes with the stuff it contains! Fire consumes your very existence! (You: -5 HP, unpreventable.)
0-2 Intelligence:The chest explodes with the stuff it contains! Fire consumes your very existence! (You: -5 HP, unpreventable.)
3-8 Intelligence:It's close, but you do not know how to open the chest completely. At least you avoided the magic trap.
9+ Intelligence:The lock opened and the chest opens for you. It contains a magic wand and a magic scroll! (You: +1 Engraved Wand [When equipped: +2 Intelligence, Allows you to cast spells.], +1 Magic Scroll "Fire Breath" [When used while equipping a magic wand: X Unpreventable damage to target enemy, where X is your total Intelligence. Can only be used once per 10 posts.])
As you pick up the chest from the floor (You: +1 Sealed Chest.), you see a tiny pixie which was sleeping beneath it. It wakes up and is quite frustrated that you "took away the roof". He demands that you give something to him for taking the chest.
1: Give something to the pixie from your inventory. (You: +1 Sanity, -1 Item of your choice.)
2: Do not give anything to the pixie.
The pixie is happy about this trade, snaps his fingers and pops away.
The pixie is quite angry and before it vanishes, it makes you pay for taking away the chest! (You: -1 Max HP.)
0-2 Charisma:The plan you suggested made everyone argue with each other! You are running in circles!
(Everyone: -1 Sanity, -1 Intelligence.)
3-6 Charisma:Your plan seems quite good. You have decided to travel to the city next to the storm god's sea with other people on the road, resting your tired bones at the back of their wagons. You reach the city at nightfall. (Everyone: +2 Hunger.)
7+ Charisma:Your persuasive speech gave us inspiration, and we travel to the city while carrying your inventory. We reach it at nightfall. (You: +1 Hunger, +2 Sanity, +2 HP, Everyone else: +2 Hunger, +1 Strength, +1 Sanity.)
3. I'm good with maps, I should be able to find a plan that avoids unnecessary travel.
Hooray! I knew being smart and happy would benefit our cause eventually!
- - - - - - - - - -
On the way to the city, I eat one of my Energy Bars so I am not Hungry.
When we arrive, the mayor runs up to us and tells us a rumor about a secret sword that would grant 5 attack power, making it much easier to beat Dargos Sitoch. He doesn't know where it is, but he recalls all the riddles that have been rumored about its location. The rumor sounds intriguing, but who knows if it's true?
1. Try to decipher it yourself0-3 Intelligence:
You completely misinterpret the clues, but you think you're so right that you lead all of us in a pub full of angry drunkards. (Everyone: -4 HP, -2 Sanity)
4-7 Intelligence:
You somewhat misinterpret the clues, but luckily you take one for the team in case something goes wrong...and it does, but not as badly. You end up in a very hazy tunnel. (You: +1 Intelligence, -1 Charisma, "Queasy" status)
8+ Intelligence:
You correctly interpret the clues and lead everyone to a mystical cave behind the city where we find the sword at the end. Give the sword to Sir monacle, he's defenseless right now. (Everyone: +1 Charisma; Sir monacle: +1 Ultra Sword [when equipped: +5 Attack]2. Ask other townspeople for more rumors about the sword0-5 Charisma:
They think you're harassing them, and they kick you out. (You: -2 HP, -1 Charisma)
6+ Charisma:
They willingly give you more clues, letting you reconsider. (You: +3 Intelligence; Everyone else: +1 Intelligence)3. Stay in the city for the night, but don't bother with the sword (Everyone: -1 Charisma, "Rested" status)
1. I'm fairly confident my mind is sharp enough to cut through the riddles.
And I was right! Sir monacle is able to defend himself now.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
I eat all my 3 energy bars when we are leaving the cave. We arrive back into the city, which is still quite active even though it's night already. The city's lamps light the streets and we can see as the people in their homes drink wine and read some books in front of their fireplaces. The city seems peaceful.
We wander into the city's inn, where we are welcomed by the old innkeeper. "Greetings, travelers!", he shouts. "Here to look for a room or for a warm meal? Whatever it is, I'm quite sure I can help you."
Choose two.
1: Buy some stuff from the innkeeper. (Choose which items you buy.)
2: (Requires: Gold Coin x2.) Spend the night at the inn and wait until morning. (Everyone: Gain the "Rested" status if you do not have the "Blessed" status.)
3: (Requires: Gold Coin x2.) Have a tasty meal. (Everyone: -6 Hunger.)
4: Chat with the old innkeeper.
[You can choose the same or another option(s) multiple times from below if you have enough required items.]
1: Buy a World Map (You: -1 Gold, +1 World Map [When used: Check the World Map].)
2: Buy a Health Potion. (You: -2 Gold, +1 Health Potion [When used: +2 HP].)
3: Buy an Apple. (You: -2 Gold, +1 Apple [When used: -2 Hunger].)
4: Buy a Traveler's Coupon. (You: -2 Gold, +1 Traveler's Coupon [When traded with an innkeeper: Rest in the inn for free].)
5: Buy a Shiny Pebble. (You: -1 Gold, +1 Shiny Pebble .)[I]You may talk about anything you want.
1: Any rumors?
"Many people have gone missing when they've traveled near the coast. Some say creatures from the shadows have captured them. It would be best to avoid the whole area."
2: Know anything about the Storm God's Sea?
"It's an ocean where many ships have witnessed their end in the icy storms. One who can predict weather may travel through it without trouble."
3: Know anything about Si'un?
"The ultimate blade? I've heard about it in the legends. Some ancient god forged it to defeat the dark dragon which had swallowed the sun and kept the world dark for 48 years... but I don't even know if it's true."
4: Know anything about Dargos Sitoch?
"Dargos... what? I've never even heard the name!"
5: What can you tell about this city?
"This city is just a peaceful place for humans, elves and other races around the world. Many people visit this place so they can dine in our famous restaurants where they can taste our unique fish and wine. However, if you do not have any money for those luxuries, you can earn some from the Adventurer's Guild by completing quests."
All posters are able to buy anything from this post. Only the money which you've earned before this post can be used to this. So if the next posters create a whole new scenarios, you can still buy stuff from this post and then interact with those scenarios with these items in your inventory. Note: You can only buy from this post once.
(Wait, why did Nemo's Charisma go from 9 to 11? Unless he caught my post in the middle of editing it, it's only +1 Charisma.)
Well, 2 is a waste of money currently, so I'm not doing that.
I will choose 1 and 4.
1. I don't need a world map if Nemo has one, so I'll buy 4 Health Potions, 5 Apples, and 1 Shiny Pebble. (-19 Gold)
4. (see below)
- - - - - - - - - -
I tell him in our discussion that I possess a Ruby with some strange powers, that Sir monacle possesses an Ultra Sword, and that Dargos Sitoch is the "dark dragon" he tells of. This convinces him of our determination toward saving the land, so he lets us sleep and eat at his inn whenever we want. (Everyone: +1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, -2 Hunger, +1 HP)
This town is now basically a checkpoint for anyone. (If you are in this town: -2 Hunger, +1 HP, "Rested" status if you are not "Blessed")
Sadly, we can't stay in this inn forever.
1. Go to the restaurantIt's quite pricy, but you're willing to try it. The innkeeper was right about the fish and wine being unique. It fills you a bit, but more than that it makes you feel strong! (If anyone has the money: -5 Gold, +2 Strength, -1 Hunger)2. Go to the Adventurer's GuildThe guild master assigns us a few easy items that we can bring to him to earn 10 gold each:
~ Five live worms (Everyone: New quest "Eww, five worms!")
~ A dead gopher (Everyone: New quest "Sorry, gopher, I have a sword!")
~ A shiny pebble (Everyone: New quest "Pebbles can shine?")3. Go to the meteorologist's (remember, we need to predict the weather to sail the Storm God's Sea)0-6 Charisma:
He tells us the seven-day forecast. Useful, but we can only sail for so long. (You: +1 Weather Forecast [allows you to predict the weather in any area, becomes useless after 7 turns])
7+ Charisma:
He trusts us enough to give us a Weather Device to see the weather at any time (You: +1 Weather Device [allows you to predict the weather in any area])4. Leave the city and move on (Everyone: +1 Hunger)
(My sanity went from 8 to 9, which freed me from "Nervous" status, which decreases my Charisma by 1.)
2. I'm poor and I need money!
I speak to the guild master and I have accepted all three quests!
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
We can complete the "Pebbles can shine?" quest immediately with L1N3R1D3R's shiny pebble, so we only have two other quests left which have been given by the guild master (Everyone: +10 Gold, New quest "Eww, five worms!", "Sorry, gopher, I have a sword!". L1N3R1D3R: -1 Shiny Pebble.). I lead us outside the town into the forest which is right next to it. We can't have too much money, so let's find the worms and kill a gopher.
There is a lagoon, a cave and a big fallen tree in the area where we are now. Where should we look at?
1: Search next to the lagoon.
2: Search the cave.
3: Search from under the fallen tree.
Someone or something has dug small tunnels right next to the lagoon.
1: Look into one of the tunnels.
2: Search another area.
A gopher looks at you from the tunnel! You kill it with a sword. (You: +1 Dead Gopher [It smells terrible!])
Your loud noises have awakened the bats which were sleeping inside the cave! They fly right towards you and make you hit the hard ground with your head. You lose consciousness! (You: -3 HP.)
5+ Intelligence:
You inspect the muddy floor of the cave and find the worms quite easily! (You: +5 Worms [They're slimy, but certain creatures loves them.])
A weird looking mushroom looks at you from under the fallen tree. There seems to be a pouch right next to it, probably full of coins or something like that.
1: Take the pouch.
2: Search another area.
You got the pouch, but the nasty mushroom defends its home and shoots spores at you, poisoning you immediately! When you open the leather pouch, a blue and a purple diamond falls onto your hand. (You: +1 Blue Diamond [It reflects beautiful blue shine], +1 Purple Diamond [It reflects beautiful purple shine], gain the "Poisoned" status. [Every post: -1 HP, lasts for 10 posts.])
2. We've had enough cave experience already, why not try another one?
Hooray! Worms get!
Well, we've fulfilled one quest. Should we try to get them both in one outing, or return early?
1. Search the lagoon or the fallen tree (Everyone: +1 Hunger; then refer to TenebrisNemo's previous post)
2. Return to the Adventurer's Guild (Everyone: +10 Gold, complete Quest "Eww, five worms!"; L1N3R1D3R: -5 Worms)
