I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this but I searched and can't find mention of this issue. This is occurring on the digital download for PS3. My 5 year old son is so frustrated because he can't finish the game. He lost all his progress once already and had to start over and now he is all the way to the end of the game again and he keeps getting caught in some kind of glitch. What happens, is after he beats the final boss in Even Bosses Wear Hats Sometimes and gets into the boat with Newton, a cutscene starts up and he gets teleported through the ground. If he pushes the retry in his popit then he gets stuck in some random cut-off checkpoint and can't continue the game! He REALLY doesn't want to restart the game all over again. He is such a big fan of little big planet but #3 has been so problematic for him that he has gotten super discouraged. There have been lots of tears!!! Poor kid is so young and I hate to see his favorite thing crumble and frustrate him so much. Please help! Is there any way to get through this glitch??

Hmm.... I had thought that Sumo had fixed all the story mode glitches/bugs by now, but apparently they are still a problem for you and many other players. Don't worry though, I'm sure there is a work around. Is he playing online with friends? Sometimes the game will lag with multiple players around. Have you made sure to install the latest update? Having the launch version of the game will give you numerous glitches.

Instead of pressing retry in the popit, have you tried pressing restart in the pause menu?

Looks like a loading bug. Happens sometimes, because of reasons... Pressing restart could really help.

I really appreciate your responses! Thank you!! We downloaded a lot of updates when we downloaded the game so I don't think that is it. He does play online with other people on occasion but this is happening while playing alone. I will have him try going to pause -> restart instead of popit -> retry and see if that fixes it. I also found another forum thread that mentioned maybe having someone join him and help him play through the level? Unfortunately, he doesn't have many friends online being only 5 years old - he plays with anyone that will let him lol

Is there a chunk of the level missing? I had to delete my level data to restore that, but if there isn't a chunk missing, or if the chunk that's missing isn't important, then don't worry. You're not suffering from what I had. Has he played any "Glitched object/costume" levels? Those can sometimes corrupt your save file for some reason. If so, make sure to always back-up your profile before playing those!

YAY!!! IT WORKED!!!!! Thank you SO much!!! Fox (my son) wants everyone to know he says THANKS!!!! He was able to do some combo of restart/return to pod before getting stuck in the glitch that finally cleared the loading issue and he was able to complete the game last night!!! Has he played any "Glitched object/costume" levels? Those can sometimes corrupt your save file for some reason. If so, make sure to always back-up your profile before playing those! How do you know if you have played any "glitched object/costume" levels?? I am sure he has... he had us search for prize levels and played a bunch of them on LBP2. He mostly plays horror survivor levels (which I am not crazy about) He has also captured object from other people ... some that I have made him delete because they are absolutely annoying!!! but I am sure some of those are glitchy. The game crashes a lot when he's playing with other people so I encourage him to play LBP 2 if he wants to play on the network. How do you back up your profile? Or I guess I can google that

It's about profile corruptions, loading problems and stuff. You should backup your son's data with a usb device like a stick or a harddrive.

You can use a USB stick if you want to be really protective, but there is an option for backing up your level data in the options (by pressing start in your pod) menu, which would then store the profile onto the console. If anything goes wrong, you can import your profile through the options menu (again by pressing star in your pod). If you want to be super protective, then you can use a USB stick to put the backed up profile onto your USB stick, but you may have to do it each time you back-up your profile, which might (and perhaps should) be often. Either way, I hope this helps!

Yes that works too. I personally backup my data on a usb stick everytime I close the game on PS4 without any problems. I want to keep all my data and all my progress. I take this really serious.

He's using the digital download edition for Playstayion 3, so he needs to back-up his profile first before he is able to put it onto a USB stick. I also think that's a but extreme, Mdk99, but each to their own.

I think its a difference whether you are more a player or more a creator! Some creators work several months on their levels and to avoid the loss of the results of many hours working on their creations its senseful to make backups rather regularly! In my opinion for a player its senseful to do a backup after having made good progress with the story levels or after having aced a difficult level. To be honest he's a really good player - I don't think anyone suspects that he is 5 years old. And he has published around 50 levels LOL He loves to create ... although his level building skills need some work they are very creative and he puts lots of thought into them. I find it impressive for a 5 year old ... know any other LBP 5 year olds that have completed all 3 games and built that many levels??? cuz if you do then he could play with them hah

Hi lisaqkitty, you're right! I've just played three of his levels and its been fun! I've chosen "The ancient pyramid", "The beast's belly" and "The shark attack"! But I will also try the other levels! In "The shark attack" however I missed the shark! Maybe he's been out for his piano lessons or he's been shopping...
