need pictures?

Archive: 9 posts

I shot a few for Snowspot and it was a fun way to look at a level - trying to find the right place to shoot the level.

I figure that if you want some pics taken of your level (taken with a camera, not tv screen capture), it will be a good way to have me get off my butt and get around to playing your level and giving you feedback too.

I will likely play your level and give you feedback anyway, so this isn't a ploy to try to get you to trade for feedback - Although I always like hearts

Anyway, if you want some, just send me a message with the usual info (your psn and name) and preferably an email address (which I won't keep, so don't worry, it isn't a spamming or phishing ploy)... If you are worried about the email thing, I can post them on my photo site, and give you the link (it is just another step)...

- looking forward to playing all your levels, regardless.

would it not be easier to take the photos yourself with the ingame camera tool, export to HDD, go to this site on the ps3 and go to albums, and place the picture there. Then, go to your computer and place the link from your albums?

... I unno, seems easier to me, but this way you would get someone to play your level...

The ingame camera produces images that are almost thumbnail size...

Agreed, they are far too tiny to do your level any justice.

Has anyone been able to snag good-looking shots during motion sequences? I'd love to get some snapshots of my pinball table, but I fear everything would be blurry.

It doesn't really pick up lighting effects either - it just kind of ignores them.

I've noticed it picks up most lighting, but ignores [some?] spotlights, gas, and illumination from electrified materials. Disappointing, to say the least.2009-03-08 18:38:00

You'd think with the power of the PS3... we could just take a regular screen capture...

*sigh*

You should also be able to take small video's. Do companies not think of these things or is there some sort of legal problem with letting the PS3 take screen captures? I'm sure you can do it in debug units... Sony, let me take a screen capture with my "computer"!

Didn't they say they were implementing video capture in an upcoming patch?

Yeah.. I use an SLR to take the pics... And if you are trying to have them on this forum, I figure the easiest way for me to post mine is via photobucket.

It works pretty well... And you capture WAY more info than you need. But you can get some good results.

So, if people want it, I figure it is something nice I can do to help out.
