A video showing LBP's cut content, and alpha/beta footage. Pretty neat.

Just found this video. It had things in it that even I didn't know. (And you know I'm a LBP fanatic).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o4DAjEfUkY

He does get some small things wrong, like saying that Yellow Head was the first version of LBP's main character (yellow head and the game he was in was never meant to be a representation of LBP later on - it was only meant to be used as a concept/pitch to publishers).

He does dig through the game files though and finds materials not included in the final game, audio not used, a sticker, and he even found the ice hazard tool that was shown in early builds of the game, but unfortunately it didn't work. He also found a spring object that actually worked too, but there's no footage of it though.

He also believes there was a beach theme and levels meant to be between The Gardens and The Savannah.

There's also hints of another curator creator that wasn't used in the final game - some master creator who lives on the moon and gives the player tutorials. This wasn't mentioned in the video but that kinda explains why the songs used in the tutorial levels are called "My Advice." The master creator is giving his tutorial/advice there.

He also believes/learns that the first Music Pack and Monster Pack use/have music from levels that were originally supposed to be in the base game but were later cut for unknown reasons.

I've just mentioned some of the things in the video.

Fantastic, thanks a lot for the link! I've started to play lbp in 2011 and I never created something in lbp1! But its fine to get an impression of the origins of the game!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

Despite already watching this video, I'm quite glad you posted it on these forums!

It's nice to see a discussion about the creation of this wonderful game series.

...I too started playing about mid/late/just before 2011.

Thanks! Did you see that live stream they did where they were playing the early version of LBP? They were showing some very early stuff, like what they pitched to Sony and earlier models. It was pretty cool. I think it was their Birthday stream?2016-11-29 15:55:00
