What do you think your first project will be?

Archive: 27 posts

We all have our preferences of things we like to create, but given what we have seen so far, what might be the first thing you might try?

...now granted we would mostly play with the tools and see what they all do, but I'm curious what particular genre of game, or creation might be your first interest?

I think mine might be space... I like space. ..and maybe even take a shot of another Space Escape sequel in Dreams. Maybe another sort of mini game first. There are quite a few ideas I would like to attempt just to see what sort of lighting and other effects can be done with this new platform of creation.

What about you?

As a retired creator(I haven't created something in LBP3 for about a year and a half), I'd probably just mess around xD. I would create a giant 3D world of chocalate, cakes, candy, ice cream, and every other type of sweet in the world, and then I would just explore it!2016-11-13 18:57:00

First I will try to do some astonishing landscapes! And then...we will see! 2016-11-14 13:18:00

It all depends on the tools we can use. Maybe I'll just make a bunch of concepts and stuff to test the limits and figure out a base for a good design for a Dream.2016-11-14 17:57:00

I want to do something horror related, something really scary.

I also want to explore making any and all types of scenery.

Create a object and try to give it a texture with photos/stickers/materials. Like in Unity/Blender.

A landscape. Desert.

I'll probably try re-creating existing 3D models to get my feet wet with the modeling, then probably a simple platformer to learn the game's logid tools and animations.

As for actual projects, I have a few ideas but I'd rather wait and learn what the limits are so I don't get my hopes up for nothing.

I want to create a TopDown landscape.

If possible, I want to make a TopDown shooter.

I'm sure that in Dreams there will be a way to also make top down levels! 2016-11-18 09:28:00

I think it could be possible. You can create in 3D, so what will block you?

I think many eyecandys will be made. You know Disarmed? If he buys Dreams, we will see some beautiful scenerys.

I learned my mistakes with LBP. I will get something out as soon as possible. Probably a platformer or some poor mans Zelda-then proceed to make an RPG once again.2016-12-12 14:17:00

I don't know. I will probably start creating mostly easy stuff like a 3D platformer or a Racing-platformer2016-12-12 21:38:00

Definitely going to start with some simple thing dealing with logic. We'll see based off of what logic is allowed. I probably will never actually publish anything 2016-12-13 21:45:00

Have they mentioned what types of logic is available? I does seem likely they could port some stuff over from LBP2

They could make things easier. The could easily make a 3D cam available.2016-12-16 14:46:00

Oh! That makes me wonder what the camera options are going to be. I'm assuming it's going to be like 3d modeling programs where you set the camera. Wonder if there will be an orthographic view or not. Probably, considering there was the degree setting on the camera in LBP. OOOOooooo! You could make some cool things going on, like pretending you're watching from a security camera that follows the player around! So many possibilities!2016-12-17 04:02:00

This is a really good question, and it's something I've thought about so much ever since I saw what this game could potentially do!
I think what I'd like to do first of all is really try and recreate my very first LittleBigPlanet level. Not many people played it, but basically the idea was that you were an elf who had to escape Santa's workshop. Santa, in this case, being a dictatorial monster using the elves as cheap labour.

So basically I wanted to create something like Abe's Oddysee with a festive twist!
The limitations of the first game made this a long, difficult chore. And at the end, whilst I was happy to have finished, it still didn't look anything as I imagined.

So I'll want to do it all over again. But this will ultimately depend on how easy the system is to use. I could spend hours on LBP just trying to figure out how to get the cameras to work, and even with the tutorial it often felt completely impossible to get the tools to do what I wanted them to do.

But if this is easier to use, then I'll want to basically build this industrial setting, full of Christmas lights and tinsel and killer reindeer, with propaganda posters everywhere!

Great ideas! I think Dreams' cameras and effects have more variety. In LBP you have a limited set of filters, while you can totally control the sun/moon in Dreams, you can edit the colors of the screen, you can pixelate it, add a chromatic abooration effect and what not. And best of all: If a feature is missing and people want it, MM could add it in.2018-11-26 06:06:00

Funny! I have kind of a similar idea but with Rudolf. I always wanted to make a "Christmas" level, but one where Rudolf gets drunk and they have to try and catch him and sober him up to fly. Rudolf is flying in circles over their heads and Santa comes out with a shotgun and is going to shoot Rudolf down and so the elves are trying to wrestle the gun away from Santa. A very Redneck Christmas.

I will make a 3D Sonic level. A fully 3D one, like Sonic Generations and Sonic unleashed. Making a 3D Sonic level has been my dream since LBP2. I did make a 3D Sonic level in LBP2 (with its own boss), but the reviews for it were negative. That's partly because the control was a bit sloppy, and the 3D camera was a bit iffy. LBP3 didn't have any full 3D creation capabilities, so I more or less went in standby mode in terms of creating. But I think I'll return to creating if I ever decide to pick up Dreams.2018-11-26 21:19:00
