What is the better technique
Archive: 3 posts
Have created a mining system where the player picks 1 of 9 pickaxes to mine 9 different ore types. Each ore is a cube that gets its complicated logic via Broadcast chips (1 broadcast chip per ore type). I have a receiver sensor on every cube. Would it be a better technique to have put a circuit board on every ore piece instead, and avoid the use of broadcast chips here? Am using dynamic thermo, if that changes anything. Thx in advance 😀 | 2016-09-22 16:42:00 Author: LBPtony Posts: 4 |
This is the sort of thing the broadcast chip was made for, so simply because it exists as a creation tool it must therefore be better in this scenario. I'd be very surprised if individual chips turned out less thermo intensive. | 2016-09-25 03:02:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |

Thx in advance 😀 if you make the broadcast chips move with the player and reduce the broadcast range you can minimise the amount of active logic in your level at any given time, just set the range so that any cubes that are close enough for the player to interact with are always within the broadcast range | 2016-09-26 10:30:00 Author: evret Posts: 612 |
