Help me find others to create with

Archive: 6 posts

Help me find a creator to help, or if someone wants to help make a level then help me. You gotta be a creator that knows how to use edit mode or can work around the fact I can make gameplay/logic content, while you can make the story, theme, dialog, quests, and anything else that does not directly involve physics or logic.

I don't have a big ol' portfolio you can ogle at (I have lbp.me pictures in my sig but thats it). I will perform on the spot. I know how to use all the tools and gadgets, and lbp3's new tools is easier than ever to create, only certain things. The only hard part is getting that one good idea down, and sticking to it because it works.

Everytime i think about Create mode with other people, i always think about people constantly asking to rewind and pause/unpause, people putting some sackbots replaying loud microphone sounds, people putting community objects like ships or something and stuff... And the best part is that is funny!

If i want to have some nonsense fun with people, i go to Create mode. However, i stick to be alone on making lvls that i would release in the future or testing new ideas. Plus, you get more experienced with the tools. Today i was testing a Tekken-like layout using Timers and controlling some Sackbots to fight, very primitive, but i can't think that i would make such thing on co-op.

A combo system would sound fun to do, it's the hitboxes that might be difficult to balance. And making sure no one can stunlock the other player. I know how it is to make levels alone but there has been times where I have worked with others and truly got stuff done, it was amazing. I think it can still happen. This can still mean working in single player but still working towards one level by filling a certain position.2016-08-12 02:47:00

Hi Lucidess,

I'm also not a real team creator, when I've tried it, then its mostly been chaotic and rather ineffective. More stress than fun. And I'm rather slow when I'm creating, which is frustrating for eventual team partners. If someone asks for help for some specific aspects however or if someone asks me to accompany him during the creating process by stages and to give some feedback, then I'm always trying to help as good as possible.

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

My team creating has only been effective once, which was with venat on an RPG that i don't believe ever got finished, but the work was going extremely fast while we were working on different sections of the same level. The rewinding sometimes got in the way, but we knew enough about what we were doing to not have to backtrack a lot. The main problem we faced was lag especially since the logic was complicated and LBP already doesn't like having a lot of logic on one microchip. THere are ways around this lag, but it is annoying if you have to separate the same function into separate microchips iftheres just a long list of elements.2016-08-12 19:32:00

Well if anyone has a weird question feel free to ask, i'm experienced with a lot of glitched materials, diligent with the thermo heat, can make stuff fast, has a lot of objects that can help one build quickly, and a lbp1 level with 100's of collectables for creators.. and i'm still making more collectables. Things like prefabs, assets, preset built areas to construct a whole level for certain powerups, vehicles, and other weird getups.

Not so experienced with lbp3's tools but already seeing broadcast chips amping up my logic game, it's not really enough to move to lbp3 permanently though.

So yeah I'll gift stuff on request, only if it's within the games possibility spectrum, if you know what I mean.
