The game is in the works but not sure where I should take it quite yet.
Been playing with 3D stuff to see what I can use.
This is going to be a small game.

Need some ideas for a fish based game.

Hi venat,

its been such a joy to visit you and thanks that I got the chance to have a look on your 3D fish project! I'm sure that it will become extraordinarily fantastic! The picture is looking great!
Maybe the fish could collect some scales...or what about some worms on some fishhooks you could eat, but be careful not to get caught by the fisherman...
I will think about it, maybe I'll have some more ideas!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

Game is looking more detailed then whats in the picture right now. Plus its hard to take photos in 3D mode without it being cut in halve. So I had to take a PS photo and upload that into the game and take a photo of that photo.

It seems that the game is roughly 23-25% done so far in size. Right now im just gonna make a very basic roaming adventure in a detailed 3D world. Im missing some objects so I cant really make more stuff in my game, like enemies. I do wanna finish this small project so I can go back to working on Zelda. I would like you to come back and check out the level again for more feedback, by then it should have more work done with it. Good chance that is this going to be a Sumo pick but also considering it might not if its just a simple swim in the park without any gameplay features. I can only work with what I got so I can`t adds worms if there isnt anyway for me to add worms in 3D.

Yeah can't take photos in 3D mode that give you the same view of the screen when your in gameplay mode. Much taller and wider view like in the first post image. Basically adding more and more detail. Started to add in some extra logic for some gameplay already. There is a bunch im leaving out so I dont spoil anything. Still roughly 25% filled up still. I'm basically improving the quality of that quarter of the level still.

At roughly the 70% mark of being done. Pretty much the start & the middle are done. More ocean still needs to be created. Starts off in a river that moves your forward & then you are able to explore in the ocean.

How do I prevent other players dropping into the level?

You can immediately trigger the close level gate upon entering the level to prevent other players from joining (It looks like the end race thingy but with a sackboy face on it)2016-08-04 00:01:00

Thanks. I will look into it when I update the level.

By the way the level is done!!

CuriousSack I used your Ruination OST for the level. Was the only track I had that seemed good for it.

Going to be releasing a boss level thats going to connect with this level later. Right now still working on it. I was planning to add it with the main level but the game started toget laggy even in create and had to stop around 60% thermo/75% filled.

X to shoot. Shooting is only used at the very beginning though. Couldn't find a way to create single enemies that looked good right now. The game is pretty much just exploring, even though its pretty straight forward. It was more open but I changed it so players wouldn't miss anything.

Hi venat,

your level is a wonderful relaxing level, a fine scenery which doesn't really need more gameplay elements! To me its a demonstration, what one can do with a fine 3D control. I only had the problem, that playing it with the PS3 there have been some issues, f.e. I got a freeze in the little cage, where you have to spit on the switch (I guess). I think its been cause of the limited space inside of the cage, where its already been problematic to move the fish and when I then moved the camera ankle...this must have been to much for the power of the PS3. I still have to try it on my PS4, but I've been so busily working on my "Solar One" (and I've made really good progress!) that I will try it not before weekend!
Your level is really great (for an old man like me, who doesn't need permanent action, but loves to enjoy the fantastic visuals of your underwater world!) So thanks a lot and I would love to play a sequel some day!

Freeze?

Only thing where you use the split is at the very start.

I kinda messed up on the button. Your post to touch it with your character but it doesnt work. Instead when the baby fish reach you location by the switch they press it for you instead. It still sorta worked so I kept it in without editing it.

I was planning on adding more to the ending but the level starts toget this huge fps loss when your facing towards areas with lots of objects. Can see this if you try to move backward near the end of the level. In terms of that I was still working little bits of the boss fight where the shooting would play into it again.

I think I should:
Remove the shooting.
Fix the switch.
Dress up the area bit more. (Had one spot kinda unfinished.)

Maybe some extra logic for the baby fish.
Spread out the baby fish around the level that follow you.
Remove the Level Link and add a Level Ender followed by a level clear.
Lock the Start from anyone else entering the level. (Not sure how to do that.)
Add a ending to the level. (Thinking of having rocks fall down/killing the Octopus and destroying all the Ink. (Not sure about it. Thats alot of work lol)
Deleting all the rocks/plants at the start of the level after you reach the bottom of the river and can't go back up. (Might help with loading & with that fps issue.)

I was gonna add enemies in but it was hard to find a way to add in a decent 3D enemy. I got close to adding these guys in...

http://biogeodb.stri.si.edu/bioinformatics/dfmfiles/files/c/13226/13226_400.jpg

couldn't find a way to add the sideways upward spikes. or the downward & downward sideway spikes.
I also dont have the monster pack dlc so I had issues adding even more stuff.

Also not sure how this level is post toget a MM pick. I need more feedback Curious.

Hi venat,

sometimes its a little bit frustrating, if you have a precise idea of what would be fine and then you have the limitations of the game, which don't always allow to do the effects that would be so great! I think that you've come to some limits and so its ok that you don't have all of your fine ideas in your level. To me its a fantastic level and its absolute fun to explore only without any riddles or boss fights etc.

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

EDIT: ...as far as I can remember there has been a game on the early consoles (maybe dreamcast or even PS2) where you had to play a dolphin and you had to explore the ocean, and as far as I rmember there hasn't been any other gameplay than swimming and exploring!

Im almost tempted to make a open world version of this game. No mans sky style. Not sure how I would though. Would have to move all the objects in 3D space and not the character. All the objects have a controlnator on them and all running off of the same color and controls. I can probably do it no problem but rather tweek this some more maybe so it gets a MM pick and work on Zelda some more.2016-08-19 01:58:00

If I would have to decide, you would get the MM Pick cause of the innovative idea and the fantastic design. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! 2016-08-19 08:45:00

I republished the level. Moved some of the baby fish placement around the level. (They follow you if you find them. They aren't needed for anything)
After you reach the bottom of the river some "river" objects get destroyed. (Might help with fps.)
Removed shooting.
Added a bit more objects on some rocks.
Branches and Cage gate now open by player range/touch sensor.
Added a Score Board and proper trigger for ending the level.
Start point destroys after the first player spawns in. (This seems to still spawn in players for some reason.)
