Not true, I care. I am a level hound! I love playing levels, though admittedly, I haven't played in a while. Fallout 4 got me and now 3 weeks till No Man's Sky. But, I think I'm about to try and remove Fallout 4 from my playstation and put in some LBP. I feel the need, the need for LBP. Anyway, welcome aboard man, glad to have you here at LBPC.2016-07-20 05:03:00

Sorry for sounding like a jerk but I have been trying to get everyones attention in game for a long time, so I don't expect much attention here (because i'm a jerk). I don't like all the terrible levels people are over playing, mainly any level with 100k views shouldn't be viewed because there is probably something better out there that deserves playing. Even if it's 50k it's not enough, it has sickened me since 2012 or so. It has made me lose a LOT of personal drive in actual creating, and I have to scrape up all my creative energy over a long period of time just to get things done now, because I do it as a way to relax too... or atleast I used to when I didn't expect much out of the community for obvious reasons, because I didn't have any levels yet... but now I have 20 lbp1 levels and 7 lbp2 levels that have as much exposure as a shadow in the dark. and like 1 out of every 2 people tell me to shut up on the story comments when I spam h4h, i don't care if you are mad, just sayin'.. i'm bored, and I want hearts to equate how much **** effort I spent creating life.. I mean levels. At this point i'm just coasting along with what I know, but I could of been much much greater with a little more attention than a few views a week with no comments, or feedback, or anything. I find myself fixing my own bugs weeks later in certain levels that need fixing, no one tells me even if they play the level. I guess it's nice when I get a player into my own level and force me and the other player to play it all the way through with a lot of my help and they are all like yay that was great, and that makes me feel good. I usually make more friends than levels at this point, 90% of my day though is trying to find someone to make a level with, then them messing around in edit mode, then i quietly sign out because i'd rather make a level than **** around.2016-07-20 08:41:00

Hi Lucidess,

and also welcome from me, nice to meet you! You're sounding depressed and thats a pity! But now you are in lbpc and that could change some things! You certainly will get more feedback about your levels, if you introduce them in the level showcase section. You will find some experienced creators who will give you hints how things could get improved or who can help you to find solutions for some effects you want to create. I think that the times of 100k plays are over, team picked levels get about 10k to 20k plays, but to me its more important, whether my friends like a level or not! I'm curious to play some of your creations!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

Hey! And like jwwphotos and CuriosSack say, if you want people to play your levels, just post them in the the Level Showcase section. You'll get plays in no time! And if you want more people, I suggest checking out other LBP sites like LittleBigForum,LittleBigNetwork, and Sackinma .2016-07-20 21:45:00

Hello and welcome to Central. Sad to see you're thinking no one cares, because as Bio and everyone else has said, we indeed do. As others have recommended, posting in the level showcase could help a lot. Though I honestly just recommend that you play for fun, the rest is really just an added bonus. Again, welcome and enjoy your stay! 2016-07-21 05:57:00

I hate advertising... so i don't feel like showcasing. for all of lbp1 I worked like a dog to get on the "cool levels" page and now theres this team picks thing and i have no idea how it's finding these levels. It's a hard fact to swallow that I have to rely on information out of game, to get good levels in game. Life is fun, but spending all day to find fun levels by loading every single level and trying it out, isn't. I know this sounds contradicting but I relied on the ingame advertising service (text search, tags, etc) to get what I want, and it utterly failed.

I would of left this all alone and completely changed my tone if I got my 5 seconds of fame or whatever it is. I bet most authors don't even realize how **** sweet it is. I guess i'm really that terrible of a level designer. Honestly, you guys have amazing ideas and levels that are just better than mine. So there. I mean atleast you guys somehow are able to present your levels 100 times better than me. But how often do YOU spend meticulous detail with a corner tool, know every in and out of logic, and be able to make assets and content very quickly? Everyone I guess.

Right now i'm playing a level by fireblitz95 and it's better than all of the level's i've played in ages.

Trust me, the in-game level finding system in the LBP series has never been... reliable. LBP3 added the recommended level section after a certain amount of updates, but before that, LBP1,2,and 3(before the updates) had pretty terrible level finding systems. It's pretty much agreed by most LBP Vets that the best way to find levels is LBP.me. Whether it's looking at fansites, youtube videos, or any kind of LBP content that shows good levels, you can easily queue 'em up or add them to your playlist in lbp.me. Trust me, I used to be in your EXACT same boat. I used level tags, lucky dip, Highest Rated, Most Hearted, etc and none of them ever worked, except for the genius Recommended level section. But even the Recommended level section will run out of levels at some point as you keep playing them, and the ultimate way to find levels will be LBP.me. I have like 9 playlists filled with 40 levels each, and I've barely gotten to playing most of them as I just keep adding more and more and making more playlists. One good way to find levels on lbp.me is to look at a good creator's levels, their recent activity, their hearted levels, and their lists. Trust me, you'll find endless levels to play .

As for getting levels to be popular, its true that it's very difficult. I spent a lot of time trying to get my levels popular back when I was still creating, but it's really hard with LBP games' search systems. The best way to at least get a decent amount of plays is definitely posting on multiple fansites. You should check out the ones I listed in my post above, including this forum. Posting on 1 fansite means you might not get enough attention. Multiple fansites will give you more level plays, and will also give you more recognition in the LBP community.

Anyways, trust me, I was in your exact same boat and was just as frustrated with LBP games, but being part of the community on this forum and other LBP forums has really helped shape me as an LBP player. And I'm not even that popular, I only have 155 hearts haha! And LBP.me had made LBP SO MUCH more fun, no joke. Especially when you have playlists or queues. All the levels you want to play are just right there, you just boot them and GO!

Also, about your creating skills, I'm sure they're amazing! And if you want to get better, talk to the people on this forum. The LBP community is so great, especially the people on fansites like this .

EDIT: Also, it sounded like you only have LBP2, since you didn't say you had any LBP3 levels. I would says the best way to find levels on there is to queue them up on lbp.me, since playlists only show up in-game in LBP3 and not LBP2. Also about people playing your levels, there's been a MASSIVE decrease in LBP2 players as most people are on LBP3 now, so posting levels on fansites is the best way to get your LBP2 levels recognition.

Ehh, hehe.. I haven't published anything in a long long time, last level I actually finished was in LBP2. I like to think I'm much better now (If I could actually stick with and finish a level.. ^^") Glad you liked one of my older levels though.

I'll just be looking at your guys levels that are on this forum, then maybe i'll try somewhere else.. i'm already burnt out from trying to get anyones attention for levels at just the thought of advertising, starting to seem like it's pointless to create now if it's really that bad. Yeah, I could never get the queue thing since it was hard to get into the habit.2016-07-22 02:08:00

I can understand that . Yeah, LBP has always had problems giving players recognition, or even team picks. My suggestion for Sumo Digital or StevenI on team picks would be that you can only give 1 team pick per creator. This way, more and more people out there get team picks, instead of just the same people over and over again.

As for advertising, it's not too bad. It only sucks when your doing it in-game and posting comments on peoples' profiles, because people will usually ignore you . But on fansites people will always say something like "Queued up!" on your level thread which means they ready to queue and play your level . But it's perfectly fine if you don't feel like advertising . I also wish Sumo made it easier for lesser known players to get attention, and even another way to find good levels besides just the "Recommended for You" section. Oh well I guess haha.

As for queuing, trust me, it's the way to go. I usually just have my laptop right next to me, but it's so much easier to find good levels on "lbp.me" .
If you're on a computer or a device that's not right next to you, I can understand where you're coming from . But you can just queue up like 20 or 30 levels(especially on LBP2, since levels don't disappear right after you play them in your queue like they do in LBP3)overnight and come back to your console to play them the next morning . But it's fine if you don't feel like it. It even took me a while to get into the habit too, but I was finally able to find a system that fits me the most(having my laptop charging right next to me haha!).

Heya, Lucidess.

And a late welcome to LBPC. I know it may be frustrating when tons of copied levels get the fame, but if you want to get some tips, show your levels and everything else what fellow LBPCentral members have said above me, then you are in a right place. Do not give up hope.

For me, I never cared about the fame. I just wanted some happy sackboys and girls find my levels into their liking. And I think I have succeeded in that. It warms my heart.

You may have had some bad days, but that doesn't mean you have a bad life. Enjoy your stay here and move on to you life goals. You will reach them someday.

See ya!

Trust me I don't care about fame either, I merely value everyone's time. If the games level search engine could sort by how much effort and stuff is actually in the level, then I wouldn't be having this problem at all. I am really good at lbp's edit mode, and i'm not afraid to admit it.

Also can the 99 guests currently on the website please register? Imagine if 99 people registered right now. Dat activity.
