But...what about all those fantastic levels...does this mean: no online gaming anymore?...no new creations anymore?...no karting anymore?...
...now I'm really depressed!

Well, lbpkarting is the only lbp I ever created in. I spend so many times creating my levels that I am so disappointed to learn that servers will shut down. Today there are still players playing my level. Too bad that Sony nor UFG didn't believe in this game which had so much potential2016-07-05 22:38:00

Hi. It is a shame, and to think modnation lasted longer !? Im going to put all my stuff up, finished or not as remixables then if anyone wants to play it offline or make stuff after they can. I wonder if anybody would finish my surf sim? ( if they could work it out !) It would be great if everyone on here would publish their stuff as remixables, then other people can still play them. I known I would. R.I.P. LBPK. We'll just have to resurrect it in Dreams 2016-07-06 19:50:00

It seems like it was doomed before it even came out, with the state it was in and only one DLC.

Well, at least I have time left to play through my backlog, 35 levels left. Got my Dive In trophy that way, too.

I'm with you LBC

I'm currently on holiday abroad but on my return Sackfriends I will be.......

Uploading every level I've built as copyable and all objects I've created as prize bubbles.

Grab 'em while you can!

Just been reading some posts on other forums and Sony themselves. This seems to be only affecting the Japanese servers (and there looks like there is a work around for them too) so all is not lost Sackfolk!

Personally though, I've been intending to upload all my levels as copyable for a while now, so will be doing just that very soon!

I'm afraid that this isn't right, the closing of the Japanese servers is a different thing from the closing of the PSP servers and the closing of the Karting servers.2016-07-12 12:51:00

So this post from Stevenl doesn't mean that then?

"Hi Folks,

Just to clarify a couple of things...

Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia (SIEJA) are shutting down their online services for the LittleBigPlanet titles on July 31st.

This shut down will only affect players that are playing LittleBigPlanet using a Japanese version of the game.

The rest of the world will be unaffected by this and the LittleBigPlanet servers will continue to operate normally for the rest of the LittleBigPlanet player base."

........................

Forget the question. It is definitely confirmed by other friends that our beloved LBP franchise is losing both LBPK and PSP servers.

Sad day

Ok so here's the odd thing, the UK store page doesn't have the mention of the servers closing that the US store page has but the PSP page on both does and the decomissioned servers page only has PSP down for closure. https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/legal/gameservers/2016-07-14 14:29:00

I meant the emergency services karts (http://littlebigplanet.playstation.com/downloadable_content_items/1248).

Level pack would have been cool.

I forgot about those. Are they still around? I consider buying them now.

I found https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/games/addons/emergency-services-costume-pack/cid=EP9000-BCES00850_00-LBPDLCORIGCK0013 but it doesn't mention the karts, and I came across some complaints that the karts didn't work, so maybe it's just the costumes now.2016-07-25 20:25:00

A sad day indeed! In following suit with scorpio and cat I will be making my more popular levels copyable soon. I will also hopefully finish my Harry Potter level before the servers shut down.2016-07-27 01:36:00

It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to this awesome online karting community! You guys will definitely be missed. As a farewell present I republished some of my karting levels as copyable for you all to enjoy after the servers are down. Those levels are as follows:
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fai (Nightmare)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fak (Hunger Games)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fam (Once)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fao (Peter Pan)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11faq (Coraline)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fas (Alice)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fau (Alice in Wonderland)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11faw (Zoo Battle)
https://karting.lbp.me/v/11fay (Frozen)

I will miss karting and creating with you guys. I hope to see some of you in Dreams.

Sincerely

er..... It's the 19th september and servers are still up and running fine. Has someone done a blopper on this thread ? I really don't see how they can pull the plug on thousands of players, who've collectively spent 100,000s of hours creating material ?

Incidentally my 1st book is now out: www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?contributorId=1524854 and has a couple of pages dedicated to LBPK.

I wasn't going to mention my book here, but seeing as there is still no instant solution to giant corporations having unparalleled power over the creative content of the populace; and now i'm being told that LBPK servers might possibly shut, despite the fact that people are still creating and promoting the platform. I thought i'd give it a mention. It's a very broad book, and not recommended for anyone under 15 as it does contain some swearing, and sexual themes in one chapter.

Heavens forbid that they pull the plug on the LBPK servers. I'll never buy another Sony console again if they do.

I heard they did shut down in the North America and Japan regions. There was a sale on LBP Karting on the EU store in July, so maybe they realised there would be trouble if they shut down the server a month later.2016-09-23 17:33:00

Maybe you're right, ...haha, it would be great if they would forget to shut the servers down! After all we have Halloween coming and soon there will be Christmas again and then the announced launch of playstation VR and... and... this could happen to anybody, couldn't it? 2016-09-24 17:56:00

Thats crazy, but when you check lbp.me, you can see many people still playing LBP Karting...
https://karting.lbp.me/v/fhl
But they didnt renew the certificate of the karting part of lbp.me, buggy like LBP3
