super sad: deleted moon and costumes due to history pack

Archive: 6 posts

Hi everyone, punk_jr here!

It's been about a year since I have been on here or played much of lbp due to being so busy with school. Will be getting my bacehlor degree next May, YAY! So since I have been on break, I have been playing lbp when I can. I had an issue with the dlc when I first purchased lbp3 for ps4 but most issues were resolved but the HISTORY pack...it wouldn't download. So eventually the dlc disappeared from the store and I just gave up, but after returning to lbp after a year the dlc was back but I had to pay 3.99 for it.

So I put off calling sony support and was working on my never-ending project of Veatrice the Witch, which all of my lbp friends know about hehehe. I've gotten so good at making geat eye candy stages, as I was working on the 3 stage for my project...which was looking AMAZING until I finally decided I wanted to use the history kit stickers!

So I called sony support and probably wasted an hour of my life due to holding on the line. Well I spoke to someone who walked me through several different actions on trying to get the dlc back but nothing worked. The last action being to delete the lbp application. I was very hesitant to do, but the guy on the line assured me only updates for the game would be deleted. SO I was like, OK!, then I was told to call back if the issue wasn't resolved after I re-downloaded everything which would take 10 min. Guess what! My History Kit did not come back, it was still marked as 3.99, but worst of all, all of my levels from my moon and allll of my costumes were deleted.

I am soooo sad... I never thought this would happen to me. I know there is no real value in what I lost, but I love making levels, even though I never post much, I have spent so much time on my stages and now they're just gone. A part of me just really wants to cry and I am so disappointed. All because I was trying to get the History Kit back. Maybe I should have just paid 3.99 hahahaaaa. This was not worth the loss I am currently suffering from. I called sony support and they said there was no more they could do... and referred me to littlebigplanet.playstation.comto get help there, which I actually did last year and no one helped me. I even posted on here last summer and still did not have any resolve. Who knew the history kit would be the demise of me and my project.

Well fortunately I have some of the stages from project on a usb drive lol which goes to show I never published the completed stages of the project. If anyone reading has made it this far, just know that I was trying to recreate the experience I had with the original lbp. I was so amazed with what other creators made online, and I wanted to give others that same experience too. I guess once I am done with the 1st 3 stages I will just publish them. I know I still have a handful of friends who still play lbp, and I had so many players rooting for the completion of Veatrice the Witch, but alas, I am getting older lol. I fear that my passion for creating on lbp interferes with my real life as I have duties that I must execute to be a successful adult. I guess my only fear is that I will never finish this project that I have been so diligent in, maybe by the time I'm done with my project, no one will be playing lbp. lol

I hate to say it but... there's not much really going for the LBP series. Just, not enough support from Sony to keep it alive. I remembering spending a day with a glitched store. I wanted to buy the Spongebob DLC, but the game wouldn't let me buy any DLC. The frequent fixes from each update are accompanied with more bugs, and it's like an endless cycle that just won't end . Sometimes the game won't let you publish levels, or even access items in your popit! There's just too many bugs, and the game started off on a bad note to begin with . I think you should keep trying to contact Sony and Sumo if you can, but LBP3 is a glitchfest. Their are glitches coming from customers that the developers aren't even aware of . The game is fantastic, but it's like a skyscraper on top of a stick... it just won't work out 2016-06-22 19:19:00

Hi punk_jr,

it also makes me sad to hear that you've lost your moon, I always enjoyed it, when you showed me the things you've been working on. But sometimes life seems to have other plans with us and maybe you have to leave the past behind you to be free for your next step of creativity!
I'm feeling with you!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

That's awful! I quite liked your series and it sounded cool to revisit in LBP3.

Do you happen to have PS+? If so, your profile may have been automatically backed up after your last session.

Was your History Pack from the LBP1 Game of the Year edition? If your DLC was included with a disk version of the game, then it does not transfer over - Sony support should know that, but unfortunately they don't seem to actually know anything about the console or it's games :roll eyes:
When I switched to LBP3 on PS4 I had to buy the History pack, Metal Gear Solid, and the Monster pack.

Congratulations on being so close to getting your degree

Thanks a lot curious sack and Pookachoo! I'm glad to know you enjoyed my work!!

I bought the dlc for the history kit back in 2011 lol but there was an issue with transferring the dlc to the ps4. I actually made a post about this last summer on here with no problem to the solution. Well it's just $4, I wish I had just bought the darn pack instead of trying to get it for free! I almost done with a graveyard which looked really cool!! Unfortunately I backed up some stages last summer so I actually did not have the most current versions of my project which stinks, seeing that I put so much time in creating the stages. I hope to have them done before the end of the summer. Ill make sure to let you know when I publish!

Best, punk_jr

Hi punk_jr,

in December 2014 my PS3 had a crash, and since I've got me a PS4 for Christmas, I didn't try to revive it for more than a year! This year I got me a new harddrive for my PS3 and voila it does function again! I tried to get my old data (I've put so much time in my "Do you fear Death?! project and also in my "LBP Medley" project) cause I always had backed up my profile...at least I thought so! I always had backed up my profile but not the lbp data, so I searched and found a data backup from February 2013 only! My mistake!...and all my creations from then on had been lost! Fortunately I had backed up my music separately!
But I have so much new ideas that I'm not sad anymore!
I wish you good progress and hope that soon we can enjoy some spooky moments on your new graveyard!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^
