LBPC13 - Eye Candy 2

We're back with another taste of Eye Candy!

This is a contest for all the artists out there, especially for those creators who like to put everything into making a visually stunning scene rather than focusing on gameplay.

Create a scene - this can be a small area for the player to walk through, or you can create a short cinematic without spawning the player at all. There should be nothing for the player to actually do other than basking in the wondrous surroundings. We're looking for breathtaking visuals, inspired and original creation.
The winner will receive a rare LBPC Pin and a Crown
(If the the winning creator already has these rare goodies, the prizes will be given to 2nd place)

Chose from one of the following themes and let your imagination run wild:


Architecture
Fantasy
Historical
Industrial
Mythology
Nature
Silhouette
Space




Rules

• Create an original previously unpublished level based on one of the contest themes

• The level should not have any serious gameplay

• All entries must be playable in LittleBigPlanet3

• Publish your levels by June 6th and include the text “(LBPC13)” in the title of the level

• Post LBP.me links to your levels in this thread, so we’re sure not to miss them!

• You can only submit one entry.

• After the deadline, do not republish. Levels republished after the deadline will be disqualified. Exceptions may be made for quick fixes with respect to level titles, description, badges, but only with the prior consent of the contest crew. If you need to request an edit, please post in this thread and send me a PM.

• Last but not least, have fun, play fair and respect other creators, LBPC members, Judges and Staff! (Contestants banned from LBPC at any time during the period of the contest are automatically disqualified from it)

Is it okay to have interactivity like opening doors in a building?

The answer is yes - a little interactivity is fine so long as the player doesn't have to solve puzzles or get past hazards, or do any challenging gameplay.		2016-05-08 18:46:00

If the winning creator already has a Crown or Pin, those rare prizes will be awarded to 2nd place - so don't feel too discouraged based on who else enters the contest

Yes, you can do a film
Keep in mind that we're judging based on visuals. If your film has a story that's fine, just be aware that story telling isn't part of the contest.		2016-05-18 16:44:00

Yes, just post the link (we organize our contests a little differently from LBN)

The rules state that levels must be playable in LBP3, but that doesn't mean you are required to create in LBP3. If you prefer you may create in LBP1 or LBP2, just be aware that the judges will play all the levels in LBP3.
LBPKarting or Vita levels are not eligible for this contest, since those cannot be played in LBP3.		2016-05-24 22:18:00

For those needing LBP1 and LBP2 create assets:
I now have everything in one copyable level: https://lbp.me/v/qxtnpnx/activity
This includes all the unique objects - so for example all the Teddy Bear "parts" are there, but I didn't include the assembled Teddy Bear object. Things like contraptions that were built from other parts in the game are not included either, since creators can build those things themselves.
It's a dynamic thermo so as you hover around browsing, it takes a little time for the items to spawn in around you 		2016-05-26 01:54:00

If it's something very easy for the player, like just getting on a train and riding, that's fine.
The player should not have to do something like solve a difficult puzzles or get through a survival challenge.

This is just tested on PS3. I dont know how the lighting looks on PS4. So keep that in mind.
Also my thermometer wasn't able to handle a larger level.

Hi mdkd, I think that deadline 6th June means that the contest ends at midnight 6th June, so that you've been at least 24hours and 4 minutes before the ending! I would also think that its not European time zone, so that I guess that you are about 30 hours and 4 mitues before the real end!

Deadline is end of the day Monday. I was not specific about time zones so I'll say it's end of the day my time, which is US Pacific, or GMT-8

We look for creations that are original and inspired with attention to detail - but really what makes a creation "good" is quite subjective, and that's why it's important to have enough judges so we have a variety of opinions.

We look for creations that are original and inspired with attention to detail - but really what makes a creation "good" is quite subjective, and that's why it's important to have enough judges so we have a variety of opinions.
