The Rapids WIP

New level under construction, well actually nearly finished.

Raft down the river as fast as possible for the highest time bonus, steer through the coloured gates for extra points and increase your final score.

Green gates (wide gap, easy positions) 1000 points

Orange gates (average gap, medium difficulty positions) 2000 points

Red gates (narrow gap with challenging positions, may be hidden) 5000 points

Blue PRIZE gates. There are FIVE hidden gates along the route, find ALL of these and win goodies.

There are directional arrows to guide you down river, but it's up to you if you choose to take notice of these or look out for the shortcuts to help you to the finish line faster.

I've made controlling the raft as simple as possible. All steering and forward/back movement is made using the LEFT STICK.

Don't you just hate it when you get carried away in the creation imagisphere?

Well, I did. But luckily the Sack gods were on my side. They should get a proper noun status I guess, so I'll write that again.......

The SackGods were on my side and.......yay.......they helped, I carried on and a new level was born...possibly.

It's in beta test mode now (for the Sackfolk that follow my creation process they'll know that means my daughter tries to break it)

Here's hoping it passes the rigorous scrutiny?

So beta testing part 1 complete. No serious issues. Yay.

A couple of suggestions from my tester......

1. To create more routes down the river for replayability, have been working on that today. These aren't necessarily faster but do have high scoring opportunities.

2. To incorporate some kind of 'hint' arrows to help the player find the sneaky high value routes and also the Prize Gate locations. I'm going to put these on a button press control, so if you're a purist and want to find everything by yourself, you can. However if you're getting frustrated the option is there.

I have noticed personally during testing that the sounds sometimes glitch. I'd say 99% of the time it's fine. There are so many water and sound effects going on I'm not surprised and it doesn't affect gameplay.

Needless to say the level won't be published yet, hopefully this week.
