Will importing LBP1/2 stuff mess up my LBP3 save in any way?

Archive: 4 posts

I completed LBP3 a long time ago and got all prize bubbles, but I never imported at start of game when it asked. But I remember in LBP2 there were stories of people importing saying it reset their collected stuff or something similar which is why you should do it at start instead of later on. Basically if I import late will it add the stuff on top of stuff I already have with no risks or consequences?2016-03-27 00:30:00

Huh, I'd never heard of that... You could always back up the save file first! If you don't want to do that, PS plus takes time to upload the save file, so if you do it and it messes up, usually switching to the PS Plus save file will save you . I know people who have prevented losing their entire level that they'd spent 30+ hours making. Just make sure to grab the correct save file (i think LBP3 uses just one...)2016-03-27 08:06:00

Hmm, okay thanks. ^_^ My PS Plus sub ran out a while ago after I kept it for years, and will be a while before I resub, but I can save it to my flash drive I guess.2016-03-27 11:02:00

Importing your LBP1/2 stuff won't affect your LBP3 profile. I've had to do this a few times since completing the main story, because early on some of the older content didn't transfer over and then later I had some of the basic material vanish out of my popit - importing my LBP1/2 stuff fixed that issue and didn't cause any other problems.
You should back up a copy of your profile regularly anyway though. Profile corruptions can happen at any time so it's important to always have a copy saved to USB stick if you don't have PS+. Also it's a good idea to back up your Adventure Progress
