Transfer materials to PS4?

Archive: 6 posts

Hello everyone I recently got a PS4 so I'm wondering, does the PS4 version have a profile importer or something? and if not, is there a way to transfer your goodies and materials to the PS4 version? I want to keep using all of my LBP1 and LBP2 materials to create, ideally ! thank you very much2016-02-24 06:55:00

Yes, but a lot of things are super iffy on the transfer in my experience. I'm not too sure about the materials though.2016-02-24 08:33:00

Based on my knowledge, there are three ways you can follow:
1) There is an in-game transfer option for objects coming from LBP1&2 story modes on the start menu (as long as you've completed LBP2 story mode and played LBP1 at least one time, and you're using the same PSN account). Not perfect as koltonaugust said but most of the materials get transferred.
2) For personal captured objects, the only way to transfer them to PS4 is to publish a level (locked and/or sublevel) with them inside (prize bubbles might be a choice but I'm unsure about how it works, I think you can put them as concrete objects inside the level) and then copy it to your moon on PS4. Using sackbots you can use this method to transfer over captured costumes as well.
Same applies if you want to transfer levels started on either one of the three LBP main games on PS3 to LBP3 PS4.
3) DLC objects from LBP1&2 Level Kits cannot be transferred, so you might have to either replay the Level Kits you bought to obtain them or go through Time Saver Pack levels.

Well, I know about the import feature from the PS3 verison, but how does one use it for the PS4 version when you can't have PS3 savefiles on a PS4? Do I have to use the PS+ savegame cloud for it to work?2016-02-25 22:20:00

i don't think you really can, at least not natively. As was mentioned the import will bring you things that came with the games themselves (materials, costumes, stickers), i didn't notice if there was anything missing when i did mine. Well, aside from dissolve material, which seems to be missing.
DLC stuff will need to be redownloaded, which i actually found quite tricky. The J-side in-game store doesn't list everything, and the PSN on PS4 only lists kits specifically produced for LBP3. i ended up having to go to the store on my laptop, and then download "for the ps3;" weirdly this still gave me all the outfits in my popit (customize section) even though nothing was actually downloaded. As was noted above, items/outfits/stickers from DLC stages will have to be re-obtained through the stages themselves (or a time-saver community level). This was a real pain for some things, on account of needing more than one player; and the Muppets pack seems to be really tweaky, it's not counting some of my stages as having been completed, though they obviously have been, since it's given me the prizes for Acing those levels.

Now that's all for purchasable stuffs. For things you've made yourself, you'll need to put them in a stage and publish it via the PS3, then copy it to your Moon when playing on the PS4, go in to edit it, and recapture objects and costumes you want. Prize bubbles aren't necessary as long as you can edit the stage. However if the stage contains something that you've not DL'ed into your PS4-LBP3, you will not be able to edit that stage (though you can copy it just fine). i found this out the hard way as the one i was trying to get things from used the skin (just the skin, and exactly once for a 4second cutscene) from the Kabuki outfit. It wasn't listed in the Store, the game wouldn't tell me what i was missing, and it took forever and a day to figure out what the problem was, and then find a way to get the outfit back. Hopefully you're playing with a US account, and that shouldn't be an issue.

Hope this was helpful and you get all your things back. Good luck!

If you’re going to be playing LittleBigPlanet 3 on PlayStation 4 or a different PlayStation 3 to the one you played LittleBigPlanet 2 on, the items will be unlocked based on how far you got through LBP2’s story. As long as you’re using the same PlayStation Network account, the game will use your Pins to figure out which worlds you completed and unlock all of the objects for those worlds. For example, if you have the Pin for completing Avalonia, all of the items and costumes from Avalonia will be unlocked on your LBP3 profile, even if you didn’t necessarily collect every Prize Bubble or ace every level.
