5 Years.

Five years ago I said g'day to this forum for the very first time. Back then we were all crazy on the hype of getting our hands on LBP2 and I myself was most focused with LBP PSP. The forum was incredibly more active and I made a ridiculous amount of friends very quick, back then I was just a very young man, now I'm in University, driving, drinking. It's so weird to see all these people that you considered friends just disappear, I still come on here and expect to see DragonVarsity, Nysudyrgh, ARD, FreeAim just all of you great, fantastic people. But I don't.

This place is just an old memory now, I often browse the old threads I was apart of, that one Mafia game where I died like seven times but got saved by the doctor each time, the many many console wars, the countless quote archives, the mass chaos of the halloween events, User interviews, the minecraft serve, they all still make me smile to this day. Even though I get a similar amount of love on another forum about my new insane obsession (professional wrestling don't judge me guys!) that place will never feel as home as this one. So, I know we don't allow goodbye threads but this isn't really what this is, this is a thank you thread. Thank you to everyone who decided that spending moments of their life with a doofus such as myself was a good use of their time.

Besides, if we happen to be on the forum at the same time feel free to say hi and lets see if we can make some smiles once again together guys.

Hi butter-kicker,

omg! Already 5 years have passed, I'll have to wait til May to say these words. I also met fantastic people here, and I still meet fantastic people! Maybe that 5 years ago its been easier to find them cause of an overall euphoric atmosphere with lbp2 and its a pity that SumoD has missed the chance to revive the atmosphere of that time, but there are still lots of people who share the love for lbp, veterans aaand younger people! And they have fantastic ideas and the drive and patience to create fantasy worlds to entertain the community! And thats great! So thanks a lot to the veterans and also thanks a lot to the newer generation of lbp gamer. You all keep our community alive so that it can be a place to meet friends and have fun.

Some of your friends (Dragonvarsity, ARD) I have seen more often in sackinima.com these days, and btw! a belated Happy Birthday to you!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

Crikey! I joined about a month after you, so it's coming up to my 5yr anniversary. Time really does fly, especially as you get older (I'm a month away from my 30th birthday ).

These days I play very little LBP, so my time on here is pretty much exclusive to the General forums. It's a shame there isn't that much activity these days, aside from the forum games. I guess that's partly down to LBP's general decline in numbers, and also the forum's down-time.
Like you, butters, I fondly remember the mafia wars games (were we mafioso buddies once?). Good times.

It's been five years already? WOW! It feel like only last summer I joined here! Well, that's because I did. X3

I feel kind of sad that I happened to join the online LBP community as it was dying.
Despite me playing all the PS3 games upon the times of release, I honestly have LBP3 closest to my heart, and it was what encouraged me to join the online community! I honestly am sad that LBP3 didn't quite have the revival feel to it for others that LBP2 had; that it had to me. I just hear of the "glory days" of the online community that my friends that were in it at those times tell me about, and I wish those times could come back. I've been trying hard to on Sackinima, and even kind-of here, to revive those days, bring back excitement and activity to the LBP forums, but it always seems to just die back off again.

The only reason why I don't discuss LBP much is because my system died back in June, and so I don't have any project plans, or progress screenshots, or level reviews, or such. But I do plan to get a new one later this month, so I will talk about more LBP stuff soon!

Butter! It's been a journey hasn't it? Time passes so quickly, you turn around and *poof* it's been 5 years, or more. I'll never fully say goodbye to this place and the people i've met along the way. Pop in every now and then to say "hi" would ya.2016-02-05 14:56:00

I'm still around and very active in the community, just not on LBPC as much for a million different reasons And DV's more active than me. I do miss the way this site used to be but I don't know if the spark will ever come back now. I hope this isn't a goodbye and you come back to read the replies to this thread at some point at least I've "left forever" a few times myself over the last 7 years but here I am still logging in when someone mentions me :kz:

feels weird that LBPC is pretty much dead now after all this time. Not with a bang but with a whimper. Eh.

I joined July 2011. That's almost five years ago.

I used to be so obsessed with LittleBigPlanet, but now I have slowly, and painfully (I lost my data), moved on. I never really achieved the fame and fortune that I had dreamed of when I first came here, but that's no big deal. I didn't really need any to enjoy my stay here, and now I think that such things would have cut into more important aspects of my life.

Such a shame that there are so few people here nowadays. It's a bit like a boom town gone bust, where tumbleweed blows in the wind and the most recent threads in many categories are months old. I don't know if I can feel nostalgia for something that was only a few years ago, but when I go through the things I posted on this site, my content and threads, my level advertisements, the drama I created, I feel something very close to it. Occasionally I look at my profile and the profiles of my friends on lbp.me, people who either now play other video games or have left the Playstation Network forever, and read the comments. Sometimes I even get onto the PS4 and play my favorite levels. While I'm on, I like to pretend my friends are still online, and that they're active, reading reviews, writing comments, or faffing about in create mode. I remember when they did, and that, too, feels like nostalgia.

I'd like you all to know that I've been so privileged to have met everyone I met, both on the LBP games and forums. At the end of their day it all came down to the communities. There really are few forums like LBP forums. People here have a warmth and emotional restraint that I don't believe I've found on any other forum, not even ones for other kids' games like Pokemon. These positive attributes are not just on lbpcentral, but on LittleBigNetwork, LittleBigPlanetarium, and the rest. They were all so nice and hospitable.

Lastly, I'd like all readers of this post who have worked with me, become friends with me, or interacted with me in a meaningful way to know that they have contributed, even just a bit, to making this 5 year adventure so memorable. Thank you all so much.

I haven't been on here for a couple weeks, been rather busy, actually.

It's a shame this place isn't too popular now. It'd be nice to see some more activity, but what can ya' do?
Time goes on.

As for myself, I've been creating a few levels and objects and other junk.

What to say about it? You would have to have been there to see what this forum was like around LBP2... I have seen a lot of people come and go, and some constants (like RAWK :kz: ).

Deep down, I wish I could go back to that time.

Hahaha, last week I manged to revive my broken PS3 again (after more than one year) and since I've found only backup data from 2013 I have now the moon of 2013 with alol the old and already deleted objects and sceneries from then! Its so cool, my first musicbox made by some friends for me, all the old song and remakes, all the started and then cancelled projects (from 2011 til 2013) nostalgia pure! 2016-02-10 07:53:00

Almost 5 years for me, although I didn't start posting until 2013. LittleBigPlanet has been with me for the majority of my life. I remember playing the first game when i was 10. This last years of primary school I pretty much played LBP non-stop until halfway through 2010 when I stopped. I would pick up LittleBigPlanet 2 when it was released and today is still remains my favourite game I've played. This was when I was 12. I played it non-stop for a year and then I didn't play as often as I had bought an Xbox 360 and played that more as most of my friends had one. I still however enjoyed coming on every now and then.

I remember meeting a lot of people on both games making many friends but didn't talk to a good number of the ones on LBP1 as many had either moved on and were playing other games or had disappeared completely. LBP2 was no exception, I met people and played with them a good amount of times. Great people who I have sadly no knowledge of anymore as the last time I talked to them was almost 5 years ago (wow!) I did get the chance to play with one for a final time in 2013 but never said goodbye. I left my old account (the shooter0898 PSN) behind when I got my PS4, and with that many of my old friends that I never got to say goodbye to.

When I started posting on these forums I had already stopped playing LBP regularly. I remember my brief time as a peanut slave (still don't think Rawk has noticed that I'm not working on the ARR PEE GEE) I also remember the revived Mafia series and my suicide by helping to vote myself out as well as the console war. This community continued my LBP experience despite the fact I was no longer a regular player. Sure I would spend most of my time on Sackinima from when it was founded but I've noticed that my activity there has declined rapidly, and I'm logging in for the first few times since October. This site is dying off, sadly. I've also noticed it with Sackinima where there have been no new welcome threads since October. Interest in LBP isn't there anymore.

LBP has been with me from the end of primary school into high school, but it looks apparent that it might not be with me when I leave school and go to uni. I look at the people I've added whom I've met on LBP forums like this and I see that only some play LBP every so often. Many of us have been here from the start and have done many different things, but it is clear that our interest is dying off. Maybe LBP3 wasn't the game we wanted. Maybe we wanted something that couldn't be achieved.

LBP3 gathers dust and I only play it every now and then, still haven't achieved that platinum simply because I can't be bothered anymore, it won't be with the same excitement as I had with the previous games. Maybe it's because I got older, or maybe I palyed too much, or maybe like all good things LBP's time has came to an end.

5 days until 5 years...

Kinda miss the days where I would come home from school and just talk here about LBP, games, and just stuff in general. It was always a blast and it's really a shame to see LBPC as inactive as it is now. What can 'ya say... time just caught up, I guess.

Back to lurking!

... huh. 7 years and I'm still trying to hold on.

I got a lot to lose. Made really good friends here, shared some moments, made (and still making, I guess) some stories, got some good memories. I spent a good chunk of my middle and high school life around here. But I guess just like most things in my life, that's gone too. I lost my namesake account a long time ago; borrowed time on here, if you think about it. Heck, I never was a good LBP player- didn't even publish a proper level- because I was always on here. I don't even have my PS3 anymore; granted, I'm close to getting a PS4, but it just wouldn't be the same. And now being an adult with adult matters, more or less, I just don't have as much time as I used to. Time to lurk around... and remember.

I get that a bunch of you guys are elsewhere. LittleBigForum, Sackinima, Planetarium PSN forums, the list goes on. And I've tried branching out, broadening my horizon... but it just isn't the same. I'm honestly not much of a social guy, and when I head elsewhere it feels... odd. Like I'm an outcast or something, and that's even if I'm allowed to post. Funny enough, I still feel like the weird one here, and I've stuck around for 7 years. Once I find a good community or group, I cling to it tightly, and that was LBPC. LBPC has always been my benchmark when I've snooped around for other online communities. Ironically enough, I'm now on Minecraft a lot... and I've always called it a LittleBigPlanet rip-off. Though I wouldn't be on so much if the community wasn't like here... well, what it once was.

I still constantly dream of the characters and stories I've made up, of the tales I've failed to finish and future escapades that may never reach actual text. I think of what I can do to pump a little livelihood back into LBPC and what members I can characterize and personify, old and new. I might be going into music as my major and am investing my time in most other places (like the two jobs I'm chained to), but I'm still a writer... a writer who made his start here... and still only writes for and about here.

Maybe that's why I'm so sentimental about LBPC. I made "me" here. I made "me" on LBPC. And, when LBPC dies, I guess "Outlaw-Jack" will die with it. Because this here outlaw is one-of-a-kind, and it's only here that you'll find him. The real one, at least.

Maybe soon enough, we'll find out if I can keep that promise I made 7 years ago, and ride this out 'til the end. See y'all around, and happy trails.

You know, I hope I run into one of you guys in real life one day. Maybe it will come up in a conversation one day like "Oh you played LBP? Did you ever go on LBPC?" That would be nice...but then there's the chance I may never see you guys again, and it will all be a faded memory.

Crud, I would propose a meet-up, if I wasn't in the middle of Oklahoma, and if I wasn't a college kid.

I was kinda amazed how quickly this placed turned into a ghost town after LBP3 came out. There was so many ways this series could had been handled better. Oh well, no changing anything now.

I've been apart of LBP communities from early 2009 & onwards. I made many casual friends and a few close friends along the way, I?m still close to couple of the best friends I've made? dragging them around to places such as twitter & skype, ETC helped. Ho-Hoooo!

Oh BTW, I?m still planning to work on and finish a handful of the game projects on LBP I started years ago when I?m in the right mood. There may not be many folk left to play them by the time I?m done, but that doesn?t and never really mattered to me.

While I was not fond of the idea awhile back, I do kinda wonder now if the game ?Dreams? does good, if afterwards this forum should be converted into a Dreams forum instead of letting it self rot away on a dying series, AKA LBP. However that would require Dreams to actually get popular, and there?s no reason to assume it will yet.

PS: And now I continue to laugh at all the so called loyal extremist LBP fans in the past who all thought they were more loyal to the series then me and all said they would never quit the series. Zhaa ha haa!

This almost looks like a good bye thread... so I shall say mine due to a change of interests from my part!

I was very active for a couple years on here - I recognise a good few names in here but I wouldn't be surprised if some don't remember me... been so long since I've been active. Really enjoyed my time here in those early days.

I was a kid in my early years of uni when I joined.... now I'm a home owner with a proper job. Very adult.

Bye all, thanks for the good times

This isn't a goodbye thread... is it?

For example... do you want us to just shut the site down? We would save quite a bit of money.

Actually, I was thinking of adding a Dreams section once Mm gets around to releasing their next game. ..then of course keeping up with whatever new offerings there are from LBP.

...but then there are these posts saying good bye.. We don't allow good bye threads, but then I'm not the heavy handed admin either. I run this site for all of you that visit here and it seems new folks keep joining all the time. ...but there is this thread with everyone getting all mopey and gloomy. lol

Hi Luigi_Fan_8,

it seems that I'm a little bit more optimistic concerning the number of views of posts here. Ok, 'thanks' or even 'replies' are not so frequently given, but currently, just in this moment there are 3 members and 49 guests online, so I'm convinced that most of them are viewing all newer threads and posts. Did I already tell you that I'm a born optimist!
8 months registered is already a long time, thanks for that!
Maybe that a thread like this one could discourage newer members, veterans longing for the good old times! ...or a kind of inner circle, which could prefer to stay among themselves!...Wrong! Every active member, regardless of whether veteran or newer one, is highly welcome and sometimes newer members are even more interesting precisely because they're not so familiar like veteran friends.
So I'm looking forward to read more posts from the brother of Mario_Fan_8!
Have a fine weekend and many greetings, Jürgen^^
