Sensing Player Wins?

Archive: 7 posts

I want to make a series of mini game that are linked together through a level Link But. I cant figure out how to save the players wins. Like if play 2 wins then it carries over into the next game through Level link. any body have any ideas how I can achieve this? Much Thanks!2016-01-13 21:34:00

Do you have access to a memorizer (DLC - DC pack required)? If not, you should still be able to save your score and use that as binary digits, but you can't count too many (I believe looking up save systems LBP2 or something along that line in LBP2 tutorials will get you this solution). I'm going to assume you are using the memorizer instead then. I'm going to direct you to this video for feedback loops which is the most accepted way to do it and arguably the most diverse and versatile way to keep track of numbers.

There's also this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=83533-How-to-Create-a-Custom-Money-System), but saving and loading is more complicated
To save the feedback loop, just hook up the output into the memorizers input, activate and there you go! To load, you'll want to pulse (once) that loading value into the add section of the feedback loop (that video is old and I think they use the old way to add, just tweak an OR gate).

As for the object saver, i can't think of how to do that. If you don't have the DC pack, I do recommend it as it has a ton of content, but I understand budgets and whatnot so scores are a workaround.

Yea, I have The Memorizer. just can't use it to save individual player progress Only the host (Player 1). I just want to save the Players wins so if player 3 wins and they go back to the Mini game Hub through a level Link. His win is still there until reset.2016-01-13 23:04:00

If you put all your mini game levels into and Adventure, you might be able to make it work using Quests - I'm just not sure off hand how exactly you would set up the Quests, but it may be worth checking out 2016-01-14 05:15:00

I found a way to make it work using sackbots and player sensors. I may make a tutorial on it soon to explain in better detail.2016-01-14 06:51:00
