MediEvil

If any of you remember MediEvil, it was that old PS1 game that got a sequel two years later, then a PSP remake in 2005. Since then it has been pretty well forgotten, so I propose yet another resurrection, but this time on LittleBigPlanet.

Note that I am talking about LittleBigPlanet 1 here, and this is a pretty unusual thing for me to do, but to be honest I think I just want to try and secure myself a Platinum trophy for this game. I don't intend to do it undeservingly though, so because the community on LBP1 is so tiny, and Liquid seems to have got his level-spamming machine up and running again, I am going to have to resort to advertising here.

I would love to try this level, but my PS3 is broken since more than a year, but I will try to revive it (but I already had the plan half a year ago and I'm still without a PS3! ) *sigh*

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

I have been through the whole broken PS3 thing before, and it is quite irritating.

Maybe you can play these levels on LBP3 on PS4? I am somewhat doubtful that they will work properly, but it might be worth a shot.

oh man! I loved MediEvel. I got the demo in a PizzaHut demo disc one time. It had that and Tony Hawk 1 or 2 I believe it might have been. I only had Gran Turismo at the time, so I wore out that Demo disk! This looks pretty cool. I'll check it out sometime. Now, I say "sometime" because I'm on Fallout 4 right now and well, it's...it's taken over my Playstation ok? I'm addicted to it the way I was addicted to LBP for 8 years. I will play it, I promise! But I think my FO4 disk as fused itself into my PS4 and full assimilation as begun.2016-01-13 17:19:00

Would this run ok on LPB2? If so I will play it as soon as I'm around a decent internet connection again, which will be in a month or so 2016-01-18 17:32:00

It does run on LBP3, and you can get to the end, so I am sure it must also work on LBP2.2016-01-18 21:59:00

I played this last night in LBP3 so it works fine. I liked it. It was a nice nostalgia throwback to LBP1. I liked the design but felt it was too flat, know what I mean. Not enough layer changes and differing differences between the layers. So like having the front layer low, then the middle layer arcing up into a hill and then maybe a cave inside that hill? Tis hard to explain. Loved the fencing and all that. Looked great. Maybe some different gameplay aspects like pulling a gravestone over to be able to jump on a block/hill/sanctuary to pull a switch that opens a gate. Some more puzzle stuff would be good. But I did like it. Good work.2016-01-19 15:33:00

Thanks for the feedback. I originally wanted to have a more hilly design with the three separate layers, and even make the angel statue work at the end, but the thermometer was being a bit mean to me, so I couldn't do the statue thing, I suppose you could tell I kind of rushed the ground design though. I mean the whole second half of the level is completely flat (which isn't straying all that far from the source material).

I have plans to deviate more from the original design with Cemetery Hill, and actually design a nicer ground for the level.

I take it you didn't have too much trouble fighting the Zombies, because in LBP2/3 the game lets you get away with destroying the enemies even if you didn't hit them exactly perfectly. In LBP1, they can be very difficult to kill.

Cemetery Hill could take a while, because I need to be careful of the thermometer, design three layers instead of one, and make some actual puzzles in this one.
