Multiplication help needed.

Archive: 4 posts

Alright, so I'm having thin material stay in the middle of a thick material layer. A thick material layer can be defined as 6.25%
100?16=6.25 (theoretically 17 thin layers but in our case they don't matter.)

The first signal needed is a 3.125% pretty easily achieved using the and gate.
I was curious if there was a simpler method of doubling a percentage than adding. rather than adding a 6.25, over and over to the previous outputs to get further through the layers, a simple multiply 6.25x2, x3, x4 etc would help greatly.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

If you have an OR gate set to ADD, then each time you add the same input into the OR gate, it multiplies by the next integer value (IE 3 inputs is x3), for your sake this will work perfectly. Although, it won't go over 100% due to how the exponent system in LBP3 is set up.

Is this clear enough?

I'm confused on what you are wanting. It sounds to me like you are wanting a faster multiplier for your create purposes? Amiel is right (as usual) but I interpreted your question differently. I feel like you're wanting a microchip that multiplies for you. For simple purposes, you there's a team picked advanced memorizer tutorial level (https://lbp.me/v/qrczwx3/topreviews?p=1&l=12) that you can pick up the positive variable chip in the giveaways section as well as the 100 pulse. Simply hook the pulse up to an AND gate with the signal you want to add to the add input (also i think setting a max is required), change the pulse to whatever you want it to be multiplied by, and let it go.2016-01-03 06:59:00

take an AND gate with 2 inputs and set it to multiply, wire it to all inputs of 10 port adding OR gate, then wire that to all inputs of a second 10 port adding OR gate (essentially multiplying the output of the AND gate by 100).

the multiplier will now treat both inputs as whole numbers rather than percentages of a whole, but still have a 100 limit. (i have one that goes up to 10,000 though it requires a bit more logic)

so you could wire your 3.125 into one input of the AND gate, then a counter set to a max of 100 into the other, then you can simply set the counter to the number you want it multiplied by or change it via logic
